Politically, it's a one-party state under President Isaias Afwerki, known for suppressing dissent and civil liberties. 1- because Pre. Obama coming to Ethiopia said that all Eritreans should be given a green card in the USA or Europe, this agitation caused many Eritreans to flee their country,
2-Eritrea was under brutal sanction by the US, its allies, and the UN without proof for decades. so plenty of Eritreans were unemployed due to economic problems created by the sanction & forced to leave their country.
