@@stefanvasov3843 the positive message of the song forms part of the criteria but fair to say most juries prioritise vocal ability and song composition above all else. Also worth pointing out Nemo won 2 out of the 3 Bezancon awards before the show for best composed song and best artist from peers - very much speaks volumes.

We (living in the US but originally from Europe) invited a family friend and her kids to watch the contest with us. None of us had looked into this year's performers or songs beforehand, but my child happens to be non-binary, and so are both of our friend's kids.
It's genuinely the most memorable ESC ever for me, with these three kids unexpectedly seeing themselves represented before such an enormous audience and then - predictably - flipping out when Nemo won. The fact that I immediately loved the song was really just a bonus.

This makes me so happy. As a non-binary person that is over 50 and has outed only to close friends and some family members (and the people in the community, but we meet in safe spaces without the people from our everyday lives) it is so heartwarming that it's easier for young people today.
As older members of the community, we are there for young people to talk. And sometimes we, that grew up as women teach young "men" how to do makeup and walk in heels or choosing dresses. Very practical skills😅.
I often go buy female clothing for queer people and they are mostly to small for me. The way they always try to explain to me that it's not my size. Politely 😂😂😂😂
16 years ago, we also started a group that offers workshops for teachers, psychologists, and other counseling professionals.
But we didn't have the impact Nemo has. And finally, there is more research, more awareness, more support❤

Sad Croatia didn't win (cuz it would be dope for Zagreb 2025) BUT Switzerland winning was great news, Switzerland was my fave entry (among Croatia and Ireland). :)
Baby Lasagna will be a good fire under the ass of the Balkans, it might give us a boost and we might try even harder now, even might make some countries in the Balkans to return due to the success of Croatia (Bosnia and Montenegro specifically). :)
I personally think that the jury are there to balance out the mass voting of lobbyists but also add some professionalism to the mix.
What I loved about this year the most was the fact that EBU didn't expect the venue would boo Martin so much and weren't able to use the anti-booing tech. :) It's a shame that Joost was so willy nilly disqualified based on allegations while the KAN delegation bullied Bambie Thug and nothing came of that. :/
Yeah it was a really hectic year with so much happening and a bit sad we didn't get a Balkan win but still an overall positive story 🤍🤍
I normally agree with the Jury vote more than the Televote and this year that definitely happened doubly so. My Top 6 came 1, 2, 4, 10, 5, 7 in order in the Jury Vote compared to 5, 4, 7, 19, 3, 20 in order in the Televote lol.
Nemo is a GOAT, Legend, Icon and that song is one of my all time faves ever. Yes yes yes yes yes. Thrilled it won. Thrilled.

I like the song, but their win makes me sad 😔. I saw in Croatia's potential victory a chance to revive Eurovision in The Balkans/The former Yugoslav countries, and East Central Europe. 😔I was hoping his victory would perhaps encourage Bosnia & Herzegovina, North Macedonia, and/or Montenegro to return, as well as Hungary.😔

You and the Tea folks need to ask about the voting irregularities for the Public Votes. I’ve seen posts about people admitting to giving 20 votes with 3 different Credit Cards from 3 different countries for one country who got high votes from countries like Netherlands, Ireland, Australia, UK etc.
If you have 60/40 voting and you have 10 in a jury, you’re giving more people less power. Either make it 10 in a jury and 50/50 vote, or have 5 in a jury and 60/40 vote.
In my opinion there should be 100% juries instead if there should be 100% of something since the televotes can't behave properly.
Either that or 50/50, nothing less because more than 50% televotes would be a horrible thing for Eurovisions future.
And I'm so tired of people making it seem like the televotes winner never wins even tho they did that in 2022, 2021, 2018, 2017, 2014, 2013, 2012, 2011, 2010 etc. It would be extremly boring if only the televotes winner won all the time. In 2019 & 2016 the winner didn't win any of the votings.
And just like last year with Finland/Sweden people are making it seem like the juries gave Croatia 0 points & the televotes gave Switzerland 0 points. Switzerland has been a favorite to win for months now and Switzerland got to 1st place in the "my eurovision scoreboard" on thursday so I don't understand why people are so mad. Also, your personal favorite can't always win and no one from Eurovision is forcing you to vote and it's a competition so people should know that there's is a possibility that the ones that vote for might not win, I voted 20 times for Latvia last year for example and they didn't even qualify so I spent that money on a song that I didn't get to see in the grand final (they would have qualified with 50% juries tho).
Every year the winner gets hate, but Loreen, Nemo and Conchita Wurst are the ones who has gotten the most hate. Supporters of Baby Lasagna and others has been so disgusting towards Nemo and I know a lot of people who didn't even like Croatia voted for it to make sure that Israel wouldn't win, so a lot of Croatia's votes came from people who didn't even like it that much or not at all because people made peer pressure in Facebook groups that made people think that Croatia was the only country that could save this when they should've knows he wasn't going to win and I said from the beginning that the juries would put him at 3rd place or lower and that the jury winner was going to be Switzerland or France.
300+ points for 3 countries has never happened before, and just like last year fan favorites flopped because people were too busy fighting over voting for Israel, Croatia & Ukraine (I loved Ukraine tho, but they onlybgot 1 vote from me, and Croatia & Israel wasn't horrible, but it's clear that there's were people who tried making sure Israel wasn't going to win so they voted for Croatia & Ukraine a lot because that's the ones people thought/got told had the biggest chance). So this year is another year that shows clearly why we need atleast 50% jury votes.

No, because juries wont fill your arena for a concert, public will. When you look televote winners throughout the years they are almost all better than jury winner. Jury winner is always predictable, never voting some different stuff

In my opinion, it was clear that Switzerland will win after their first performance in Malmo. I think Baby Lasagna could have won more jury points, had they worked more on staging. But they kept it almost the same as it was in Croatian national selection. I don't know if it was a financing issue and they simply couldn't afford staging something more artistically sophisticated and tasteful, or they just relaxed too early after seeing the betting odds. Croatian staging should have been much better in order to cover the gap in the level of vocals between Marco and Nemo. It is sad that Eurovision is not returning to the Balkans next year, though.
I agree. And the combination with the name and the title was a reason too. People that watched only the final at my watch party thought, Baby Lasagna was a joke name. And they kind of laughed about the title... Rimtimtimtimtag...

Unfortunately, the volume of the song was way too low
Last year 2023 I hated juries bc of the result my winner was Finland. Now I'm glad juries voted Switzerland to win. I really hope no Israel next year and EBU consider some changes to competition.
I would've been happy with Italy, France, Portugal, Serbia, Armenia, Croatia, Netherlands, Norway, Lithuania, Greece, Switzerland, Slovenia or Ireland winning. This was a fantastic year.
I think if the jury vote is canceled, there should also be canges in the televoting.
1. Voting costs and if a community or a movement or even a country (a religion, a company, a political party) can buy votes by paying for all the members for voting.
2. There are countries with a strong diaspora. Italy is famous for getting many votes (not every year) from Italians abroad. I know, because I am one of them. People do not vote for the song they like best but for their nation.
3. There are people with more than one credit card and phone number. Cheating is easy.
4. If there is only televoting, we go back to this troll entries. Because countries choose to get remembered instead of having quality songs. Because they have to impress average people not professionals. And then, serious artists won't go to Eurovision anymore.
And then a very personal reason. I am a professional in my job. We all are. Nobody likes it, when people that have no clue judge us or want to tell us what a good job is. I suppose, good singers do not want to go to a contest where only people with no clue vote.

Ponosna sam na Marka ali voljela da je izgubio od nekog drugog. Ne zato što je Nemo loša osoba ili ima lošu pjesmu. The Code je umjetničko djelo na svim razinama od teksta do scenske izvedbe, nego zato što balkanska homofobija sada dolazi do punog izražaja.
Žao mi je sve lgbtq djece u ex yu koja sad moraju čitati i, još gore, slušati od svojih bližnjih homofobne gadarije.
Normalno da dolazi do izrazaja kada se uvek takve pesme i osobe kotiraju visoko, prave cirkus svake godine sve veci. Ako zele da bude deo 'normalnog' sveta onda zasto svima nabijaju na nos zastave i suknje. Mozda je npr Francuz gej, ali to nije pokazivao nego se fokusira na umentost.
