Aside from the fact that it's a fail-by-default system and they're dead if the trunk snaps off. I always did it with a pulley and a minimum of two people. Twice the force they can generate normally and they're way out of the way where the tree can snap or fall.

So I ended up getting free tickets to movie theaters because about 20 of my brothers friends worked at movie theaters so I got to see Batman The Dark Knight over 300 times in theaters and over 1000 other movies and free food and other stuff because I created a debt they could not repay. Sure it costed me $200 but it was worth it. So if you have a friend or older family member pay money for gas for them and create a debt they can not repay and you will gain slaves as well. I was busy that summer basically living in movie theaters.
