- Purchased as a gutted out race car, Rick has transformed the 1971 Plymouth Cuda into 8-second street legal beast. Read the full story here: bit.ly/SwaggarCuda
We have featured several of the Hardee family Mopars, but this street legal 1971 Plymouth Cuda is definitely my personal favorite. Although, it wasn't exactly the car Rick was looking for, his wife Sharma talked him into buying it and there are no regrets.
Rick did a lot of changes to the 1971 Plymouth Cuda to make it street legal and threw a 9 to 1 compression World Block 440 engine in it. A 4.5 stroke with a 4.5 bore punched it out to 572 and the motor makes 900 horsepower running on pump gas.
While the 1971 Plymouth Cuda runs 8-second 1/4 mile with the current set up and the engine has more potential, Rick already brought home a new powerplant for the street legal Mopar. He will be aiming for 7's in 2021 and we wish him all the best.

I couldn't wait to see another great Mopar beast. That's an impressive and fantastic Fish with the "King Kong" under the hood! Incredibly powerful! Thanks so much, Danny and all the best in 2021.
Yeah, I've been waiting for few months to get this story done. Stay well my friend
Damm that cuda is sick i hope to see more of him all be rooting for him made a fan of me. Mopar or no car baby!!
Color Scheme is Beautiful!
How about the set up?
Great video. One wicked fish!!
Did you see the videos of the other Mopars owned by Rick and his wife Sharma?
Whoww,You have some nice cars to show,it can`t go wrong with a 71 Cuda racecar ;-)And a very fast one too
Looking at your videos, I can tell you can appreciate it.
Wow!👍 That 660' et & speed were also very impressive! MOPAR TO YA!
And Rick didn't reach its full potential at the time we did the story on his car
Its a badass ride but before he puts that new engine in it he better get it to launch straight, it pulled to the left every time he left the line.
Not sure if you saw the article, but anyway....as Rick shared the car still needs adjustments. Trust me, he will get this fish going straight like it's on rails. Glad you enjoyed the video
Love this ride my dreamobile...2thumbs up.
She is hell of a fish indeed. Glad you enjoyed the story
once he gets it dialed in with the new motor it will be lethal .
Oh yeah, and I can't wait for that. Thanks for checking it out brother
Luv it. Mopar!!!!
Amen ;)
I really like mopars but in your case you better get that cuda to run a straight line before you drop in that blower motor.
Awesome
Thanks, glad you enjoyed the video
👍😎
69 charger for cool affect the cuda for hurting folks feelings. This is a sweet Mopar!
Glad you enjoyed the video. Stay well cowboy
Nice color combo, hard running: I’d bump up the compression to 10:1, with all those cubes, it would REALLY stomp!!!!
He is getting a new motor in it for the upcoming season....the one shown in the video. Thanks for checking it out
you build a 440 right it will kick but all day long!😂
Badass car for sure! Nice color combo.
Whoever is doing the video editing needs to hold the camera still especially at the end of the clip when it shows the ET (and you can't read it)
.... Also the lettering at the beginning that describes the engine is almost unreadable.
Please view this for yourself before you display it for others; it's almost unreadable
Hey Lance,
Glad you enjoyed Rick's Cuda and thanks for the feedback. We do the all the editing, but with videos provided by the car owners. As for the engine description lettering, note taken. BTW, if you flip your phone sideways you'll be able to read the text easier.
70- 71 That grill My best friend high school 70 340 six pack with pistol grip. #matching car. In two months after getting the car. It had 440 in it. If he just left that car alone stored it. What it would be worth today. ?
Probably a lot if it was a numbers matching car, but still not as musch as original 440 or a 426 HEMI cars
@@HotAmericanCars Yes. But the first day I seen the car. All OEM. Except B F Goodrich for shoes. Black hardtop Black interior. Ect. He sold the car. 6 Years later. B1!!!!
I haven't seen any videos lately. Am I in youtube jail?
No brother 🤣🤣🤣 I haven’t posted in a while
I was worried.
ALL You need to KNOW is MY PROFILE NAME.🥰
Nice car, But it looked like he lost more than he won
These are just random passes Rick had on camera and provided for the story, not his best ones.
😘🤪👍
Does anyone know what rear tires he is running on tbe Street. I keep getting ticketed for my Good year Slicks but can't find similar size rear that works as good as my slicks do and if it rains while I have the car out....im parked till it drys off enough to drive it home very carefully or have the Pickup and Trailer follow me everyplace in case ...and that sucks. I burn thru Mickey Thompsons like a hot knife thru butter so thats too expensive...what I need is like old fashioned "cheater Slicks" that have a few grooves in them to be street legal but also still a good slick.
Any Ideas would be appreciated.
Awesome
One wild Fish for sure! What do you like about it the most?
