There Is a thing known as generational talent . They do things that no other rookies have historically done. Once they settle into the league their play transcends historical play and you know you are watching something special. Auriemma was a great coach. But for perspective, he had the pick of the greatest high school basketball players every year for years. That he think the WNBA was "disrespected" indicates how fragile WNBA egos are. Clark has people watching the WNBA. Which will accrue to every WNBA player. I bet Geno is glad Caitlin didn't elect to play another year of college ball like his girl, Paige. If so, Iowa would most likely have gone on to spank UConn again. I bet most athletes move on in life after completing their senior year. The big favor Caitlyn Clark did for the WNBA was to expose how bad the coaching is which exposes how bad the ownership is. With better coaching, most of the players could would be much better. The league is S-L-L-O-O-O-W-W-W! That's due to the coaches not doing the work to teach the players to move around in reaction to the situation. Clark makes a quick move and gets a lay-up. Too many of her assists are kick-outs to players open deep who fail to score on too many of her great passes. Clark can certainly get better too. She is light years ahead on talent. But she is already good enough to dominate. If you want to make the league more interesting, increase the coaching IQ. And take a look at the ownership problem. Reminds me of working for NPR and having to deal with the opera patrons who keep that genre on air to abysmal audiences due to being saddled by the ignorance and snobbery of the patrons. There is big money to be made by making the league better. These are not the owners and coaches interested in that. How smart can they be? They demand equal pay for playing 24 games a season but....WTF??? You get what you deserve.

I live in Africa and have never watched or followed any basketball until this year. CC made me a fan of her and her team - watching every game they play. I am not surprised at all by the impact she made in WNBA - she is very talented. Most of all - she has lovely attitude in general.

Geno should watch baseballs moneyball and get with furrther analysis and review of the play is occurring on the court. Gut feel does not get you by anymore. If you look at Caitlin, her muscular structure, strong but fashiiond for speed. I would guess that she has spent 3 times the time other players have spent with a ball in her hand. That sinued muscle structure is key her to resilience when being hit. It we get the WNBA on track along with the chicken referees, we will see real basketball. Athleticism does not care about our feelings. Geno apparently would have rejected her as a player and wasted a great resource.

Geno never created players. He only recuits the top 100 players. So the kids he gets are already the top class. He did really well at UCON until Caitlin put him and his team out of the play-offs. His ass still hurts from the spanking Caitlin put on him. And Caitlin didn't have the talent around her then as she does now! Caitlin exposed Geno. Imagine having a roster of 5 star players. Clark can take the knocks but is good enough to avoid many of them. As to the speed of the professional game there is no one quicker. As for the rest of the team there are other very good players and shooters and it is not a one woman band.
