RM Italy LA250 2 Meter VHF Amplifier Tour (Review?)

Not a lot of information on this amplifier that I found, so here you go. I don't think this is an exemplar device as it does have a few issues I hope to resolve with a replacement.

Interesting walk thru on the amp. After all the testing it does seem flakey and not working at all on SSB seems like a good enough reason to send it back. I would say that's a bummer but also not really because you should get the functionality you're paying for. Enjoyed the video, 73!

I have one of these and find it very temperamental. Im driving it with a IC 9700 and it needs to stay on AM/FM no matter what mode you're useing it also prefers 15v input as the ZL importer told me. if im on ssb I have the power on the 9700 at 18% no higher or it trips out but if im on digital I put it up to 25% which makes no sence. What power supply do you have powering this? Wire gauge connected to the amp?

Hey there Kyle - I tried a couple. A Diamond 40 amp switch mode, a Tripp-Lite 60 amp linear and eventually a car battery just to make sure it wasn't some odd RF. I started with #10 wire and then went to #6 about the same result.
