If 6% is to much for real estate when will the government work on the ridiculous service tipping that is 3 to 5 time more then realtors get?

6% is completely ridiculous . Walk people through a house and then do some paperwork making 24000$ on somebody's property that goes for 400,000

@@ranmc9770 a single person doesn’t get paid that money. 6% is split between the listing broker getting 3% and the selling broker getting 3%. Usually the broker splits the 3% with the agent and each get 1.5%. The realtor has to pay income tax, expenses, advertising and a walkthrough isn’t all they do. Plus that agent has to be familiar with all the regulations, and guides you through the purchasing process. If you do not want to pay for these services list the house yourself or negotiate a percentage that makes sense.

@@ranmc9770 First off The agent only gets 3 percent. Its split between both sides. then that 3 percent also has to cover broker fees, and all the other fees associated with getting a house sold, that means the agetn pays out of pocket for the listing service, pays for the lock box and showing service app, pays for all the professional photos to be taken, signs to be made and installed, running open houses, and marketing campaigns brochures, all the office expenses as well Agents can work for months and have a deal still not close and have absolutely no money to show and be out of pocket for all of the initial costs and expenses. And there is no deal that is ever as simple as walking thru a house and signing some paperwork!
