  • The Invisible Ribbed Bind off, also known as the Kitchener Bind off, is my favorite bind off to use with 1x1 ribbing. Sure, it's not as easy as some bind offs, but the finished result is worth all the extra effort. And it really isn't as hard as you think.
    I use this bind off on all my sweaters and it's the bind off I recommend in patterns created at my website phrancko.com/. Come there to knit a custom-fit sweater using Phrancko's Seamless Set-in Sleeves construction.

    Phrancko, you are such a good teacher. This is very helpful and very clearly explained. I am about to finish a sweater, and I will follow these instructions for binding off the K1P1 ribbing. Thank you!

    I was just binding off the waist on my second ever sweater when I decided to look for a better, nicer looking bind off. So happy your video was at the top of the list. Thank you 🙏
    Here I go 😊

    I've always used some kind of long tail cast on and a standard bind off and thought that was just the way hand knit sweaters had to look. Now, I have put a lot of money and effort into Andrea Mowry's "Shifty". The pattern called for a tubular cast on which was a pain, but looked so nice. I wanted the hem and cuffs to look just as nice and found your video. I'm so glad I did. Your video was very easy to pause and follow step by step until you memorize the steps, and it looks so much nicer than a standard bind off! Thank you!

    I love this method but wish you didn’t speed it up- beginners need to see it multiple times to “get it”. So glad to see you using a Chiaogoo needle- please join Chiaogoo Divas a great Facebook group.
    This is a good video - the sweater neckline looked great but the video would be much better if you briefly showed the cuffs, hem and neck and showed the entire video at real time - viewers can always fast forward. Thanks Phranko!

    Thank you for such a clear easy to follow video. If there is a lot of yarn left over after binding off that is no problem since it is used to sew up the garment. Kindest regards.

    I really appreciate your video. Thank you so much. Im not much for patterns, I prefer to just take a go at something with an arsenal of techniques to step it up a notch. Sweater, here I come. Lol

    I've been doing this bind-off a lot lately and your method gives the cleanest join at the end that I've seen. Thank you! ps what pattern is the sweater are you wearing?

      It’s my Gray-dient Sweater. The pattern is in the Fall 2019 issue of Cast On magazine, available at TKGA.org.

    Would it be possible for me to work this the same way on a twisted rib? Thanks for the video!

      @@liliancounsel6500 I'm in the same boat. I think as long as you can identify K vs P in the ribbing you should be safe, but I agree: when he said it'll take as long to take it out as it did to do it, I shuddered. I'm seriously thinking that a practicing on a mini version like he uses in the video would be not only smart, it actually might save your sanity.

    I think written instructions would be helpful, too. It looks like a nice bind off.

    How to knit round neck

    • @KnittingbyPhrancko
      @KnittingbyPhrancko  Рік тому

      Let me assume you are asking how to get the round neck pattern at Phrancko.com. The answer is, purchase the "Crewneck" pattern and then click the link for "Round Neck" in the first box at the top of the pattern that you purchased. (If that was not your question, please clarify for me. Also, it is better to ask these kinds of questions in a private message on Ravelry. My Ravelry name is Phrancko there as well.)
