- Sogidi lake may sound like the latest Yoruba movie title, but it is not. It's actually a Yoruba historical video about the town of Awe, which is located near Oyo Alaafin. We film this Yoruba history documentary in the form of a Yoruba movie for your delight.
I first went to Afin Alaafin of Oyo to inquire about the history of Alaafin Oronpoto or Orompoto (the first and the last female Alaafin), but they were too busy to help me, so I googled other locations to see in Oyo town. I was blown away by what I read about Sogidi Lake in Awe, Oyo State, and how close it was to where I was (Alaafin of Oyo’s palace), so I decided to give it a shot and it turned out well.
During my hunt for the first female Alaafin's history, I came across a few of Alaafin's wives, which we will discuss in our future upload, but until then, let me tell you about a few things i saw in Awe and Oyo town.
I'm planning to make a video about the technology of the Yoruba people before the colonization. And how crucial it was for yoruba to perform particular tasks. If I were to write a book on all of this, I am confident that it would be a top seller. In Oyo Alaafin, there are over 500 methods to entertain yourself outside of work and My trip to Oyo Alaafin from Ibadan yielded over 5 hours of video, which I will share with you, but you must agree to constantly press the like button, since hitting the like button implies you have donated 5000 nairas to the channel.
This channel will introduce the Nigerian cityscape and sceneries.

Does anyone knows where the lake leads?
It’s a lake. It doesn’t flow at all.
It’s my hometown
That’s right behind my grandparents house. I was there while I was a kid and I remember eating fruit from that tree and also dip my leg into the river. What a good experience, wish I could go there for some prayers after a long time 😢
@Adeolaah so lovely. I wish to visit again
