Grahf is still one of the greatest antagonists in Square's massive library of characters. Mysterious, extremely powerful, intimidating, always kept you guessing as to his motives, and he made sure to have a dangerous opponent ready for you, whether it was himself or someone he powered up. All this while giving his famous dialog and standing imposingly somewhere in the scene as his overwhelming theme played.
Yeah that's right, but I think that his reasons aren't understood by the player until he comes to the end, because at the start of the game we don't know exactly what does it refer with "kill god"
Of all the antagonists and villains in Xenogears, Grahf is hands down the top of the mountain. From his introduction scene to the final battle with him, you can tell he meant business. Add on the knowledge of who he is and you understand his motivations perfectly. A true foil for Fei.
*I am Grahf, the seeker of power. Doth thou desire the power? My fist is the divine breath! Blossom, o fallen seed, and draw upon thy hidden powers!! Grant unto thee the power of the glorious 'Mother of Destruction'!* This line shows how serious Grahf is when he grants Fei's enemies power and makes sure he can overcome them.
This track plays as the music in the following battles, as well as the immediately prior and subsequent cutscenes: - Grahf on the Goliath airship. - The first phase of Alkanshel on the Yggdrasil II. - True Weltall in the Land of Bethlehem. It also plays as the music in the following cutscenes: - Grahf first introduces himself to Fei in the Aveh desert. - Grahf gives Vanderkaum, Stein and Shakhan the power near the Kislev border, on the Yggdrasil II and at the Ignas Gate repsectively. - Grahf taunts Fei after defeating him in Mahanon. - Grahf reveals himself as inhabiting the body of Khan Wong in The Land of Bethlehem.
Thanks for more great music, Square Enix! Xenogears was pretty good. Grafh was an interesting and cool looking character. Made me think about theater and the allegory of the cave
The 1st power: Damage repair and power amplification of current weapons The 2nd power: Invulnerability, which must be disabled The 3rd power: Correction of improper construction and reactive healing
@ Probably haste, to increase the number of turns an enemy can take; or unlimited ether, so the enemy can spam their strongest attacks. Or both 🤣🤣 For real though, the game should’ve given our heroes the ability to cast “invulnerability” for a duration of 5 turns or until disabled, after defeating Bishop Stone…
My name is Grahf, the seeker of power! Doth thou desire power? My fist is the divine breath. Blossom o fallen seed, and draw upon thy hidden powers! Grant unto the power of the glorious ‘mother of destruction’!
I’m not gonna get my hopes up, but if we get a remake (or, even just a remaster) of this absolute masterpiece I’ll run around my house shouting, “YES! YES! YES! Let’s Go!!!”
*I am doing a SEEKER OF POWER check in, showing support for one another. I need SIX Grahfs to post, not share, this message to show that you are always there to seek power if someone needs it. Let's go people!!*

I can not put into words how unsettled this song would make me feel. When you'd hear this song while playing the game, whatever was about to happen *wasn't* good. 😩
I'd pay a 500 bucks for a remake of Xenogears day one. full game no changes no censorship... just quality of life gameplay graphics and music enhancements.
Grahf always made me kind of chuckle. He's so fixed on THE POWER and then his Gear standing there, trying to look so badass. This game is so wonderfully silly and everyone else I knew took is so seriously. XG is over-the-top, convoluted, and in-places downright goofy. But that's what makes it endearing. It has that late '90s teenagers-think-this-is-deep charm.
Graf appearing standing on a mountain with the moon at his back is a 10/10 scene
That is the moment when my mouth dropped and I fell in love with the game as a kid. I knew I was in for something extremely special.

"Doust thou desire power?"
Grahf is such a great villain beacause you don't know until the end what he wants exactly, one of the best villains ever created
Yeah that's right, but I think that his reasons aren't understood by the player until he comes to the end, because at the start of the game we don't know exactly what does it refer with "kill god"
He's essentially one of best rivals imo.

A true foil for Fei.

Darth Vader got a poster of Grahf in his bedroom.
Nah he got the bed side picture too, swooning over a king
At least we know what kind of paper it was printed on.
I know where this comment is from 😂lol
😂
Ahahhaha😂 🔝🔝🔝
Scenes like this were fantastic. Like playing an anime rather than a game
Grahf standing in front of the moon is such an iconic shot! And the best part is that it’s the perfect shape for a UA-cam profile picture! 😂
Damn! Sick pfp man!! 😁👍
“堕ちたる種子”を開花させ、秘めたる力をつむぎ出す
美しき、滅びの母の力を!
生身で複数の巨大ロボット(ギア)を軽々と破壊できるヤバすぎるおっさん
最初グラーフを見た時、
怖いよりも格好いいが勝った子供時代。
グラーフの真似して友人の秘めたる力を
つむぎ出しまくってたなぁ。。。
この楽曲もまた迫力あって格好いいんだほんと。
Xenogears Remake please! This is the BEST PSX Jrpg
such a powerful and foreboding track!
Give me POWER!!

I wonder what 4th power would have been?

This is a certified hood classic.
We need a remake! Or at least a remaster 😁😁
GRAHF GOAT
Another title for the track:
Grahf, Emperor of Darkness
I’m not gonna get my hopes up, but if we get a remake (or, even just a remaster) of this absolute masterpiece I’ll run around my house shouting, “YES! YES! YES! Let’s Go!!!”
I'd love a simple port, nothing fancy. FF pixel remaster and then upcoming Suidoken go too far trying to modernize things.
*I am doing a SEEKER OF POWER check in, showing support for one another. I need SIX Grahfs to post, not share, this message to show that you are always there to seek power if someone needs it. Let's go people!!*

THIS is how you introduce a villain !!
*P, power... the power... I want it... I want the POWER!*
The "OH SHI-things are about to get real" song.
I can not put into words how unsettled this song would make me feel.

DOTH THOU DESIRE POWER
I desire the power
I wish they still knew how to make characters this great.
My fist is the divine breath
I'd pay a 500 bucks for a remake of Xenogears day one. full game no changes no censorship... just quality of life gameplay graphics and music enhancements.
PEAK CINEMA
my father? you mean my dad?
this is giving me some dark gundam vibes
I just wish we could still get parts 1-4 and 6 as it was originally conceptualized. I like the newer Xeno series but nothing beats the OG.
