These are always great fun to make, I often paint them with metallic or glitter nail polish which makes them more rigid and gives them a 'clatter' sound when used in dangles.

The universe teaches us always! LOL! Sometimes we just don’t get it,so it must teach us over and over! I am a slow learner! 😢I love paper beads. I coat them with fingernail polish, clear or glitter to make sure they hold up. ☺️ Pam all your beads turned out so beautiful. My favorites are the music paper with the gold. The gold set them off nicely. Adding words is cool too! Sonny, my girl Bayley, used to lay on my feet while I would craft and she would wake up covered is paper bits and glitter! I miss her a lot but have a puppy named Maggie. I am hoping she will outgrow the puppy stage soon and stop eating my crafts! I really love having a craft buddy! 🐩🐩🐩

Like making these when don't want to think too much, any small scraps will do. Particularly like those music paper ones. Old xmas wrapping paper works well and can be turned into tree decorations, paperclip danglers to add to gifts for extra bit of oomph and xmas earring danglers too, imaginations the limit really.
Big hugs to you and the family Pam, love from Victoria in England xxx😘👍🇬🇧

I love this! I do STEM with kids and a favorite project is similar to this. Dowel Designs use sheets of newspaper. You cut 2” pieces of straws, tape a corner of the newspaper to the straw piece and roll diagonally. You’re left with one corner to tape or glue closed. Then the kids build structures using the dowels. I can see using coffee stirrers cut in small lengths and masking tape to get the beads started. You can just leave the coffee stirrer inside.

Lorie, I follow a UA-camrs who use this method to roll papers. She got my attention cuz she uses the rolled paper tubes like straw. She weaves them into beautiful woven pieces. My favorite is a round basket purse. She also makes a lot of desk organizers, It's definitely a great book page craft!

I like using squewer cuz you can leave them on and glaze (or whatever finish you use) all at 1X!!! I often use Diamond Glaze. I'm definitely going to do them like you do. Great ideas!!! I haven't made these for a couple years. Time to use up some scrap strips. I have used the whole length of the paper if it was thinner, but will have to try shorter pieces like you did. I also go one step further and coat mine with Polyacrylic Minwax. That makes them sturdy and last, especially if one is carrying the book (or charms made from these) around. Love them all. ♥

I take adult coloring pages I did some years ago and cut them up to make beads. They are very colorful already!! I also cut the paper on an angle, like a long triangle starting at the wider end which makes the bead thinner on the ends and thicker in the middle so gives a different shape and look. You can experiment to see what you like best.

This is for anyone interested in using Braille paper. It's easy to make. All you need is cardstock & something with a small point. This can be as simple as a pen point, a large sized needle (darning/plastic canvas) or the end of a push pin. Use the point to make the Braille bumps, being careful to not punch a hole through the paper. Use this format to make it look authentic. All braille is written as a combination of 6 dots in a cell. The dots are arranged in 2 vertical rows. Check out a chart of the alphabet to get a better idea of how it looks

Hello Pam love to watch your videos would magazine paper work for making beads or would it be to thin

I've used it. Just pay attention to how the paper feels as you roll it. Thin papers require a few more wraps around your rolling tool.

Hi Pam & Sunny! As always, love your videos! Hey, I've been trying to find those little rings that you used (towards the end of the video) to put into the ends of the beads. What are those suckers called? I haven't been able to locate them. TFS

      Gail A.C:
Those are called grommets or eyelet. They are on on Amazon for about $10. That typically comes as a set that includes the grommet punch tool. But you can buy those separately.

You could color a few designs on the end before you roll, just be sure you begin on the naked end and roll toward the colored end.
