Parachute Colorado River Rock Hounding
Вставка
- Опубліковано 9 вер 2024
- Today I decided to try rock hounding in Parachute, CO on the Colorado River. Its just another spot on the same river. I did a few interesting finds some what similar to the other parts of the river I've hunted in the past. Most of the material I noticed worth was picking up was Pink Orthoclase Feldspar. Stay till the end to see the slide show of the best finds of the day cleaned up.

That's a nice area and you found nice yellow Jasper 👍
Thanks and that’s a favorite from that day.
@@RockHoundingAdventures I do like the yellow Jasper, on my recant vid I picked up a really nice red, yellow and a lil bit of green Jasper I'd say it was one of my best but I put in the tumbler so hope it turn out nice🤞
Check out those boots!
No more winter bare-foot creek crossing man?
Awesome vid man.
Lol 😜😂 yeah, for Christmas I got water wader boots and water shoes. Thanks for watching bro.
I really enjoyed this video. You take me back my childhood, and my Grandparents. They had beach front property in Shelton, Washington. Growing up with him and my mom looking for an agate.
Awesome, I’m glad my videos help bring you back. Bet that beach was wonderful for hunting.
I look forward to your videos. ROUND is a manmade shape. You never see a rock as round as a marble. Keep Hounding! PEACE
Agreed, an thanks for always watching and enjoying my content.
lots to chose from up there , really cool spot
Thanks man, yeah I’m trying to find as many spots along that river as I can to help others hunt. 🤘
That red sandstone ! is cool.
Agreed, I see that stuff so often.
Hi mate. It's a nice area many and beautiful rocks
Thank you bro.
Nice.
Thanks bro
I was in that very spot today, picked out a few to tumble. Slow in learning to ID rocks so really appreciate your help. Shared the link with some local friends as well.
If you ever need help send me a email (in bio) thanks for watching. Rock on 🤘
So true about what calls to you-you pass up so many that I would have grabbed in a second. Lol
Lol, I sometimes struggle really hard about not taking home the entire shore line 😂
Beautiful but cold looking. 🥶
It definitely was cold that day 😁
Cool video, I see waterproof boots lol
Lol your the third one commenting on them. 😂😜 I got those plus water shoes for Christmas. No more bare feet
Thank you for producing this video! Most of my route counting is at the southern end of the Colorado river from Yuma north to the Topok Gorge. There are terrific similarities in the rocks you are displaying . At 9:19 you show a Vandard material you identify as Unakite. Wow, that could’ve come straight out of Lake Havasu. It is a beautiful rock flawed by many fractures.
I wish I could share with you a photo that I took of 60 pieces that I just tumbled. All of them came from the Colorado river down here.
Yeah man, you ok I can send me a email rock_hounding_adventures@yahoo.com or shoot me a PM on IG or FB. I’d love to see your photo.
Nice video and nice rocks!!
Thanks man
another great video
Thanks for your support
Most Excellent!
Thanks for watching
Beautiful finds👍
Thanks bro
That unikite is cool! I’m going hunting next week. FINALLY! Stay tuned brother
Oh I know, that’s the coolest Unakite I’ve found.
Love your videos!!! Rock on 🤘🏼
Thanks for the support
That is a nice looking piece of unakite. First rock in the slideshow
Oh yeah I agree. Think that’s the nicest one I’ve found yet in the river
@@RockHoundingAdventures do you plan on tumbling it?
@@RocketRockhound not sure may use to trade with. I have 6 people wanting to trade with me but running low of trading material.
@@RockHoundingAdventures wow the rocks out in Colorado are pretty cool. Maybe cut it in half to give half away lol.
Congrats on 800 subs!
Thanks, it came waaay quicker then I was expecting. I’m greatful for the quick growth.
@@RockHoundingAdventures at this rate you could reach 1000 subs by the end of the month! that would be awesome!
@@RocketRockhound if so that would be awesome
The mountains are beautiful there. The unikite and yellow jasper at 9:28 are beautiful ! I am amazed at how many rocks in the Colorado rivers that are the same as Lake superior !
Yeah those are my favorite finds from that day. Yeah I’m starting to notice that too.
i was wishing you had stopped and focused at the finely layered rock at 6.17-6:19, not to take it home, just to have a good look at it out of curiosity...oh well, maybe just a sand stone or layered quartz. good hunt.
I will keep an eye out to do that for future videos. I think it was sandstone but those are nice to pick up and look at sometimes. Thanks for watching.
Man, it looked cold and a bit windy. But isn't it funny how the rocks call to you and hours can melt away. Glad you can get out and enjoy it. Rock on
It was cold, mainly just when the wind was blowing. Yeah I have to have alarms on my phone cause when Rockhounding I have bad time management lol. 3 hours can feel like 1 hour 🤦♂️😂. Thanks for always watching my videos. I enjoyed communicating with you. Hope you have a great week. 🤘
Ragnar is also one with the rocks, nice cold stroll on the river! We always find a bunch of "unknowns and quartz" here, gets annoying sometimes 🐢
Oh yeah I hear yeah, definitely does
HOW is it possible to NOT bring home to many of all those lovely rocks?? I think I have had a stack in my garden :-) :-)
Lol it’s really hard to put rocks back.
How is the rock tumbling going?
I think it’s going well I will check them later tonight or tomorrow and do a update video to post tomorrow evening. I was doing the update on Mondays but then when the belt broke I had to wait a couple days and do the updates now on Wednesdays
Awesome!!!!
Cool stuff man ! Been watching some of the vids you have . I live really close around in the grand valley .I have some cool spots I'd like to share with you and some pics of some rocks I've found that I do not know they are if you could help me out . Maybe I can email you the pics and locations of the spot I found these ..
Yeah man I’d love to help you out. Shoot me a email rock_hounding_adventures@yahoo.com or if you have IG or Facebook shoot me a PM.
An sorry I just saw this. UA-cam doesn’t always notify me so I try the best I can to keep up with comments. Sometimes I do get the notifications and when I go to respond for some odd reason UA-cam hides them as well and I don’t get that at all 🤷♂️.
