Swansea City Association Football Club is a Welsh professional football club based in the city of Swansea, South Wales that plays in the Championship. Swansea City represents England when playing in European competitions, although they have represented Wales in the past. They play their home matches at the Liberty Stadium.
The club was founded in 1912 as Swansea Town and joined the Football League in 1921. The club changed their name in 1969, when it adopted the name Swansea City to reflect Swansea's new status as a city.
In 1981, the club were promoted to the original Football League First Division. It was during the following season they came close to winning the league title, but a decline then set near the season's end before finishing sixth, although a club record. It was from here the club suffered a relegation the season after, returning to the Football League Fourth Division a few seasons later, then narrowly avoided relegation to the Football Conference in 2003. Prior to playing home matches at the Liberty Stadium, the team had previously hosted at the Vetch Field. The Swansea City Supporters Society Ltd owns 20% of the club, with their involvement hailed by Supporters Direct as "the most high profile example of the involvement of a supporters' trust in the direct running of a club".
In 2011, Swansea were promoted to the English Premier League, becoming the first Welsh team to play in the top division since its formation in 1992. On 24 February 2013, Swansea beat Bradford City 5-0 to win the 2012-13 Football League Cup (the competition's highest ever winning margin for the final), winning the first major English trophy in the club's history and qualifying for the 2013-14 UEFA Europa League. - Спорт
No wonder his ankles were buggered, he never stopped belting the advertising boards.
lmao
never paid attention and now realized hes kicked holes into those screens! haha
Michu - cult hero. That Swansea team under Laudrup - class. That all-white home kit with the gold stripes and emblem - a thing of beauty.
The Swans' best kit, ever, in my opinion.
Looked like a Real Madrid kit lol
still remember the ball boy incident like it was yesterday :(
they become real madrid that season
That Swansea team with Laudrup as manager was class. Had a soft spot for them
We were really bloody good then. Shame the yanks have ruined us
@@ellissims7627 Change the bloody record. You whingers are making me sick.
@@MOGGS1942 we dont even whine. We just look back at the good. Actually all of the Swansea fans I ever see are just talking about the future. So shut the fuck up
You probably dont care at all but does anybody know of a way to log back into an instagram account..?
I stupidly lost my password. I appreciate any assistance you can offer me.
@Alan Matteo Instablaster =)
28 goals

1 Cult hero, a street will never forget kind of player
Streets will never forget Michu at Swansea. Certified Premier League cult hero that everyone could enjoy!
I don’t even support Swansea but Michu was my favourite striker ever and still is
So it's you and Haaland... 😉☺
Wierdo
@Rhino You can't even spell weirdo dummy.

2012-13 was a great season, Michu, Prime Gareth Bale, Prime Van Persie, Aguero, Luis Suarez, Rafael Van Der Vaart. What a crop of great players.
van der vaart and michu along with actual legends of the game😂
The magic disappeard with Laudrup..... what a team
Anyone who loves football can’t help but tear up watching this. Flash of Gold in the pan.
What a player. Could of been one of the worlds best if his career wasn't cut short. I remember these days when our club had passion. Spent cash and beat the best teams in the league. When swans could play any team and win when fans thought swans could even compete for top 5 finishes. Then our club got ruined by greed from owners. Lost our players and managers and we are still tumbling to this day. Zero pence spent on transfers since ownership. Millions in sales.
Quit moaning. Change the record.
@@MOGGS1942 facts hurt. No moaning just pure truth
@@richardjohansen9297 Swans' fans' have done nothing BUT moan about the owners, for a very long time. That's a fact. The Club is not tumbling, it's in transition, and patience is reg'd. What's this greed from owners nonsense ? They are businessmen, and The Swans' are a business venture. Give them some time to get the ship back on track, and you may be pleasantly surprised.
moggs Looks like you don’t know this club very well or even football very well. You have been tricked into thinking this is a transitional period when it’s shit excuses for owners who don’t care, nor have the funds to run a football club. Look at the players we have sold in the past few years. Then look at how much we’ve spent. We won’t stop complaining until the yanks either change or get the fuck out of our football club
@@samagostini1040 Actually it's not your Club, it's THEIRS. THEY own it, lock , stock and barrel. Assuming you are a paying customer you don't own ANY part of the Club, not even a blade of grass. Consequently, the owners can do what they like, when they like, and you, and other like minded people, can either accept that, or go follow Cardiff City. I don't need to actually know anything about football to put forward the foregoing, but you clearly know nothing about business. When YOU own th e Club, you can spend YOUR money on buying players. Until then, just quit moaning, as it's juvenile, and extremely tedious.
The streets will never forget.
I'm not a Swansea fan but this guy was on another level. His finishing ability was unreal. Such a tragic story with him too, could've been world class and could've take Swansea to the champions league
**Erling haaland liked that**
What a talented finisher, his combination of height, techniqe, composure and magical left foot made him an accomplished finisher, always capable of finding the back of the net. Too bad his right ankle never let him enjoy a full career, his type of strikers are very rare to find and have so much to offer to the sport.
Seeing Michu's goals for us always puts me in a good mood for the rest of the day 😃 love that man, absolute legend!
Wish he would’ve kept his form and didn’t suffer the injury, absolute stud of a striker so much fun to watch. Had an incredible time at Swansea
Miss his goals, Miss his celebration, Miss his passion. Swansea were lucky to have had him. Thank you Michu♥️
3:52 rip ankle. thats how it all started
Really?
No 😂😂🤣
@@samuelroberts9663 Okay 😅
Clueless..
@@andyc6542 it's a joke sherlock
This is why Erling Haaland idol to him
3:45 is my favourite Michu celebration. Was at that game and now looking back feel privileged to have seen that team live
Reason I became a fan of Swansea. This man was magic along with these teams. Kits are stunning 😍
You should see the crap we wear these days. Just like everything about us lately, looks cheap
That red - white - green socks away is awesome. Is that a nod to the Welsh flag?
I remember him playing, it wasn't long ago. So, why is the footage look like he played in early 90's?
I just saw again in 2020, Michu is an amazing player with a one-touch goal, his goal instinct is very sharp, happy to be able to watch you at Swansea. what a player what a man! goodluck for u michuuu🙏
What a player! I miss these days 😢
Michu with that celebration will live forever. From Chelsea fan who is watching his goal against Chelsea in League Cup 2012/2013
Scored against arsenal, man utd, liverpool, chelsea, tottenham, what a player he was
5:25 them arms tho
Ellis The Fortnite Gamer thats what she said
What a season that was.
That centenary season was magical. Felt like we could beat any team put in front of us. And going to Wembley to see them win the league Cup was special and then the following season in Europe was a joy to watch.
4:17 - What a goal, simply spetacular!
Hell of a team. Hell of a season and a wonderful kit. Gutted his injury killed his career cos he was class but always a Jack.
YJB
2012~15 Michu, Sigurdsson, Shelvey, Monk, Ki, Dyer, Angel, Williams, Davies, Chico, Cork, Jefferson, Routledge, Britton, Fabianski, Vorm, Ayew, Gomis. I really miss them
Pablo Hernandez & Bony aswell
My tears are happy tears...I promise 😭Everyone has at least one player/legend they look back on later in life and think “those were the days” and Michu will always be that for me. Shame injuries got in his way, he had a lot more to give.
Michu, along with Yaya Toure, at the time, were FPL beasts!! Midfielders who scored more goals than the majority of strikers!
What a player he was
Never forget Michu, he came to the Swans and ripped up the rule book, one of our very best, Michu
He was like from a different era. Reminded me of the players from the 90´s who had flair.
I love this player so much😂
I’m a united fan but I always had a lot of respect for Michu. I believe he used to be a top footballer
The streets will NEVER forget
5:08 why bro the ankle is bad enough
He just went mental idk why
beast with the left foot and unbeatable in the air 🔥🔥🔥
The streets will never forget this legend
i'm still on 2020 watching this video about one of the best strikers in PL. Brilliant Michu. Missing someone like him in Swansea.
From a spanish fan of Swansea City.
This guy was pure class
Best streets will never forget player 🐐
Full of confidence and passion Michu had
I love how he was apologetic after scoring against Valencia, because of he's Spanish background..😍😘
*his
Wdym background, he's Spanish outright
what a good old time
2013 and now i still remember he's celebration
*his
What a great Swansea team, from a Sunderland fan
I will remember this player for the rest of my life and I'm not even a Swansea fan. I was watching football randomly at that time and his play was mesmerizing to me even as a newbie watcher. This Swansea team too was class! I remember playing with Swansea and Michu in FIFA 13 career modes.
Ayyyee!! now I remember Michu after sooo many years with his consistent celebration style 😁
Happy birthday Michu! The streets, will definitely never forget you!
I dare you to name one of those goals that wasn't pure class. The man was automatic with his left foot.
PERFECT LEAGUE MANAGERS 2021

He was a phenomenon for a season or 2. Yjb yjb!!
Only one season.
Underrated!
Was a monster in his prime, shame injury ruined him.
💕💚ON FIRE💚💕
i know swansea from michu. when i remember swansea i alwys remember this iconic michu
Michu was one of the most exciting strikers ever in the EPL, so many great memories...
Las calles nunca lo olvidarán...
To the people saying he was a one season wonder, NO. It was his injuries, that's literally it, if injuries can make Fernando Torres look like an amateur they can make Michu look like a one season wonder. Why do I say this? Look at all the best frontmen in todays football, they all have traits and styles that Michu is the epitome of, they're unpredictable, quick to the touch, graceful and thy know how to position themselves and they can score goals from anywhere and anyhow, that is Michu in a nutshell, he would've succeeded if not for those injuries.
Phil Jones and Mustafi brilliant defender's 😂
This guy made me a fan of Swansea. I think now that he has retired from football due to injuries, the club should retire the number 9 shirt in his honor. I know it's a quite a great thing to ask, but it's the least they can do for a man who gave everything he had for a team he loved.
happy birthday michu
Jogava muita bola
Gold standard for FPL legend.
nice to michu
Baller
Miss michu 😭😭
