- Sorghum bicolor, also known as sorghum, is a diverse crop with varieties suited to different climates. Gina Cerimele describes the range of traits in Colorado State University’s sorghum plots and their significance. The Sorghum Conversion Program successfully adapted tropical sorghum to be able to flower in temperate climates, which has enabled exciting ongoing research to improve drought tolerance and disease resistance in temperate sorghum. Genebanking efforts to maintain sorghum collections have been essential to the crop's success.
