Oh my god I love this. The idea of unlocking skylanders with soul gems and being able to use the D-pad to select skylanders is such a good idea and provides a really good sense of balance. I also like the story of the prologue. Not only have I always wanted skylanders to have dialogue between each other, but including the ice queen from Chill's backstory and acknowledging that she was kidnapped and Chill was searching for her is a really nice attention to detail. Having skylander's backstories fleshed out in game is something I didn't even know I wanted. It's clear you did a lot of research and planning into this video and I have huge respect for it. I'm super excited for the next part for whenever that comes out. Keep up the good work, you got some serious talent when it comes to storytelling and even game design
1. I don't know why toys to life games and remasters always do digital only or toys only when it would be much better if we had the ability to use both the portal and whatever they choose for a digital option. 2. Getting Soul Gems to unlock Skylanders is a popular idea but such a flawed one as those with soul gems near the end of the game are unobtainable, also this means the "final findable upgrade" will always be unlocked for purchase. Bringing back quests and making it so you can unlock a new Skylander for every quest or two unlocked would be a better idea imo. 3. The DPad idea is unique but just going straight to the lego-like collection screen. 4. The difficulty idea is kinda cool 5. Battlecast isn't canon to the main timeline as it takes place in the second dimension and yes ROH isn't canon either. 6. The story is cool

my idea for a Skylanders 7, would be Skylanders Weapon Masters story summary: sometime after Kaos was defeated by the Imaginators and Senseis, he menaged to escape with his Portal Master magic, and unlike usual he doesn't show his giant floating head, he has learned and stays low, hidden, and for years (the same ammount as in the real world) and the Skylanders have been searching for him nonstop, resulting in Eon sending new Skylanders your way new Skylanders: 20 Weapon Masters (who have the power to turn magic items into weapons), 10 new Cores, 10 special cores, 10 scrapped Skylanders brought back as Scraplanders and 2 guest characters (Shovel Knight and Elora) levels: 10 big open areas to explore and do missions in (missions for each type of Skylander), with a mid-boss arena attached, behind that arena is a 2nd big area before you face the level boss (and you return to these several times), each level is themed after an element, with a Kaos themed one being unlocked at the end
With the question about Eon, why not keep it a mystery what happened to him. One morning he just disapeared. Leave it open to if he just left and retired or if his ghost finally faded away. Heck, if you wanted to you could have his fate be some kind of big revieal like maybe the Skylanders try to find him for help but he is completly gone, or he says he no longer has the power to help, or heck maybe even he was kidnapped by Kaos or some other big bad. Though I could also imagin him being in some secret where it's reviealed that he is just chilling in the afterlife on a recliner sipping tea and watching some TV, that could be a funny twist to him retiering. I'm actually ok with this game not needing figures and portals becasue while that was it's gimmick, people who are likely are going to want to play this are likely going to range from kids who don't have money and get nothing but Skylanders for gifts for the next few years(which was younger me) or returning veterains who genuinely loved the series dispite it's flaws and have adult things to do with their money and likely don't have their collection anymore(also me now). So yeah, having characters, Imaginator Options, Vehicles, and Villians as unlockables instead, that is a HUGE boost for freedom of play. I would say keeping the colecter's items special figures such as Legendarys and Dark versions(as well as many others) as something that those few people can just use and gloat about shouldn't be a part of the unlockable characters. At worse, make the figures and portal Optional. You can either go through the story as intended, OR you can just use your collection to complete the game 100% on your first playthrough....though now that I think about it, the portal for this game could be a tad big as it's trying to fit 5 Skylanders, a possible Vehicle, and a possible item on it. 😅 I have very small critisms/thoughts for this theoretical game so I'll keep it breif: *First: I could see as a minour announce that the change of difficulty is in the Hub World rather then the Pause Menu as every other video game has an unspoken rule that diffculty is adjusted in the pause menu, but I can see the argument for it making the point of that option redundent. *Second: I would say hold off on using the Spyro and Cynder as I feel like a lot of Spyro fans felt like he was tacked onto the series just to sell copies. I wouldn't ignore them entierly, just feels like they should be built up a bit more and unlocked MUCH further into the game. Let the orginal Skylanders stand on their own two feet without their aid for a little while. Also, some respect to the Spyro series and it's characters should be a big part about it when we finally do interact with Spyro and Cynder when we get to them. Heck it would be kinda cool to see Hunter, Sargent Bird, and other playble side characters from those games as Skylanders(all be it be a bit harder to unlock) or major NPCs. Also, also, with a note about the crossover characters, I feel like they could have their own unlockable levels you can find in the game, like you need to find a certain amount of Crash related items and interacting with them before standing on a Bonus Level platform similar to one of his games, and similarly with finding certain Donky Kong and Mario related items before jumping into a barrel cannon. I don't think they should take you out of the current level(maybe just get you a small item like a Hat or Winged Saphire), but when you do come back to the hub world after finishing the level you should unlock it and be able to go to that level from the hub world just like the other DLC/Expansion levels. *Third: I was a tad bit scared from that intro, becasue I think the last thing this game needs is a big serious turn for the franchise, this is still a kid's game after all, a kid's game with story that is pretty damn well writen but still a kids game. Basically, have the writing keep the same tone as the rest of the games and the books.(I am curious about how that kid in the intro is going to play into this though.) *Fourth: I do feel like the expansion items should be something you get as well in game, but I don't know how they would work. If you read all the way through this, Thank You, this game was a massive part of my childhood and I love it when people get cretive with it :)
I’ve got an idea for an alternative way to unlock Skylanders. Older players who still have their collection could use their figures to unlock them. I imagine this working like the 3DS games where you find a portal or talk to an npc in the hub, that takes you to a screen prompting you to activate your portal and use a figure. You would only be able summon one Skylander at a time and switch Skylanders would still be the same as described in the video. New figures wouldn’t be made ether, so you would still need to find the Sole Gems to unlock the new Skylanders.
After thinking about it for a little bit I think this is how it should work. To access this feature you would need to find a teleporter in Skylanders Academe. You would be teleported to a secret area of the academe where you would find an npc (who vaguely resembles the Portal Masters from Ring of Heroes) standing next to a portal. When talking to the npc they would talk directly to you (the player) and say that they’ve been trying to activate the portal for a very long time. They would explain that Portal Masters from Earth used portals to summon Skylanders to stop Kaos from taking over Skylands. They would continue to explain that one of those Portal Masters might be able to help. They would ask if you were one of them. You would then be given a prompt asking you want to summon a Skylander. Selecting “No” would have the npc tell you that it’s ok and to come see them when you can activate the portal. Selecting “Yes” would take you a screen explaining how plug in a portal and summon a Skylander. After you’ve plugged in your portal you will be taken to the screen where you can place your Skylander on the portal and watch their Magic Moment. After that the npc would exclaim that you activated the portal and summoned a Skylander. They would then thank you for helping them and tell you that you’re welcome to come back anytime to summon more Skylanders.
Soul gems to unlock actual Skylanders is pretty clever. I like it. I do have the new gimmick Skylanders being the scrapped shapeshifters(swappable hears, arms, legs, and body)., id call them the Mixer-Uppers.
You had me won over with the Soul Gem/scrapping the Portal concept. That’s EXACTLY what I’ve been thinking recently for a SSA remaster. My only differences was having the Magic Items set to down on the D-pad; so you take three Skylanders into a level instead of four, and you would not be able to change Skylanders per level in the main hub - maybe by visiting Eon or something.
OK first off this is sick as hell! The story already has me engaged and the character interactions are on point! 3:59 - 4:58 Interesting, this kinda reminds me of a similar concept used in Ben 10 Ultimate Alien Cosmic Destruction. In the game you had a roster of aliens to choose from and each level you’d have a total of 4 aliens to pick from during the level. 3 were required to progress through the level and 1 was optional and you could use them strictly for fighting or if you just like that particular alien. I don’t see too many games use this concept so it’s pretty cool to see it again!

I'm fairly sure this idea will be hated on, but I would be interested to see how the past 9 years has affected some of the characters in terms of age. For example, I think a cool thing would be for the dragon characters (Spyro, Cynder, Drobot, Bash, Sunburn, etc) to take on appearances more reminiscent of the adult dragons from the reignited trilogy. Without Master Eon to guide them, they've had to grow into the leaders the Skylanders need. Other cases could be Pop Fizz having more control over his beast mode, or for Tree Rex to have more foliage to form a beard or something.
I honestly like the idea of Eon being retired soley because that if he's going to die then you might as well make him die in a more memorable and emotional way
I always thought it would be cool if the characters would be unlockable in game, and then for marketing, they could make the Skylanders action figures. The fact they never had action figures always seemed like a big miss in my opinion
Here’s some ideas, we could use a level where we fight Gorilla Goos as enemies, maybe make it the ruins of Grilla Drilla’s kingdom, also Arkeyan levels, Ancients levels, a Wilikin level, maybe a level entirely made of candy set in the Chocolate Ocean referenced in Giants with candy and soda themed enemies and gingerbread men, a futuristic city level set in a distant part of Skylands, also maybe a level set where the Skylander has to go inside a Giant monster and fight their way through the creature’s body. Also a have Evilon return for revenge, that would be cool. Oh also do something with Gigantus to explain what happened to him and where he’s been all this time. He went missing after jumping into a Chompy Pit in Time of the Giants over 10,000 years ago. Also have Story Scrolls and introduce Skystones at some point around level 4 or 5.
Spyro should have a special feature like the giants, swap force, trap team, superchargers, and senseis. Spyro can easily have the D-pad used to switch his movesets based on the attacks he had in the Legend of Spyro games. I think going the route of the Lego games would work better for swapping characters. In the lego games prior to Skywalker Saga, the character selection has characters with multiple appearances be put in a sub menu and selecting it through toggling the L and R buttons. The Swap Force would function like that. The Lego method of swapping characters in Free Play would work better, expanding the number of Skylanders able to be taken to each level would expand from four or five to eight. Spyro’s and Cynder’s main element would change to Aether from the Legend of Spyro games. Spyro’s moveset (or secondary element) swap mechanic would use left and right on the d-pad (Cynder would have this too due to her coming from the Legend of Spyro trilogy), cycling through the elements of fire, water, air, and earth for attacks and dual element Aether elemental gates. Spyro’s secondary elements being Fire, water, air, and earth reflect his elemental abilities from Legend of Spyro being fire, ice, electricity, and earth. For Cynder, the element swap mechanic would reflect her elements from the LoS games being shadow, wind, poison, and fear. Shadow is evidently the dark element, poison can be either life or undead, wind is wind, and fear would definitely be undead. Up and down on the d-pad will be for toggling the Dark variant on and off for Skylanders with Dark variants. If the lore says that the Dark variant is a transformation that the Skylander can utilize, make it a part of the moveset and not a separate character. When the normal form takes one upgrade path, the dark variant will take the other. Though… how would a dark variant of Legendary Spyro look like?
I do have a quick idea for the story of the game, since you said this game takes place a long time after the events of the last games and that Eon would be too old and powerless to help the Skylanders anymore, I would think that as a parallel to that, Kaos would be older too. Instead of looking and acting like a little bratty kid who throws a tantrum anytime he fails to take over Skylands, he would grow older, wiser, and more powerful with age, like an adult, and acted more like on as well. This would make him feel like an actual threat against the Skylanders. Who knows maybe he's so old he's taller than Glumshakes now or something
oh god this video feels like a manga, i need to know what happens next and i would wait ten thousand years to see the next part (a suggestion for this is adding in certain npc's from previous games like spellslamzer and giving them small side quests you can do to get certain collectibles and hats but also have certain quests clash with each other like making count moneybones have a quest to rob someone but a skylander like robow gives a quest to arrest the count so he can be taken to a rebuilt cloud cracker prison. also eon should be alive, but on his last legs so that midway through the story he can die setting up a new plot point)
a small change to the story have the boy at the start of the game be more hidden in gender if there suppose to be the player avatar, and if they are make it be there would be options on your look clothes, hair both the style and color, and even skin color
Ngl, I've been on the Skylanders nostalgia train and was thinking of a theoretical fighting game named after Skylanders old "Battle Arena" mode, and seeing this just gives me the idea to also imagine a Skylanders 7, and I'll be sure to watch this series of videos through to the end to see what your take on a Skylanders 7 could be like.
you're a funny idea if you're playing Co-op. and if you have the original portal and the figures of Eruptor and Zook. Zook unique line saying "you know what instead of explaining. I'll just show you how to do it myself"
I love all these ideas so much! The skylanders actually beeing characterized(and better/more heroic than Imaginators) is something I've been wishing for a long time! Ik the comics exist but a ton of skylanders are still left in the background sadly. I would honestly love if Malefor was the main villain and the dragons would be pushed into the focus(especially Sunburn should be). Some Skylanders should also get improved movesets. Anyone who is winged should be able to fly by "double jumping" and replace the old flying ability with something new(f.e: Whirldwind could get the Dash attack she has on 3DS).

Neon Batteries, I’m currently writing a skylanders story as well. I was thinking about certain skylanders getting their own story in a separate level aka dlc. One thing about eon dying, If he does die I think aurora would be a right fit due to her being his niece. I would be more than happy to try and help from a writer to another.
For the light and dark giants I think a arkeyan esk level/ruins like a prison to hold dissenters could work although why and how the player gets there could be a relic quest or whatever you wish.
Dude I hope the dark giant is a goliath drow. Think about it, it will add an elf who isn't thinner than a stick and drow are elves who accept the darkness. So a drow would be of the dark element
I’ve been thinking about how skylanders could comeback, and I always thought that, while the collection aspect was really cool, I just can’t see them bringing it back as is. So I thought about using the sole gems to unlock characters too. It’s nice to see someone else also thinks it’s a nice idea. I would want eon to be retired, but that’s probably because I don’t want characters to die. But I also think eon would be the type of person to keep protecting skylands until he just physically couldn’t so we would probably die before he retires
I would definitely play this game, it not only expands on the story of Skylands but also adds new mechanics that I think were lacking in the main games like banter between skylanders and how they actually work together
Unlocking Skylanders at the end of certain levels could also work if it's in the main story, for example the powers relating to eye brawl's eye (and other things) got absorbed by something. Leaving the eye rolling around on the floor before it (and whatever else) is restored by the skylanders
I think Eon should just be retired and be there but not have a direct hand in the story As an idea, what if there were more enemies and the skylanders were all there fighting, sort of how GTA switches between characters in missions
Story ideal the bad guy is trying to kidnap all the doom raiders and try to corrupt them to be bad again some how or he want to kidnap them and you their evil ideas to do even worst things to conquer or destroy Skylands .and in the game you try to go save and rescue the doom lands all over the Skylands

I think if we have a reboot it should be turned into a platformer series with groups of 3 or 4 skylanders. I mean we have 167 we can use for this. and have a connecting storyline with Malefor as the big bad. I’d love to see one with Flynn and Sharpfin getting in misadventures and finding out about Malefor’s plot. I don’t think we can use the toys to life feature for this. And instead of upgrades we can have small skill trees for each skylander. Or maybe a branch for upgrades for each one
3:00 it always seemed wired to me that people are screaming at something that adds gameplay and cost mony but still pay skins (like all of the money of epic come from just 3 guys on paint that change a color or 2 once in a while) i don't mind gacha since you have a chance to get a new gameplay but why skins are still popular???

I'm not sure how I feel about the game world and the real world being separated like that, I think it disconnects itself from the other games a little too much, but I'd like to see where this story goes.
Interesting, a Sky Landers 7. As for voting for Eon's fate? I say both, retire then pass on. Or have 2 timelines [like Zelda] The Retired timeline & the Perish timeline. Other ideas include Eon's successor, & Kao's in the form of a new evil empire, that caused the destruction of portals hence the soul gems. & Having Cameos & alliances of other VG characters [both heroes & villains] Such as Spyro, Crash, DK, Mario, Sonic, ETC. Anyway those could be fun ingredients for your project.
If you have the figures then good on you, instead of unlocking them in game you can just scan the ones you have. Just do what the Nintendo switch version did for imaginators
I honestly think it makes sense if it was more classic lego game with the character selection, the toys to live concept has declined a lot and if they tried they would need to reboot the series because of how long it was. I mean honestly a reboot might not be exactly bad
(repost bc I think my comment got deleted) The being able to unlock Skylanders by getting their soul gems instead of having to own them physically is the smartest move honestly. Also, if you're taking suggestions for a bit of world building, I always thought that it would be very cool if the special teams' captains (Tree-Rex, Wash buckler, Snapshot, Spitfire and King Pen) had like council meetings where they discussed strategies against enemies or academy stuff.
This is great fan fic content bringing together a lot of the side content. However, it also shows me just how much this series changed since the games I grew up with (the first 2). To me, plot was never a significant aspect of these games. Much more it was the world building, the plot just being an excuse to introduce a bunch of places to get the kids' imagination going. Plus, from what I can tell, SA is the only game with this lovely darkness to it all. The worlds you visit each having their own dark themes, destruction from war, mass industrial eradication, wide reaching pollution, the dead terrorising the living as they simply do not comprehend the harm they pose, plus the mole guy getting more passive aggressive and opportunist as the game goes on. Something the games clearly lost as it went on.

I very much loved this video! An idea for a boss i have is a Cyclops Raid Leader, who has three versions, which each use different weapons. you fight three cyclops leaders at different points of the story, and maybe back-to-back in a sort of Area battle. First one works like a Brawlbuckler, with the leader having an axe and shield with a three-hit combo before becoming vulnerable. Second has a massive Greataxe, much like the Axecutioners of Giants, except it can also spin like a Mohawk Cyclops. The third one uses petrified darkness on himself to use eye-lasers and dash attacks, but can concuss himself on the walls, like the Evilized Sugarbat. What do you think?
Just a small suggestion but it might be a decent idea if this was a real project to cut some of the roster, or at least save a few skylanders for the dlc. It would save quite a bit of development time and money to lose some of the less memorable skylanders in favor of putting more polish on the ones you’re bringing back. I know that I’m not making any friends here by suggesting this as Activision has tried cutting skylanders before to mixed results but it’s just a thought.

Let the orginal Skylanders stand on their own two feet without their aid for a little while. Also, some respect to the Spyro series and it's characters should be a big part about it when we finally do interact with Spyro and Cynder when we get to them. Heck it would be kinda cool to see Hunter, Sargent Bird, and other playble side characters from those games as Skylanders(all be it be a bit harder to unlock) or major NPCs.
Also, also, with a note about the crossover characters, I feel like they could have their own unlockable levels you can find in the game, like you need to find a certain amount of Crash related items and interacting with them before standing on a Bonus Level platform similar to one of his games, and similarly with finding certain Donky Kong and Mario related items before jumping into a barrel cannon. I don't think they should take you out of the current level(maybe just get you a small item like a Hat or Winged Saphire), but when you do come back to the hub world after finishing the level you should unlock it and be able to go to that level from the hub world just like the other DLC/Expansion levels.
*Third: I was a tad bit scared from that intro, becasue I think the last thing this game needs is a big serious turn for the franchise, this is still a kid's game after all, a kid's game with story that is pretty damn well writen but still a kids game. Basically, have the writing keep the same tone as the rest of the games and the books.(I am curious about how that kid in the intro is going to play into this though.)
*Fourth: I do feel like the expansion items should be something you get as well in game, but I don't know how they would work.

I’ve got an idea for an alternative way to unlock Skylanders. Older players who still have their collection could use their figures to unlock them. I imagine this working like the 3DS games where you find a portal or talk to an npc in the hub, that takes you to a screen prompting you to activate your portal and use a figure. You would only be able summon one Skylander at a time and switch Skylanders would still be the same as described in the video. New figures wouldn’t be made ether, so you would still need to find the Sole Gems to unlock the new Skylanders.
After thinking about it for a little bit I think this is how it should work.
To access this feature you would need to find a
teleporter in Skylanders Academe. You would be teleported to a secret area of the academe where you would find an npc (who vaguely resembles the Portal Masters from Ring of Heroes) standing next to a portal. When talking to the npc they would talk directly to you (the player) and say that they’ve been trying to activate the portal for a very long time. They would explain that Portal Masters from Earth used portals to summon Skylanders to stop Kaos from taking over Skylands. They would continue to explain that one of those Portal Masters might be able to help. They would ask if you were one of them. You would then be given a prompt asking you want to summon a Skylander. Selecting “No” would have the npc tell you that it’s ok and to come see them when you can activate the portal. Selecting “Yes” would take you a screen explaining how plug in a portal and summon a Skylander. After you’ve plugged in your portal you will be taken to the screen where you can place your Skylander on the portal and watch their Magic Moment. After that the npc would exclaim that you activated the portal and summoned a Skylander. They would then thank you for helping them and tell you that you’re welcome to come back anytime to summon more Skylanders.
Soul gems to unlock actual Skylanders is pretty clever. I like it.
I do have the new gimmick Skylanders being the scrapped shapeshifters(swappable hears, arms, legs, and body)., id call them the Mixer-Uppers.
I think Eon should be retired because it'd be really funny to visit him and see him just watching TV in his pajamas or something.
You had me won over with the Soul Gem/scrapping the Portal concept.
That’s EXACTLY what I’ve been thinking recently for a SSA remaster.
My only differences was having the Magic Items set to down on the D-pad; so you take three Skylanders into a level instead of four, and you would not be able to change Skylanders per level in the main hub - maybe by visiting Eon or something.

3:59 - 4:58 Interesting, this kinda reminds me of a similar concept used in Ben 10 Ultimate Alien Cosmic Destruction. In the game you had a roster of aliens to choose from and each level you’d have a total of 4 aliens to pick from during the level. 3 were required to progress through the level and 1 was optional and you could use them strictly for fighting or if you just like that particular alien. I don’t see too many games use this concept so it’s pretty cool to see it again!

I'm fairly sure this idea will be hated on, but I would be interested to see how the past 9 years has affected some of the characters in terms of age. For example, I think a cool thing would be for the dragon characters (Spyro, Cynder, Drobot, Bash, Sunburn, etc) to take on appearances more reminiscent of the adult dragons from the reignited trilogy. Without Master Eon to guide them, they've had to grow into the leaders the Skylanders need. Other cases could be Pop Fizz having more control over his beast mode, or for Tree Rex to have more foliage to form a beard or something.

I honestly like the idea of Eon being retired soley because that if he's going to die then you might as well make him die in a more memorable and emotional way
I always thought it would be cool if the characters would be unlockable in game, and then for marketing, they could make the Skylanders action figures. The fact they never had action figures always seemed like a big miss in my opinion
Here’s some ideas, we could use a level where we fight Gorilla Goos as enemies, maybe make it the ruins of Grilla Drilla’s kingdom, also Arkeyan levels, Ancients levels, a Wilikin level, maybe a level entirely made of candy set in the Chocolate Ocean referenced in Giants with candy and soda themed enemies and gingerbread men, a futuristic city level set in a distant part of Skylands, also maybe a level set where the Skylander has to go inside a Giant monster and fight their way through the creature’s body. Also a have Evilon return for revenge, that would be cool. Oh also do something with Gigantus to explain what happened to him and where he’s been all this time. He went missing after jumping into a Chompy Pit in Time of the Giants over 10,000 years ago. Also have Story Scrolls and introduce Skystones at some point around level 4 or 5.
Spyro should have a special feature like the giants, swap force, trap team, superchargers, and senseis. Spyro can easily have the D-pad used to switch his movesets based on the attacks he had in the Legend of Spyro games. I think going the route of the Lego games would work better for swapping characters. In the lego games prior to Skywalker Saga, the character selection has characters with multiple appearances be put in a sub menu and selecting it through toggling the L and R buttons. The Swap Force would function like that. The Lego method of swapping characters in Free Play would work better, expanding the number of Skylanders able to be taken to each level would expand from four or five to eight. Spyro’s and Cynder’s main element would change to Aether from the Legend of Spyro games. Spyro’s moveset (or secondary element) swap mechanic would use left and right on the d-pad (Cynder would have this too due to her coming from the Legend of Spyro trilogy), cycling through the elements of fire, water, air, and earth for attacks and dual element Aether elemental gates. Spyro’s secondary elements being Fire, water, air, and earth reflect his elemental abilities from Legend of Spyro being fire, ice, electricity, and earth. For Cynder, the element swap mechanic would reflect her elements from the LoS games being shadow, wind, poison, and fear. Shadow is evidently the dark element, poison can be either life or undead, wind is wind, and fear would definitely be undead. Up and down on the d-pad will be for toggling the Dark variant on and off for Skylanders with Dark variants. If the lore says that the Dark variant is a transformation that the Skylander can utilize, make it a part of the moveset and not a separate character. When the normal form takes one upgrade path, the dark variant will take the other. Though… how would a dark variant of Legendary Spyro look like?
I do have a quick idea for the story of the game, since you said this game takes place a long time after the events of the last games and that Eon would be too old and powerless to help the Skylanders anymore, I would think that as a parallel to that, Kaos would be older too. Instead of looking and acting like a little bratty kid who throws a tantrum anytime he fails to take over Skylands, he would grow older, wiser, and more powerful with age, like an adult, and acted more like on as well. This would make him feel like an actual threat against the Skylanders. Who knows maybe he's so old he's taller than Glumshakes now or something
oh god this video feels like a manga, i need to know what happens next and i would wait ten thousand years to see the next part
(a suggestion for this is adding in certain npc's from previous games like spellslamzer and giving them small side quests you can do to get certain collectibles and hats but also have certain quests clash with each other like making count moneybones have a quest to rob someone but a skylander like robow gives a quest to arrest the count so he can be taken to a rebuilt cloud cracker prison. also eon should be alive, but on his last legs so that midway through the story he can die setting up a new plot point)
This would be awesome. Being able to play all the skylander even if you don't own them would be amazing for a returning game.
a small change to the story have the boy at the start of the game be more hidden in gender if there suppose to be the player avatar, and if they are make it be there would be options on your look clothes, hair both the style and color, and even skin color
Ngl, I've been on the Skylanders nostalgia train and was thinking of a theoretical fighting game named after Skylanders old "Battle Arena" mode, and seeing this just gives me the idea to also imagine a Skylanders 7, and I'll be sure to watch this series of videos through to the end to see what your take on a Skylanders 7 could be like.

I love all these ideas so much! The skylanders actually beeing characterized(and better/more heroic than Imaginators) is something I've been wishing for a long time! Ik the comics exist but a ton of skylanders are still left in the background sadly.
I would honestly love if Malefor was the main villain and the dragons would be pushed into the focus(especially Sunburn should be).
Some Skylanders should also get improved movesets. Anyone who is winged should be able to fly by "double jumping" and replace the old flying ability with something new(f.e: Whirldwind could get the Dash attack she has on 3DS).
This.was.AWSOME! The story and game play feel nostalgic and familiar but also new and fresh for the series, I loved how you included sources from chills backstory along with your way of story telling I can’t wait for next part keep up the great work

Neon Batteries, I’m currently writing a skylanders story as well. I was thinking about certain skylanders getting their own story in a separate level aka dlc. One thing about eon dying, If he does die I think aurora would be a right fit due to her being his niece. I would be more than happy to try and help from a writer to another.

For the light and dark giants I think a arkeyan esk level/ruins like a prison to hold dissenters could work although why and how the player gets there could be a relic quest or whatever you wish.
Dude I hope the dark giant is a goliath drow. Think about it, it will add an elf who isn't thinner than a stick and drow are elves who accept the darkness. So a drow would be of the dark element
I’ve been thinking about how skylanders could comeback, and I always thought that, while the collection aspect was really cool, I just can’t see them bringing it back as is. So I thought about using the sole gems to unlock characters too. It’s nice to see someone else also thinks it’s a nice idea.
I would want eon to be retired, but that’s probably because I don’t want characters to die. But I also think eon would be the type of person to keep protecting skylands until he just physically couldn’t so we would probably die before he retires
I would definitely play this game, it not only expands on the story of Skylands but also adds new mechanics that I think were lacking in the main games like banter between skylanders and how they actually work together
Unlocking Skylanders at the end of certain levels could also work if it's in the main story, for example the powers relating to eye brawl's eye (and other things) got absorbed by something. Leaving the eye rolling around on the floor before it (and whatever else) is restored by the skylanders

I think if we have a reboot it should be turned into a platformer series with groups of 3 or 4 skylanders. I mean we have 167 we can use for this. and have a connecting storyline with Malefor as the big bad. I’d love to see one with Flynn and Sharpfin getting in misadventures and finding out about Malefor’s plot. I don’t think we can use the toys to life feature for this. And instead of upgrades we can have small skill trees for each skylander. Or maybe a branch for upgrades for each one

Interesting, a Sky Landers 7. As for voting for Eon's fate? I say both, retire then pass on. Or have 2 timelines [like Zelda] The Retired timeline & the Perish timeline. Other ideas include Eon's successor, & Kao's in the form of a new evil empire, that caused the destruction of portals hence the soul gems. & Having Cameos & alliances of other VG characters [both heroes & villains] Such as Spyro, Crash, DK, Mario, Sonic, ETC. Anyway those could be fun ingredients for your project.
If you have the figures then good on you, instead of unlocking them in game you can just scan the ones you have. Just do what the Nintendo switch version did for imaginators

The being able to unlock Skylanders by getting their soul gems instead of having to own them physically is the smartest move honestly.
Also, if you're taking suggestions for a bit of world building, I always thought that it would be very cool if the special teams' captains (Tree-Rex, Wash buckler, Snapshot, Spitfire and King Pen) had like council meetings where they discussed strategies against enemies or academy stuff.
This is great fan fic content bringing together a lot of the side content. However, it also shows me just how much this series changed since the games I grew up with (the first 2). To me, plot was never a significant aspect of these games. Much more it was the world building, the plot just being an excuse to introduce a bunch of places to get the kids' imagination going. Plus, from what I can tell, SA is the only game with this lovely darkness to it all. The worlds you visit each having their own dark themes, destruction from war, mass industrial eradication, wide reaching pollution, the dead terrorising the living as they simply do not comprehend the harm they pose, plus the mole guy getting more passive aggressive and opportunist as the game goes on. Something the games clearly lost as it went on.

An idea for a boss i have is a Cyclops Raid Leader, who has three versions, which each use different weapons. you fight three cyclops leaders at different points of the story, and maybe back-to-back in a sort of Area battle.
First one works like a Brawlbuckler, with the leader having an axe and shield with a three-hit combo before becoming vulnerable.
Second has a massive Greataxe, much like the Axecutioners of Giants, except it can also spin like a Mohawk Cyclops.
The third one uses petrified darkness on himself to use eye-lasers and dash attacks, but can concuss himself on the walls, like the Evilized Sugarbat.
What do you think?

Just a small suggestion but it might be a decent idea if this was a real project to cut some of the roster, or at least save a few skylanders for the dlc. It would save quite a bit of development time and money to lose some of the less memorable skylanders in favor of putting more polish on the ones you’re bringing back. I know that I’m not making any friends here by suggesting this as Activision has tried cutting skylanders before to mixed results but it’s just a thought.
