💬 Megaman X5 has an awesome sound track to an awesome boss fight, and I decided to cover it while adding my own twists.
This is my first time using a green screen. I created a temporary screen out of bed sheets and lamps until I make a real one in my basement. Unfortunately it did not key as well as I wanted it to, but I think my video still came out pretty sweet!
With this video, my biggest accomplishment was mixing megaman x5 elements with music-- the megaman weapons are famous band/guitarists, and I try to play a little bit of their style when the weapon is selected. The projectiles are also in sync with the music.
My subscribers will also recognize the ending, except it's slightly different this time. Thank you for watching my videos and your support!

You got me when you started shooting Metallica stars.
And as if it wasn't supercool already, listen closely, theres is an Yngwie reference as well: The Metallica's ninja star attack got Zero to answer with little suns from Far Beyond the Sun. I'm not sure about what the third reference is, tho, the Dean guitar shown doesn't look like the Dimebag's guitar i knew so i don't know, maybe it's not about Pantera. That tells me i should be listening to more music. =)
If I remember well, if you are fighting Awakened Zero, you have 2 MINUTES to defeat him.
Or else he'll trigger a death blow repeatedly that occupies most of the screen.

Indeed, it's 2 minutes into the battle. That is probably the only time I've ever jumpscared in my entire life, and it was to the point where I stopped breathing for some moments.

By the way. Man! You must be a excellent platformer! I love Megaman any games like this, but the craziest thing I have done was doing Sigma's laser level in X5 while using the slow Gaea Armor (took me around a whole hour and 100 deaths).
A minimalist no damage challenge is far from my experience level. I salute you for this!
It's what Extra Credits once said, sometimes the best challenges are the ones the players create for themselves =)
Heh. One of the most amazing things about doing the stages minimalist is that it becomes a completely different game where you must change most strategies used with the Fourth Armor. For example, one of the stages I thought would be the easiest, Duff McWhalen's, turned out to be one of the hardest as it took me 601 tries over the course of two weeks. I never thought I would ever get tired of any Megaman OST, but this actually happened there.
Oh, and the most depressing part was when I took a hit from Squid Adler RIGHT as I hit him with my last shot. Still need to redo that stage, but I think I will finish Sigma first.
I'm going to say that I had to skip the challenge on most of the Sigma Stages (laser, final and second) because they would take too long for me to memorize but I'm probably going back to them, and also the Rangda Bangda boss but that was because of the pixel-perfect red eye that would get me every single time.
Also, oh my. Not only is the Gaea armor slower, it also doesn't allow you to slide so you must be very careful when touching walls there. Congrats with this!
Oh, the Duff McWhalen's level! I can understand you pain...
It looks cool at first, but it quickly turns into a huge pain in the ass if you try it too many times. The level demands it's own pace and you can't do it faster. It gets repetitive way too fast =/
The soundtrack goes from "what a nice remaster of Bubble Crab's level from X2" to "ENOUGH OF THIS MUSIC".
The reason I did it so many times was because of the challenge of beating Duff McWhalen without using it's weakness. And that cursed whale killed me more than I can remember.
I finished it, but it's a challenge I'm not repeating soon...
One thing that I learned in the end was to never be ashamed of skipping a part of a challenge that you can do later. And by "later" I mean in a moment that you have more patience and maybe a sharper skill.
The joy of a challenge should always be bigger than the suffer it can involve. And betting your pride in the process can leave you blind to that.

About the "Gaea Armor Sigma Laser Level Challenge", thank you! =)
I assure! you it's way more enjoyable that the Duff McWhalen's level!
And after that you get a "reward" by the fact that the next parts were not made with the Gaea Armor in mind; they get funnily strange and easier.
Something similar is the "Shadow Armor Leap of Faith Challenge" in X6.
It's really similar and interesting to do. There's a specific part in Gate's level that you're supposed to pass using an air dash. Normally you cannot do it with the Shadow Armor, but if you equip the Parts "Speedster" and "Hyper Dash" you can perform a dangerous leap of faith and make it! =D

Thank you! The twin solo at about 3:03 is supposed to be the buster action, and the ending is basically a saber beam using the guitar. The graphics aren't exact representations though haha
