The Housemaid was “okay “. Didn’t bother to look at the other books of that series. The one book that I hated, and still not over how bad it was.. “Five Years” by Rebecca Serle.
I've followed you on IG for some time love your content, idk why I never thought you had a YT! I'm so glad I've found you here! Love long form content!
I realllllyyyyy disliked The Paris Apartment. I powered through the book hoping it would get better at some point, and it didn’t get better until I realized I was finally done with it and able to close it 🤷🏼♀️
I just found your channel and love your content! Thank you for posting this video because book reviewers are too scared to speak anything but *positive* and it’s draining to watch, so thank you and I completely trust your judgement❤
Girl SAME about Mile High. I heard the rest of the books are better, but idk if I’m gonna read them either. The MCs totally didn’t seem like they liked each other, so the romance was so unbelievable to me. ALSO I felt very icky about how the Black characters were written. Something just felt… off. So I looked up Liz Tomforde & everything made sense.🙂
I read Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and I disliked it so much. I seriously felt like like I was the only one who didn't like this book but so refreshing to hear you dnf'd it cause I hear nothing but people praising this book.
I literally just picked up The Coven and it's seriously so poorly written and for some reason I didn't realize it was a dark romance going in (IT'S WRITTEN ON THE FIRST FEW PAGES😭) and i'm like. do i actually have to finish this because it's awful (i do not have to finish it)
I DNF more audiobooks than physical books. I get so much ick for books that have horrible audio books. I did love assistant to the villain and apprentice to the villain but the audiobook was rough. lol
I hated butcher and blackbird. I thought both the main charecters were insufferable and even though ut was described as being a dark romantic comedy, nothing was funny to me. I dnf at 130 pages because the ice cream part was enough for me. I also didn't enjoy the pumpkin spice cafe much. It was so slow at the beginning and i just didnt care about the noise outside the cafe. I finished it though but it just wasnt for me and i don't plan on reading the rest of the books.
Hey Jolie. I’m wanting to give anotation a try. I am mortified to write in my books. Help!! Any tips on how to start? Maybe a YT video explaining your progress or tips for a beginner who who is scared to deface her precious texts? I appreciate your time. Much love from Arkansas.
My least favorite book this year is a tie between The Forgotten Room by Karen White, Beatriz Williams, Lauren Willig. I kind of knew what was coming, but yet there was this potential twist that was going to make things weird, and it just felt weird by the end anyway. The second book was A Slow Fire Burning by Paula Hawkins. No one in this book was likable enough for me to care a lot about any of them. So it took me forever to read, and put me in a reading slump. And I kind of wanted all of them in jail at the end.
The Housemaids secret & a novel summer were my most hated. For the housemaid series I loved the first, hated the second and the third was ok. There’s a time jump which helped make the story a little different, which made it better. A novel summer while about books as well, I did audio and it was just rough honestly. Idk what about it made me not like it lol
I actually really liked The Paris Apartment. I primarily read physically since that's my preference but I listened to the audio for that one.. maybe it's worth a shot 😊 although I also listened to The Guest List and didn't like it.. I guessed who was doing what from the very beginning..
If you haven’t gotten rid of all these books yet, would you be willing to give them away or sell them to someone who’s trying to build up their library? I would love to take Assistant to the Villain off your hands. I’ve been looking high & low for the red sprayed edge version of it. 👀
everyone I know hates mile high! but the following books and their mmc’s are unmatched! seriously! Please continue because mile high cannot even compare to the following books😓
I've got a bit of a three-way tie for my least favorite books: -Interesting Facts About Space by Emily R. Austin (plotless and jumpy, and the chapters were too long) -Family Lore by Elizabeth Acevedo (too many characters on top of a dual timeline, and I only cared about the historical part) -A River Enchanted by Rebecca Ross (I was deeply unimpressed with the world building and characters...and the writing was not good, lol)
For me this year, I absolutely HATED The End We Start From by Megan Hunter. The writing style was awful, characters only being named after letters made it confusing, nothing really happened overall and I don't understand the praise it gets at all!
Birthday Girl by Penelope Douglas was my first and only DNF this year. Living the age gap romance so I thought I would enjoy it but noooo. Makes me not want to read any of her others that are on TBR 😅
Love your videos and your honesty! I agreed with a lot of this too, I didn’t like The Teacher or Crossed or the new Housemaid book. I need to get better about DNFing too!
The worst book I've read so far in my life is How to Become a Darklord and Die Trying. It was for book club with my friends. I thought the audio book could save it, but it made it 1000% worse.
I have heard from other people that the rest of the books in the Mile High (idk what it’s called) series is SO much better, but I have don’t know how true that is
Hated the epilogue of Leather and Lark. I couldn’t even finish it. I couldn’t understand why that was a thing to add in an epilogue, I wanted a sneak peek into book 3 or a funny cute ending not that. Definitely couldn’t invision Declan partaking in that scene.
I DNF’d all the colors of the dark by Chris Whitaker - I just found it too depressing to finish it. I do think you should read the newest housemaid book…. Much better than book number two in the series!! Give it a try!!
i love that you're a hater, hater girlies are so real😍 as for the paris apartment... honestly it's not worth reading it, i'm sorry😭 it's so damn underwhelming and when you start to pay attention to how MANY TIMES women describe the smell of SWEAT of men to be hot af you start getting concerned for the author lmaoo
I just started getting into reading and so far I have only DNFd one book which was The Last of the Moon Girls by Barbara Davis.. I just couldn’t get into it.. it was taking too long to get somewhere for me if that makes sense 🥴 lol
Butcher and Blackbird was super fun, I also didn’t like Leather and Lark. I actually f’ing hated it, it was AWFULLLL! i don’t understand how she could fall off so hard from the first book, i will not be bothering with the 3rd one lol.
I was talking about the way it was talked about. I don’t play about Jesus or God so I try to stay away from books that have heretical themes! Totally fine with religion being in books❤
A quick scroll through Goodreads and it’s easy to see the book is blasphemous…like things are done/said that really shouldn’t be. also, common misconception, but catholics are christian!
I read The Teacher... hated it. so passionately. decided that if the third Housemaid was bad, I'd be done with Freida forever. well, the third Housemaid was somehow worse than The Teacher so, goodbye, Freida!!! you will not be missed 🫶 also as for The Writing Retreat, I wish I had DNF'd. I finished it out because it was about writing and was an isolated, atmospheric thriller. and I even like thrillers with endings that are insane and twisty and ones you have to suspend your disbelief for. but that book is beyond ridiculous and not even in an entertaining way. so those were my 3 worst books of the year.
Her : I’m a lover but I’m a hater first …
Me : Immediately subscribes
The Housemaid was “okay “. Didn’t bother to look at the other books of that series.
The one book that I hated, and still not over how bad it was.. “Five Years” by Rebecca Serle.
Finally someone who doesn’t like seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo…. I did not like it either. Dnf
It was horrible
Yeah that booked was not good
I've followed you on IG for some time love your content, idk why I never thought you had a YT! I'm so glad I've found you here! Love long form content!

Same

Spiritual guidance is 💯 real!! If it makes me feel yucky, it’s an instant dnf! Thanks for voicing that:)
Random and silly question. How do you get rid of books you no longer want or read already ?
I love putting them in free librarys!! Or donate them to your local thrift store
Girl SAME about Mile High. I heard the rest of the books are better, but idk if I’m gonna read them either. The MCs totally didn’t seem like they liked each other, so the romance was so unbelievable to me.

I loved the audiobooks for assistant to the villain 😭

The inheritance games. It got too weird for me in the last 2 books. I wish I would have dnf the 2nd book
1000% agree about Ravenhood series, I DNFed Exodus. I just didn’t like any of the characters. 😂
Also, The Coven was not for me either.
My least favorite book this year is a tie between The Forgotten Room by Karen White, Beatriz Williams, Lauren Willig. I kind of knew what was coming, but yet there was this potential twist that was going to make things weird, and it just felt weird by the end anyway.

everyone I know hates mile high! but the following books and their mmc’s are unmatched! seriously! Please continue because mile high cannot even compare to the following books😓
The Paris apartment is NOT worth it. My God, what a waste of my time. And I looove reading thrillers but this one..just no
I've got a bit of a three-way tie for my least favorite books:
-Interesting Facts About Space by Emily R. Austin (plotless and jumpy, and the chapters were too long)
-Family Lore by Elizabeth Acevedo (too many characters on top of a dual timeline, and I only cared about the historical part)
-A River Enchanted by Rebecca Ross (I was deeply unimpressed with the world building and characters...and the writing was not good, lol)
The Teacher was HORRIBLE 😭 and for some reason people ate it up ???
For me this year, I absolutely HATED The End We Start From by Megan Hunter. The writing style was awful, characters only being named after letters made it confusing, nothing really happened overall and I don't understand the praise it gets at all!
Birthday Girl by Penelope Douglas was my first and only DNF this year. Living the age gap romance so I thought I would enjoy it but noooo. Makes me not want to read any of her others that are on TBR 😅

The Friend Zone .... I don't like cheating tropes
The worst book I've read so far in my life is How to Become a Darklord and Die Trying. It was for book club with my friends. I thought the audio book could save it, but it made it 1000% worse.
I have heard from other people that the rest of the books in the Mile High (idk what it’s called) series is SO much better, but I have don’t know how true that is
1000% agree with the Housemaid series. I preordered the housemaid is watching and I wished I didn’t. 😑😒
I am so quick to DNF a book it’s not even funny sometimes 😂
Normal people was the worst book I read this year and I stand by that.
You have to read The Right Move and the others. I promiseee it’s so much better and worth it.
Living for your daily videos!
My most disappointing read was seven days in June by Tia Williams 🥴🥴
Hated the epilogue of Leather and Lark. I couldn’t even finish it. I couldn’t understand why that was a thing to add in an epilogue, I wanted a sneak peek into book 3 or a funny cute ending not that. Definitely couldn’t invision Declan partaking in that scene.
I DNF’d all the colors of the dark by Chris Whitaker - I just found it too depressing to finish it. I do think you should read the newest housemaid book…. Much better than book number two in the series!! Give it a try!!
I did not like "We used to Live Here" genuinely so confused I had no idea what was going on
Hated Paris apartment. The female main character was so incredibly stupid!! I was so irritated while reading it!
i love that you're a hater, hater girlies are so real😍 as for the paris apartment... honestly it's not worth reading it, i'm sorry😭 it's so damn underwhelming and when you start to pay attention to how MANY TIMES women describe the smell of SWEAT of men to be hot af you start getting concerned for the author lmaoo

I disliked the woman in cabin 10, the teacher (just gave ick), I didn't even bother picking up the 3rd book to the housemaid, and I also DNF the Coven
Butcher and Blackbird was super fun, I also didn’t like Leather and Lark. I actually f’ing hated it, it was AWFULLLL! i don’t understand how she could fall off so hard from the first book, i will not be bothering with the 3rd one lol.
my least favorite book of the year was you too can have a body like mine.... my only DNF so boring!
I HATED The Teacher, gave me the ick.
Also didn't like The Paris Apartment
Yea I DNF the teacher. Should I finish? No thank you.
I honestly did not like the Ravenhood series as well ! It just wasn't for me.
Hunting Adeline was my least favourite, that book was naaaaaasty
I agree l did not like The Paris apartment.Andbl love reading thrillers and mystery books.
I don't know how you finish a book you aren't enjoying. If I don't like the first 10 pages I put it down
Book I absolutely hated this year: Rouge😡
I couldn't get through Eleanor Oliphant is Completely fine
I think you need new sources for book selections. I’ve never heard of any of these.
❤❤❤
How do you afford all those damn books?
The devil wears scrubs was such a boring book
If you guys cannot read a book just because of a specific religion… that says a lot
Omg not me being firsttttt🤭
I read The Teacher... hated it. so passionately. decided that if the third Housemaid was bad, I'd be done with Freida forever. well, the third Housemaid was somehow worse than The Teacher so, goodbye, Freida!!! you will not be missed 🫶
