  • Welcome back to Koi Pond Lifestyle.😉👍
This week we look at a close up view of my bottom...drain. As the black stuff breaks away from the sides of my pond I film what it actually looks like as it makes its way along the bottom drain and reaches the Vortex.
How do I clear up the aftermath of the FOK and KMA cocktail I used last week. I look at how much water I can save by not just draining the filter bays and washing then through.
And and quick look at how my SHOWA is getting on after the salt baths over the past 3 weeks.
Links to some of the equipment I use on the channel are below if you want any of them.
Just copy any of the Amazon links into your browser bar to see the products..👍👍

Great idea with the garlic although I can't do that as I have a drum and oil cloggs a drum very quickly and you'd have to degrease the screens every day 😂

What if you literally put a splash to coat the food to make it smell better..🤔😉👍

@KoiPondLifestyle I do make a garlic food but I squash the garlic into water as any form of oil really plays havack with the drum screen when I used that marine halibut pellets for a bit I couldn't work out why my screens were getting clogged up every day then Mak at JKI pointed out it's the oil in the food so I cleaned them again and stopped feeding it and the drum worked perfectly again so I'll stick with squishing it in to water, simmer it for 5-10 minutes and then you have a really garlic water based one the down side is it needs using up as it only lasts a week or so but the plus side alot healthier for the koi and the drum 😊👍

    It’s a Sunday treat.

Another hit for the pond keeper this winter again the possibility of no heat in the pond again.
Green levy of £170 to be added to household bills from this month.

HOUSEHOLDS are set to pay a £170 green energy levy again from next month. Rishi Sunak faces a furious backlash as it emerged that the extra whack will go onto bills again as the government's energy support falls away.
But now the price cap is set to fall, the levies will return to bills - costing around £170 every three months.
The extra cash goes towards renewable green programmes, and helping lower paid Brits get energy help.
But last night Tories called on ministers to continue to waive the fees to help hard-pressed families.
Ex-Business Secretary Jacob Rees Mogg said: "Any new or re-imposed charge ought to be announced to parliament first and not slipped through slyly."

Sorting out the shed today getting rid of old water test liquid I like NTL although you dont get as much as API I did have a HANNA small test machine but found it just to long winded to use also got rid of the Deror electrolyser I do still buy Selifert for Nitrate I found this better than API or NTL for Nitrate but just takes to long to use for other tests for speed its API which also is a good price as you can buy top up packs. Looks like a very bad weekend High 65 mph winds heavy rain and night temperature drops.

Hi Andy. Do you have a trickle in and out system on your pond?

    • @KoiPondLifestyle
      @KoiPondLifestyle  Рік тому

I do. It's located on the last bay of the filter system so any chlorine that makes it through the dechlorinator doesn't affect the filters. I don't run it 24/7 but use it for top ups after filter cleans..😉👍
