Music was also better back in the day because just anyone couldn’t be a star. Michael Jackson was the biggest star in the universe and he got very little exposure. Even NWA went gold in about 6 weeks with very little radio play. They were banned from MTV. Whitney wasn’t an enormous star because of marketing. She was that big because she could sing like a goddess. The truth is the worse an artist is the more they need marketing.

50 likes to play the role of Superthug which at one point in time he was but this guy is intelligent and articulate. You can tell he’s spent time studying and reading to better himself and his business. Curtis Jackson is the man

Interesting, because what he's saying also applies to him! After Curtis, his marketing was never the same. But he's better off without rapping at this point. He's come a long way.

Public exposure marketing. It's like your pushing to sell. Billboards commercials etc.

I remember this fake artist like JLO, the industry pushing their carries, their music in the radio, but back in the day we don't have options, just the radio or TV..

Yes. He is a smart guy, but none of his observations about the state of the music industry are the product of “genius” thinking. College freshmen write about the same things in their term papers for Popular Media 101.
