Can someone tell me what was the thought process to opening the door closest to the stage as well as to why is there not guards already at that side for the entire duration of the presidents address and/or bulletproof glass dividers put in place to protect those on the stage. Even the guards weapons was a problem if one of the EFF had broke through and gotten to the president, you can't shoot and risk shooting him or worse, the could've overpowered one, gotten his weapon and this could've turned bad very quickly. Was the EFF wrong to rush the stage, yes, but I see major security flaws that are just disgusting.

The Speaker of the House gave the EFF three opportunities to leave the chamber peaceably before having to call in security forces. She did an admirable job under great duress and maintained her dignity throughout, as did President Ramaphosa. Those of us at home wanted to hear his speech, which addressed a myriad of concerns. Would that all parties could truly work together going forward to make SA better.
