Hi. Do you think it is necessary to make the trip with a guide? It looks like just following the frequently used track. The problem with the guide is always the fixed datum and unpredictable weather for just this day.
Hi TenDee... it’s entirely up to you. Yes you could do it without a guide. The tracks are relatively easy to follow in good visibility. The high mountain guides are pretty fantastic, experienced, skilled and highly trained individuals though. The issue arises when visibility is not good, when the tracks aren’t just as clear and when sections of the snowpack are unstable or unpredictable weather.... we don’t carry transceivers just for the fun of it. As someone working towards IML status I always err on the safe side. Next time I do it I just have to remember to clip up my ski boots!!!! Unknowingly skiing with unclipped boots is made my descent a nightmare. 😥
Apologies... from memory it was a track downloaded from an on-line source for royalty free music. There is a chance the folder of music is still on my old Mac. I'll try and find it and post the track title if its there. Finding the right piece of music for a clip is probably the most challenging part of any edit.
I remember doing this 4 years ago. I had the brillianr idea to do it with a snowboard, as you can imagine i had to walk a lot! Still unforgettable
