💙💙 I remember when this came out, it completely made me rethink the divide between mainstream music & punk rock! Which in retrospect is crazy, with how pervasive pop punk has remained since then
@@toddbarriage Right?! It makes me happy seeing pop punk all over the place. I unfortunately only grew up with rap/pop/oldies cause of my parents/grandma but once highschool came around, people were feeding me Metal, Punk, etc. This song (and FUSE channel) just opened my eyes to an amazing amount of music. Definitely was a wonderful find! Seen these guys 4 times and excited to see them in November again. Keep up the amazing work! :)

I am! I’m not sure exactly how it’ll be implemented as far as videos go, but the entire record (minus b-sides) will be streaming on March 11th. So if nothing else, you’ll be able to listen to my version of the spoken word that way. 100% making a video for This Time Imperfect, though!
All these are so incredible. How do you get that guitar tone? Jade had such a unique tone for this album and you’ve captured its essence so well. If I remember right, their producer said it was a mix of a dual rectifier and modded plexi with a 4 mic setup, and I always found that so interesting.
The chain was basically Les Paul Studio (Classic 57 bridge pickup) > Bias Amp 2 Plexi (I think it’s literally called modded Plexi) with the gain stages tweaked around a bit to make sure it broke up just right. Those changed a little each song, but it was always the same Plexi with the gain and EQs all around 6. I hate Mesa amps so I blended that with an identical Plexi emulation, just with the gain bumped up so it “did the Plexi thing” without sounding like donkey ass. SM57 and Roger 121 mic models, both where the dust cap meets the cone. It’s wild to me that I was able to pull this off entirely with plugins, like the drums were real and some of the cleans were real amps, but 98% of the guitar and 100% of the bass was all plugins!
@@toddbarriage That’s fantastic, and quite funny because the closest I’ve gotten to STS tone is also with Bias! Haha. Again, fantastic covers, they really do the greatest album of all time justice, in every way.

Like others I am beyond stoked for Death of Seasons... but if I can (presumptuously) add a request: Please continue on with some of the B-sides from the StS era. Now the World, Reiver's Song, Synesthesia -- these are some of the best AFI tracks (best tracks period!) for my money. Would love to hear your renditions. Keep up the amazing work bro... once again, you have a huge fan in me!
