I actually like that most bosses are office supplies. Since everything and one is either paper or cardboard, facing off against these things make it seem like you're fighting something other-worldly.
That end credits sequence tho. It seems that the legion gets together on some kind of desktop. But the question is, are they plotting revenge against the paper beings, or are they wanting to protect them again?
@@jaykay8426 Fun fact: in the mushroom house's basement, where the origamist works, you have bookshelves. Check the ones about how to make Origamis, and the following tools are mentioned : Colored Pencils to customize your patterns, Rubber Bands to hold them in place, Hole Punch to put holes into them and Stapler to make sure they won't unfold. So, the members of the legion of stationery are in fact the tools used by the origamist, and it's very likely that Olly brought them to life, giving them the task of protecting streamers and helping him to make folded soldiers (We even see the Stapler at the beginning of the game fastening a koopa to turn it into a folded soldier)! So yeah, the end credits scene actually shows the origamist's desk with his office supplies - which made me laugh and shed a tear, too. I enjoyed the credits.
That’s just sad. But I guess they r gonna soon help out the winning side (my main man mario) Maybe they will be like the charge attacks from 1000 year door. With the legion of stationary instead of crystal stars or star sages
Imagine if the battle music in Origami King went all distorted when your health was low like in the previous two Paper Mario games. Imagine how funny this song would sound at low health.
something funny is that in the spanish translations for this game, because of the way pronouns work in spanish, rubberband, hole punch, and a few others are referred to by female pronouns
They refer to Tape, Hole Punch, Colored Pencils and Scissors as "he" in English. They refer to Hole Punch as "it", which I always assumed was because the Toads interpreted it as a freaky monster.
Mario and...disco? Okay then. Not that it's a complaint because this theme is amazing. I really enjoy how how the theme still manages to sound like a desert battle, fitting of the area we fight Hole Punch in. I particularly enjoy 0:23-0:36 and 1:05-1:19. I find those bits oddly catchy.
*SPOILERS for this battle* Mario losing his FACE and going limp was the freakiest shit and I did NOT expect it even though I should have lmao. Paper Mario games always throw some fucked up body horror shit your way and can get away with it because they’re ~just paper~

So you're fighting a disco-obsessed Hole Puncher on a mix of disco and egyptian music under the desert with faceless Toads cheering you up... Makes sense.
I still can’t get over how they animated such a convincing dance animation onto a HOLE PUNCHER.
I KNOW RIGHTTT
Ikr, the others weren't nearly as expressive
Legit the music is so freaking good, if I was a 9 yr old kid I would b dancing my freaking butt off
He's vibin' to the music, I mean, I would do the same if I was a Hole punch
Omg same my dudes, I was vibbing when the music was fire!?
Whoever's idea is to mix disco with Egyptian music should get promoted.
I agree with you there
I want to know how they did it.

or
Discyptian
Discgyptian!

That doesn’t answer my question though. Are they plotting revenge on Mario, or not?
@@jaykay8426 Probably not. After all, they returned to the state of being simple lifeless office supplies after Olly's death.

Rubber Band has GOTTA be a girl, I mean she has a ponytail and sang OPERA!!! But I had no idea hole punch was female too!!

I wish the in-game music player let you seamlessly switch between the regular and thinking varieties of the battle themes

there's an in-game music player?
