Many of the images as well as the lyrics are oblique references to Dante's Inferno. Also, mythology has its origins in the experience of the destruction of order into chaos. What I think RR is doing is to create as real of a visual experience to bring the viewer into it so as to feel it. For example, the expressions on your face, and the breathlessness of your voice, and your whole body animated, is exactly what RR is trying get everyone to experience. Clearly, RR is having an existential experience and is trying to convey to the world.

Yes, it is referring to the martial arts (36 chambers of the shaolin) and the associated struggle. It is also shouting out to Wu-Tang Clan. Their most iconic album was called Enter the Wu-Tang Clan 36 Chambers.

Beautiful. I appreciate your take. Here's my similar thoughts.
Ronald was on the surface, death and crime everywhere which he was a participant of, with the devil (Alex) occasionally speaking thru Ronald until he died in the helicopter crash.
Ronald goes straight to hell and instantly has Tech N9ne screaming lessons into his ear.
Tech has been in hell for a while thinking about his sins and has learned some errors of humanity.
But this is not the level of Hell for Ronald. Ronald must go deeper. Tech sends Ronald down to the bottom of Hell with Satan himself (Alex). Now we hear where the deeper tones were coming from when Ronald was alive and now Ronald must fight the devil whom was influencing him.

Being relatively new to their growing catalogue is a great place to be. Each track released with a video follows a path if you can see it.
Each adding and building upon the last. Visually, if nothing else- the character in the videos showing that their growth is ongoing. Confronting and incorporating the lessons hard learned. Shouting out inspirations and using his energies and abilities that he has control of if not mastery of to navigate through and confront the next greater challenge within himself.

I love that Metal is finally reaching the masses! It is conveyed to be loud and demonic, but the lyrics of metal music are some of the most poetic songs you will ever hear.

Tech has been rapping like this forever.
I feel like your really starting to get it. I grew up listening to Christian rock when a lot of people thought that was evil. This song/video is not only insane and fire but also beautiful, sad and a reality check for all of us and our internal struggles as well as the world.
I think it would be neat to compare/contrast this song to their latest song "all my life"

1: Ronald is the long form of Ronnie. I feel that this could be an interpretation of of his inner struggles. Hi Ren on Meth and Adrenaline. Also I feel that the devil is the reason people make bad choices, but that doesn’t take away from free will which gives u the opportunity to make good choices. So blaming the devil is correct but also individual accountability is correct. Just my opinion. Also, Mandalay Bay was the site of a mass shooting at a concert if I’m correct. Last: 36 chambers is also a reference, or at least could be to the Wu-Tang Clan’s first album. It was called 36 chambers.
Also I’d like to add that you react to music in a way that usually irritates me. I’m in to the whole bar break down and message interpretation thing as you are listening. But somehow you make your method of reaction one of my my favorites. There is a sincerity and genuine love of music that shines through you. Well done ma’am.

I watched your initial shock and maybe revulsion turn into later curiosity and openness and trying to grasp what was happening and their perspective on light and dark and Good and evil. The references go by too fast for me to grasp them. I like that you go over the lyrics in more depth at the end of review. Add nearly 84 this month I missed out on the original heavy metal era. But I ended up just writing lyrics and creating a light heavy metal album. Now I can say I actually like some more traditional heavy metal but not yet on the level of this song. The visual impact is shocking and stunning. I am envious of rappers incredible talent, flow, rhythm and literary art including double entendres. I will.have to listen to this one again and maybe again. Thanks for tackling this one. 😮

The Orthodox Christian perspective is that it is a spiritual war, in which people participate on either side, willfully.
What did that have to do with this song though, We are in a spiritual war but denying this song is demonic or that most metal isn’t demonic is just not true and btw this is coming from someone who listens to metal and does believe in a higher power

In other words, we are supposed to take the war against hell, to us very foundation, and gates are about keeping things out, not a method of attack, which says the church takes the fight directly to hell itself.

I actually disagree with her read the lyrics to most metal music and it’s demonic FIR included doesn’t mean every single song they make is but most of them have demonic lyrics in 3/4 of their songs. For example people say the band Ghost isn’t demonic when “Mary on a cross” is literally meant to be the most outright blasphemous song and Tobias acknowledges it. Everybody has a choice when listening to music but let’s not deny most metal is in fact demonic. This song has Alex Terrible in it if it’s not demonic why does he wear a mask with horns again didn’t say you should or shouldn’t listen to it I in fact like metal but make sure you aren’t lying to yourself when listening to it
I think a good place to start is define demonic. A lot of the ideas we have about the devil etc are influenced by society and culture. For example satan with horns and a pitch fork etc. that is not biblical, but an image that I believe was created by man and developed. When we look at the Tanach (referred to as old testament by christians), we see little mention of a devil. Rather he is referred to as the adversary (see book of Job) and he doesn’t seem to have much authority at all since he has to go to God to get permission to torment Job (paraphrasing here not quoting).
I def think there is evil and wickedness in the world. But I am asking myself if it’s possible that the imagry and words here are meant to poetically and artistically convey not some type of worship or glorification of evil or Satan, but rather showcase a battle against what is evil or internal turmoil and pain
That is not to say that when it comes to music and art, everything should be allowed in the name of poetry and art etc. some things are off the table in my opinion (example: abuse, hurting children, perversion etc). I can’t speak to band Ghost. Unfamiliar with them. And I don’t know what FIR meant to say here. Only trying to interpret and trying to keep an open mind, keeping the good. Throwing the bad etc :) hope my feedback helps shed a bit more light on my perspective and angle.

Why are people today so fascinated with the devil start there. James 4:7: “Subject yourselves to God; but oppose the Devil, and he will flee from you.” Look at how many people today will get mad at you for simply stating you believe in god or that what they are doing is demonic and your answer is right there, Just my perspective and again I listen to metal but I also understand where believers are coming from and how they are all demonized today and get such a stark reaction.
