Solid predictions. If I have the ability to play the entire Metroid Prime trilogy on Switch before Prime 4, then I’ll be happy. I’m still holding out hope, though, for Ocarina of Time remake at launch.
The thing about Prime 4 causing Metroid to get a giant boost in popularity could very much be true if Nintendo plays their cards right during the Switch 2's launch... because the exact same thing happened to Zelda with Breath of the Wild being the Switch's big launch title.
You are missing a key difference. Well two actually, first of all they aren't the same genre of game so they appeal to different people...people who like Zelda aren't magically going to like Metroid, or the other way around. However the main thing you are unaware of is the "Boost" BOTW got was a HORRIBLE HORRIBLE thing that RUINED the Zelda franchise. It sold so well because Zelda was watered down and became unrecognizable...it pandered to casuals, the people who never cared about the series to begin with. Which is something you do not do. If Metroid got massive sales numbers, it's cause it is no longer Metroid. Gamers need to realize sales numbers don't matter, stop caring about those FOCUS ON THE GAMES BEING WHAT THEY ARE. Enjoy what you like, and don't buy what you don't like, Simple as that.
@@wackster1 Nintendo is the richest company in Japan. They have more money then they will ever need. They can release games that are loved that don't need big sales. MK8 alone covered 3 or 4 Switch games on it's own! MK9 can cover a Star Fox game, a Pikmin game and a Metroid game with their lower sales. Smash can cover another 3 games, 3D Mario can cover 2 at least. Pokemon can cover like 5 games lol. Nintendo doesn't care about money over quality fun games. They have stated that money is not their number one focus many many times. If you make good fun products the money will be there, cause people want that in life. Point is Nintendo has big hitters that make so much that it covers the losses from lesser selling games. Xbox doesn't have that, because they have no more exclusives. PlayStation is drastically struggling too with a lack of must play exclusives. They just get numbers from 3rd party multiplats.
Pretty solid predictions and great vid... i also think a dormant IP could return and will release in the Switch 2 launch window... and I would like it to be a NEW F-Zero game... I think it's happening, Nintendo has jumped ship and instead of putting out F-Zero GX HD which would be awesome, they are instead going to wow us with a brand new F-Zero and it's going to be another graphical showcase game too, right alongside Metroid Prime 4: Beyond... and maybe instead of Switch 2 Sports Resort we could get some kind of new IP that is multiplayer focused.. I think first-party games are going to be light in the first 8 months or so for Switch 2 compared to Switch to give third-party games room to shine... and then holiday 2025 on Nintendo will capitalize... Pokemon Legends ZA like you said, a new Mariokart game, which if that is the November 2025 game, it would be releasing 6 MONTHS before The Super Mario Bros Movie sequel which is perfect... and a new F-Zero has to come out before Mariokart to give it any chance... but Splatoon 4, Luigi's Mansion 4, a new 3D Kirby... and the next mainline Animal Crossing... I all see releasing in 2026 and beyond... something Zelda is also happening in 2025... the next open-air 3D Zelda and a new 2D Zelda are obviously out of the question... my best guess would be either Windwaker or BOTW 4K... and a new Hyrule Warriors game that would kind of serve as BOTW 3!

January announcement and March release is my thought. People need to realise that Nintendo don't need time to hype up the new Switch 2 as People have already been waiting years for it. We all know it's getting release and are tired of waiting.
I still think we'll get the Switch 2 announcement early Jan detailing the launch year of releases, then the release will be Mar/Apr. I will say your predictions are pretty well thought out, I also think Metroid P4 is a launch title.
While I actually do sincerely expect a January reveal pretty early on I can also absolutely see us bleating about Switch 2 while 100% of Nintendo’s marketing is focused on Donkey Kong Country
Well 2024 was alright I guess since we got a new Mario Party and we have the comebacks of both Mario and Luigi and Epic Mickey. But I know I was hoping that this year we would get both remakes of Kirby Triple Deluxe and Kirby Planet Robobot in a two-pack Collection and also having a remake of Tomodachi Life to come to Switch this year but it never happened and it's sad that we didn't get DLC for Super Mario Bros Wonder. So my predictions for 2025 are seeing what Switch 2 is finally gonna look like, Getting some new Mario Stuff and Games for Mar10 Day and Mario's 40th Anniversary like the next 3D Mario, Mario Kart 9 or X, Luigi's Mansion 4, A new Wario Land Game, a new Donkey Kong, a new Yoshi game, a sequel or a new Mario Super Sluggers, and a new Paper Mario game. They can show us what the next 3D Kirby game the sequel for Kirby and the Forgotten Land of what it's going to be like and maybe we could see King Dedede, Meta Knight, and (for the first time ever for being Kirby's new Allies) Clawroline and Elfilin being playable characters to go along with Kirby and Bandana Waddle Dee and giving us new copy abilities and upgrades, new mouthful modes, and new lands to explore. They can show us that fake leaked 2D Kirby Game Kirby and the Celestial Star and telling us who this Susie-related Kirby female character Polly about how she got here and meet Kirby and if she is Susie's sister or something. We can get new games like Donkey Kong, Wario, Yoshi, Star Fox, Animal Crossing, The Legend of Zelda, and Punch-Out but I don't know. And I know a HD remake of Kirby Planet Robobot is coming to Switch next year but I'm not gonna buy it unless they can add Kirby Triple Deluxe with Kirby Planet Robobot and make it a two-pack Collection so then we would have all the Modern Kirby Games in one console so that would make me happy if they do that next year and I still need to beat Kirby's Return to Dreamland Deluxe 100% still before we move on to the next Kirby Game. And I do hope we get to see a remake or a sequel for Tomodachi Life come to Nintendo Switch and adding the Miitopia Mii Maker in it so then we would have both Miitopia and Tomodachi Life on Switch now that would be cool for next year. But yeah I hope next year will be good for Nintendo since they will show the next console the Switch 2 and do something special for Mario's 40th Anniversary so I can't wait to see what they're gonna do for next year I can't wait.

Something people aren't thinking about, is so many people want Metroid to become some massive successful franchise, however that brings a big problem, mainly for the Prime series....If Prime became a big deal and pushed Metroid to being a bigger franchise to Nintendo, that means Retro gets locked into being like GameFreak....they would basically only be making Prime games forever....cause letting someone else make Metroid Prime doesn't work as we learned already. You think Retro wants to make only Metroid Prime games forever? No. In regards to 2D Metroid games, Mercury Steam is it? Would be forced to only make 2D Metroid games going forward if Metroid's numbers shot up. This is not a good thing, those devs would get burnt out and lose passion and quit, then we have new devs coming in making these games and the quality wouldn't match.

Nintendo are not gonna release Prime 2, 3, or windwaker and Twilight Princess on Switch. They're gonna be switch 2 online exclusives as nintendo pushes gamecube for the switch 2 as a feature and keeps adding the value to switch online that they dont shut up about
I don't think Donkey Kong Country Returns will sell super well. It'll probably sneak by 1 million units sold, but it's just a simple HD-remaster & they'll selling that for $60. Even Paper Mario TTYD only sold 1.5 million units after a couple months, and that was a "remake" (and Mario is more popular than DK). It's also been another year for people to get tired of Switch, which means less potential buyers yet again. Also, predicting the Switch 2 will be "revealed before March 1st" isn't much of a prediction. Their fiscal year ends March 31st, so the odds are that you've got a 2 out of 3 chance of being correct. Not trying to be mean, but prediction videos should be a bit more bold. Try to narrow things down a bit more so we can all celebrate when you nail something impressive! Take big swings! Not saying you have to predict ridiculous stuff like "Mother 3 Remake Day 1 launch title!" but you could say "Switch 2 will be revealed in the last 2 weeks of January, with Nintendo Land 2 & Metroid Prime 4 as launch titles!" If you got some of that correct, you'd gain a lot more credit!
Nintendo has been carefully planning (and delaying) this unveiling for years, primarily to build a war chest of first-party system-sellers and to break the cycle of releasing a poor successor to a winning console. There is no conceivable way that they don’t release the Switch 2 without a new 3D Mario or Mario Kart title. I love the Metroid franchise, but it’s simply not a killer app. Never has been. I hope that it continues to gain an audience, but it’s not quite ready for prime time (yet). Be objective.
Nintendo skipping out on June's Direct, nah. Remember Switch 1 will still get games after the Switch 2 is out, so they can still cover the second half of 2025 for Switch 1 games. Professor Layton and such.
Metroid is not very popular. I doubt Metroid prime 4 is going to sell switch 2 consoles. A new 3d Mario game or a new Legend of Zelda game or a new Mario cart game would be better games for the switch 2 launch. Andres.

You think we will get 3 Metroid games over a 4 month period? Prime 2 in February, two month later Prime 3, then two months later Prime 4 in June? Never in history has Nintendo ever released 3 games in one series in a single year before. While I agree with Prime 2 being Shadow Dropped in February, I suspect Prime 3 wont be more then a month later. As for Prime 4...I don't think we get it till July/August and it's a Switch 1 exclusive. They want all 4 Primes to be equal quality with each other. So We agree on Prime 2 Remastered. I think Prime 3 will be less then 2 months later, hopefully. Maybe they say Prime 2 shadow drops digitally, but Prime 2 and 3's physical versions are out in 2 weeks! Then Prime 4 in Summer to give people a few months to beat 2 and 3 to get ready for 4. But again, Prime 4 wont have a Switch 2 version.

I now believe Prime 4 comes as a cross-platform launch game, highlighting new aiming consistency with Switch 2 having IR pointing back. I think it's the surprise feature when the JoyCon is detached. And Prime 2 & 3 I think will come later now, with Prime 4 being pushed for new players as a prequel (or at least most of it set in the past).
@Rune_Scholar I think it was that nexthandheld guy said there was a surprise feature on the JoyCon once detached, and I think it was samus hunter said the C is to do with lasers, plus more of the unit supposedly is showing out of the dock so it all seems to fit. I know Skyward Sword was a bit of a pain with motion controls, it might not be so much of an issue with Metroid being like Splatoon controls but for many ports and maybe new games I think they will benefit from having that feature back

Relax with the switch 2 content now for a while, let's enjoy the lead up to the new year and see what happens in the new year, not every day switch 2, let's Ll take a break from socials and be human and see what January brings.
Nintendo is not happy with the leaks, so Nintendo is going to announce that they are cancelling the Switch 2 and we are stuck with Switch 1 for another 7 years while they make a new system and they will try again, and if it leaks again, Switch 1 will be their last system ever. Either way we don't get a new system for 7 more years.

Witcher 4 as a Switch 2 Launch game? My dude, the game has no release WINDOW yet it's not coming out in 6 months in June lol.
Nintendo has been carefully planning (and delaying) this unveiling for years, primarily to build a war chest of first-party system-sellers and to break the cycle of releasing a poor successor to a winning console. There is no conceivable way that they don’t release the Switch 2 without a new 3D Mario or Mario Kart title. I love the Metroid franchise, but it’s simply not a killer app. Never has been. I hope that it continues to gain an audience, but it’s not quite ready for prime time (yet). Be objective.
Nintendo skipping out on June's Direct, nah. Remember Switch 1 will still get games after the Switch 2 is out, so they can still cover the second half of 2025 for Switch 1 games. Professor Layton and such.

Metroid is not very popular. I doubt Metroid prime 4 is going to sell switch 2 consoles. A new 3d Mario game or a new Legend of Zelda game or a new Mario cart game would be better games for the switch 2 launch. Andres.

New 3D Mario
You think we will get 3 Metroid games over a 4 month period? Prime 2 in February, two month later Prime 3, then two months later Prime 4 in June? Never in history has Nintendo ever released 3 games in one series in a single year before. While I agree with Prime 2 being Shadow Dropped in February, I suspect Prime 3 wont be more then a month later. As for Prime 4...I don't think we get it till July/August and it's a Switch 1 exclusive. They want all 4 Primes to be equal quality with each other. So We agree on Prime 2 Remastered. I think Prime 3 will be less then 2 months later, hopefully. Maybe they say Prime 2 shadow drops digitally, but Prime 2 and 3's physical versions are out in 2 weeks! Then Prime 4 in Summer to give people a few months to beat 2 and 3 to get ready for 4. But again, Prime 4 wont have a Switch 2 version.

Also if you did your research, you'd realise the Prime Trilogy Book releases in the Summer meaning that there'll be no MP4 till late 2025..

I now believe Prime 4 comes as a cross-platform launch game, highlighting new aiming consistency with Switch 2 having IR pointing back. I think it's the surprise feature when the JoyCon is detached. And Prime 2 & 3 I think will come later now, with Prime 4 being pushed for new players as a prequel (or at least most of it set in the past).
What is your evidence for this feature theory?
@Rune_Scholar I think it was that nexthandheld guy said there was a surprise feature on the JoyCon once detached, and I think it was samus hunter said the C is to do with lasers, plus more of the unit supposedly is showing out of the dock so it all seems to fit.
I know Skyward Sword was a bit of a pain with motion controls, it might not be so much of an issue with Metroid being like Splatoon controls but for many ports and maybe new games I think they will benefit from having that feature back

“Maybe a Witcher 4” as a switch 2 launch title is the most out of touch, ignorant to the industry take I’ve heard in a long while, that’s just a stupid thing to even put in people’s minds and is total hype train garbage. There is a zero chance that game comes out for switch 2 launch let alone 2025.
I was not even thinking about the release date at the moment to be honest. I just meant AAA games along those lines could be coming. I know that one is going to take a while. “Thanks” for being so “delicate”.
My biggest issue regarding the whole, “There will be plenty to play before the Switch 2” argument is this. That’s what was said for the 2024 lineup and yet people were still ultimately disappointed about this years offerings
This new 3D Mario game, that will come out at some point in time, is going to look amazing. Can't wait!
Relax with the switch 2 content now for a while, let's enjoy the lead up to the new year and see what happens in the new year, not every day switch 2, let's Ll take a break from socials and be human and see what January brings.
Nintendo is not happy with the leaks, so Nintendo is going to announce that they are cancelling the Switch 2 and we are stuck with Switch 1 for another 7 years while they make a new system and they will try again, and if it leaks again, Switch 1 will be their last system ever. Either way we don't get a new system for 7 more years.
These aren't "predictions" you don't have inside info. You aren't basing any of this off of any facts.
Stop with the copium and accept that we know NOTHING other than what nintendo has said.
HELL we don't even know IF nintendo will stick with what they've said. Plans change, and consoles get canned often.

There are only 2 mistakes in your video. The console will not be called Switch 2 and the Switch 2 will not come out in 2025

Well, congratulations! They said that the Switch 2 would release within the fiscal year. That fiscal year is a business term. It starts in the middle of one year and ends in the middle of the next. The current fiscal year that we are within is the one the Switch 2 will release within.
