Yet another great instructional video. Thank you very much.
California native and I love the poppies can't wait to try.
Hi David -- Yes -- I was able to hear the roar of the wind [at about 11:17]. Sure hope things have quieted down for you guys today. Oooh, I added some things to my toolbox with this lesson -- how to keep my yellows bright -- yay -- the importance of how I hold my brush -- veddy interesting. As far as paint stiffening -- I have to laugh -- because I'm so slow -- my paints always do a lot of stiffening! Still practicing, though -- I'll get faster in time, I'm sure. The most exciting thing to me was your news that you'll be painting a landscape of California Poppies on the coastline -- my 'dream come true' landscape -- flowers -- waves -- and clouds!!! It doesn't get any better than that! Thank you so much for teaching -- I watch several of your lessons every single day (or a certain one several times in a day) -- and I find a gem (or six) every time I watch. Best regards to you and yours -- JV

Hello Mr. Jansen,
Enjoy your videos very much.
I recently began painting... And asked a question of someone who uses the Heritage paints. She said she only paints with your products now, as she enjoys them immensely.
One thing she said made me wonder though.
She said that after a year of the paint sitting in a lidded cup she was able to reconstitute the dried paint with extender and water.
I have some knowledge as to the chemical processes of paints and finishes and was a little surprised as I would have thought after a year the paints should be cured well past the point of being able to re-liquefy.
If this is true, what do you suggest people do to a completed painting to protect it from being reconstituted on the canvas?
Thank you
I think you misunderstand what she is saying. It is a lidded cup. A closed container. No oxygen. You can put the paint in a container and keep it for several years, especially if it has extender mixed in. This is no different than keeping the paint in a tube. When you put the paint on the canvas or board that is completely different. Heritage paint cures within 28 hours after applying to a canvas and it does not reconstitute. She is putting it in a container. Not on canvas surface.
@JansenArtEducation
You are correct. I misunderstood what she meant. Thank you for the clarification.
Again, very much enjoy your videos.
I am learning quite a bit.
Thank you
😊Poštovani gospodine Davide. Verujem da lepo objašnjavate i hvala vam na lepim slikama , ali kad bi bio prevod na srpskom bilo bi odlično. Pozdrav ❤❤❤
Dave.. got a question. I have noticed none (or most of) the pieces you do aren't the standard sizes of 5×7, 8×10, 11×14 or 16×20. Why is that? You know how hard it is to find frames in those odd sizes you do? 😂
People can paint them on any size they want. I do a lot of gallery painting on standard sizes. These paintings we frame so we like to do odd sizes for our collectors.
