Hi Ellen - thanks for another masterpiece in teaching methods. I was wondering this is also applicable for a Twisted Rib 1x1 in the round? I have 350 stitches to bind off in a hem and it looks slightly daunting. How do I manipulate such a long needle thread when pulling through? Many thanks. PS. I will be attaching links for all your videos I used in My Ravelry project page.
I have never tried it, but I can't think of a reason why this bind off wouldn't work for a twisted rib. As far as using a sewn bind off around so many stitches...I don't know of any trick that will make it easier to manage the long yarn tail except going slow and being very patient. It's not a race and you can do it!
Thank you for your very informative videos. I have learned many new versions how to correct my knitting. Especially during covid and not able to go to LYS your teaching style is great and i appreciate it. Thank you"
You all prolly dont care at all but does anyone know of a way to get back into an Instagram account? I stupidly forgot the login password. I appreciate any tips you can give me.
@Reuben Henry Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site through google and im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
Pretty much. Sometimes for a tubular bind off, especially if you're knitting stockinette stitch, you work a couple extra rows/rounds in 1x1 rib before you bind off, but for this project I was already knitting a 1x1 rib.
@@Matilda52 The tubular BO makes it look like your sts flow from the RS, over the edge and continue on the WS as if they were a continuous column. To create that look you have to have stitches that look like knits on both the RS and WS of the fabric. That's not the case with plain stockinette, it looks like knits on the RS and purls on the WS. I hope that makes sense.
Good question. Most of my videos are created to support specific patterns in my design collection. It's not uncommon for the same skill to be used in multiple patterns. However, even though I may be teaching a skill that I've taught in the past, I try to explain it in a different way so knitters who may be searching for help with a technique (even if they aren't knitting one of my patterns) can hopefully find the explanation that makes the most sense to them. We all learn and understand things in different ways.
@@thechillydog Awesome! thanks for the reply. just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything since the bind offs had different names. it's so helpful to see the different options available for completing the same knitting task. I really appreciate your videos.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I watched countless UA-cam videos, and yours is the ONLY one that made sense to me.
This is the first time this has been explained to me in a way that makes sense and therefore I can remember it! Thank you!
I’ve watched about 10 different videos on this and yours is by far the best explanation. Thank you!
I don’t know what you said different than others, but I finally got it! Thank you.
Best video I've seen. I greatly appreciate how you take your time showing us each stitch you make. God bless.
Thank you. I will definitely try this one.
This is the best video and explanation/ step by step directions. Thank you♡
Your ribbing is very neat and clean. I'm jealous :)
Great tutorial. I know this method but have never knew what to do with the last 2 stitches. Now I got it. Thanks vm.
Awesome directions! Made it very easy to learn this bind off.
Great tutorial! Thank you ❣️ Now tell me where you got that awesome needle ‼️ 😵💫❣️😵💫
That is sooooo cool! New way & better way to bind off. Thank you.
🌴☀️I love this channel ☀️🌴
Yes I saw this is the same as your tubular bind off which is the video that made me subscribe to you!!! I’m so happy I did!!
Yes!!!! Thank you thank you!!
You’ve made another excellent video!
Thanks for this video. How is this bind off different from the tubular bind off?

@@thechillydog could you maybe do 2x2 invisible ribbed video one day in the future for us?
@@thechillydog I had the very same question as Misty Blue. Thank you for the reminder to take my time.
Your yarn needle is different than any other needle I’ve ever seen before. What brand is it? I’m surprised the yarn doesn’t snag on it.
My husband gave it to me as a gift and it was made by Celtic Swan Forge. Unfortunately, I don't think the artist is in business anymore.

@Reuben Henry It worked and I finally got access to my account again. Im so happy:D
Thanks so much you saved my account !
@Enoch Marco Glad I could help =)
Can you please advise whether this is the same as the tubular bind-off in the round.

I like this 😊
Whats your sock pattern ? 🙂😊
HI Ellen, thanks for your great video. Is it possible to use this method for 2P x 2K ribbing ?
Hi. I've only used it on 1x1 rib. I think there is a modified way to do it on a 2x2 rib, but I'm pretty sure it won't work neatly for 2x1.
just curious why you have this video and tubular bind off in the round when they are the same bind off?

Excellent tutorial. What kind of blunt eyed needle are you usin
My amazing husband gave it to me on our 25th (silver) anniversary. He bought it from Celtic Swan Forge and it's a beauty!
What length of needle do you use?
I am also curious what darning/blunt needle you are using. Reminds me of Skacel Rocket 2 knitting needles.

@@thechillydog congrats on your 25th anniversary and being blessed with an amazing husband!
Awfully sorry to say but is the very last stitch really the last? As beautifully as it is demonstrated, the end looks somewhat not quite alright.
I agree with you, it misses just one last stitch. But it is a great way to bind off.
Sorry, I mean 2K x 1 P.
