I loved John Daker's video, it made me laugh so hard, and while she was not a funny comedian, this sweet lady made me smile. She's just a grandma who is trying her best, and its more endearing to me than it is point and laugh funny. And I laugh at other people's expense a lot, bloopers etc are some if my favourite videos on here. But this lady made me feel more empathy toward her than anything else. Anyone else get that?
I think it's great that this program allowed local people a platform to explore their performance hobbies. I loved when Pearl said she's "just so proud to be here!"
"You may have to wait until tomorrow for the answer you seek tonight" - dang that's actually pretty profound. Thanks, Reva and Pearl, you actually brought me some much-needed insight and reassurance. I hope you guys are happy up there in heaven hanging out with John. Whep!
Everyone I tell that dog joke it gets a great laugh. It's almost all about the delivery. However, I I love this sweet old lady doing something she's always wanted to do and she's clearly enjoying every minute of it. Give the audience a chance to applaud though..... "I'm just so proud to be here"!
And now, ladies and gentlemen, the woman we've all been waiting for, and waiting for. Would you welcome home please television's brightest new star. The legendary, inspirational, the one and only queen of comedy. Ladies and gentlemen, Pearl Gross! Pearl Gross, ladies and gentlemen! Let's hear it for Pearl Gross! Wonderful! Pearl Gross, ladies and gentlemen! Pearl Gross, ladies and gentlemen! Let's hear it for Pearl Gross! Wonderful! Pearl Gross, ladies and gentlemen!
She makes me feel incredibly bad for poor Bob. This has absolutely aged like fine wine. Bob deserves so much more respect and I think it came back around to him.
It's actually pretty impressive that Reva wrote that melody for that poem. Pearl doesn't sing it well, but it's a good, strong melody that fits the lyrics well.
She actually sings really well, especially when you consider her age. I often sing in a church choir with a bunch of old ladies, and sings much less flat, her vibrato is much more under control, and her tone is a lot purer. She also sang much more expressively than I was initially expecting her to. Although, the last song that she sang for her brother--she clearly didn't know it that well, hahahahaha.
I'm fully Christian, and these tapes make me want to go to Firsh Unité Mefodish Chursh.
Whep
@@afrog2666 Scrum scree!
I need this whole VHS tape to be uploaded. This is gold, the whole thing is gold.
Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When its gold, its gold!
pearl is known in some circles as the white dave Chappelle!
😂😂😂
Pearl is known in some circles as the white Louis CK....because she also enjoys doing inappropriate things in front of people (bad comedy)
DYING, THANK YOU.
Name them.

Awww yeah shes somebody's grandma!!! Lol!!! That's a cute way to think of it ^.^
shes a dumb bitch
Naw sorry bro, I just cringed
No. She's a dumb bitch.
Even Jesus cringed and told her to wrap it up.
I want to hear Bob's side of the story.
Bob Ross?
Bob Lazar?
Bob Dylan?
Bobbie Lee?
Bob Hoskins?
Bobby Kennedy?
Bob Marley?
Bob Barker?
Bob the Builder?

Suck some men and angels say Hallelujah
Y'all know what Ace Hardware is right?
This is the reason I left the Methodist Church and went to the 1st Pentecostal Snake Dancers Church.
But what has any of this got to do with the Firshyounigh Mefidiff Church?
S. Eric Ruth Yep she had 55 years teaching in that town.
@David Thomas and her teaching paid off if Pearl and John Dakkar's performances are any indication.

She keeps ‘em moving in there.

She probably read that off of a fortune cookie.
This was the point that Ed Sullivan decided to pull the plug on his show.
hahahahahaha
No longer a really fine shoe.
The joke about "that's not my dog" is from one of the Pink Panther movies.
Bob is something else........ROFL ROFL ROFL ROFL ROFL ROFL ROFL ROFL ROFL!!!!!

GOLD, JERRY! GOLD!
Her singing is very heartening though
The fact that she seamlessly went into hymns from standup is the funniest thing about her set
I love that you referred to her routine as a “set” haha

1:41 "And when he got to that bathroom, well, boy howdy; I tell you it was the stinkiest dump I ever done smelt. Pppeeeee-Uuuuuu, Bob!"
Happy Belated Birthday, Samantha
i don't know who's funnier, this lady or John Daker.
here's a hint. John Daker.
"-But he got all the looks." BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH
Raya Thieman I love this 💀💀💀💀💀💀
I made it through 1 minute and 28 seconds. Next week I will attempt to go for 2 minutes.
So, did you ever do it?
The mouse trap one actually made me laugh really hard. That’s a good one
"I got all the talent... but HE got all the LOOKS! AMIRITE?!!" Ew. Nothing quite like living up to your name, there, Pearl!
Her brother Bob! Now there's a theme we can ALL relate to!
A nice lady with a good sense of humor about herself and def was enjoying telling jokes and performing in her own way.
This is considered the height of humor in certain parts of Tennessee.
honestly this is a masterpiece
She sounds alot like Brak and she also tells stories like Brak.
god bless you

JUST ABOUT....
Sounds like Bob's having a bit of a time.
Bob is an enigma for sure.
Aw man, a more innocent America. I didn't grow up with music like this, or shows like this, but I appreciate it; fondness for a time I've never known.
round up your local narcissistic retards and get a camera; baby you got a stew going!
I owe Dane Cook an apology.
Happy 31st birthday Samantha
the sad thing is that there was an audience
Damn, pearl roasting these fools!
This is the funniest shit i ever heard! Omg I'm in tears, she is good!
This was probably considered risque comedy at the time
This was the early '90s. You act like it's the vaudeville era.
at what point is the punch line?
I liked the dog biting joke 😃😅

My face and my keyboard have become 1.
What a sweetie!
Goddamn you Bob, why do you need to always go to the bathroom?
You won't find quality comedy like this now days!
Pearl needs to swear more.
Send this to Greg Gutfeld. He has some SERIOUS comedic competition.
Pearl is a true butter face.
She's not a bad singer imo 👍
And Bob sounds like a riot!
She's hilarious!!!
That dog joke wasn’t written by her. Peter Sellers wrote that joke.
She broke the first rule of comedy, she mentioned death without a joke!
Her comedy doesn't follow any damn rules.
After this episode, they increased John Daker’s appearance fee to two bottles of communion wine and all the bread that he could eat.
I thought she was going to say someone kicked toilet water in his mouth
Another step further into the Dakerverse!
that dog one though.... gold
Hand it to the Peoria,IL Methodists..
Please, please . . . Bring on Henrietta and Merna! (if you don’t know them, check their incredible performance right here on UA-cam).
WHAT THE DEAL WITH GOING TO THE BATHROOM!??
2:13 "he - he - he's awwlways such 'n embarassment to me" Yeah, you should talk.
I want to hear this now with a laugh track
Pearl Gross like you've never heard her before.
From Comedian to Singer in seconds.
You had to be multi faceted back then.
@2:44 If Earnest was alive today, he'd be 128.
If Reva were alive today, she'd be 101!
If Bob were alive today, he'd still only have one hand because of that mangy dog!
Hysterical!
tsss tssss....homerun pearl gross!
It sucks that they deleted Pearl telling the Aristocrats joke…it was nasty AF…
That's Gross!

This lady has timing. That guy is still alive!
Nailed it.
wow that really bit the big one.
Lost episode of last comic standing.
It's actually pretty impressive that Reva wrote that melody for that poem. Pearl doesn't sing it well, but it's a good, strong melody that fits the lyrics well.
Well, Reva's been playin' piano in this town for fifdyfife years!

At first I thought it was Bill Hicks.
I love poims
She should leave the comedy to John Daker. He's a natural.

I think Reva gave her a laugh at 2:07. Good to know someone gave her the proper props that she truly earned here.
Timing is everything…

When will we see Reverend Bill Jones get his act uploaded?
Her singing sounds like something that would appear at the end of an episode of This American Life
