You're welcome Aleski. I forwarded my nephew (who was going to Finland yesterday for a few days) your info regarding public transportation in Helsinki. He will be home soon and I'll ask him if it helped. 🇺🇸🇫🇮
@@AleksiHimself Iisalmi. The same time as the monthly passes and such went no touch chip cards they also added in the Visa, Mastercard and so on methods
Thanks for the video, it's my first summer holiday in Finland now. I'm looking forward to the video about long distance traveling as I'm about to hike with friends Oulanka next week.
Crazy! I was looking up ways to travel about in Finland earlier today. I can't believe how much research I've been putting into this- I may actually go! The goal is to fly from Los Angeles to Helsinki, and travel to Tampere and Turku. Jazzed for this video, as I'm looking into visiting this September!
I used HSL app for metro rides in Helsinki and it was pretty smooth. Do you have a video about using bikes? I wanted to try but got nervous about doing something wrong.
It's exactly the same in France, except for the use of the same tickets for several types of transport, it starts to be done but it's different companies so sometimes only the correspondence from a vehicle to another allows the use of the ticket of the other company.
Is prepaid cards or travel card instead of buying daily tickets for one months or one year in buses and transportation And what is the cost of prepaid cars or travel cards
Today i left Helsinki after a month , this video came a little late hahahaha but i learned about how to use public transport menwhile i was staying there, never used the train but it seems is pretty easy. The first time i used the metro i was so confused because in my country (Chile), the metro train always came from the left and in Helsinki is from the right
Question about travelling by bus. Do people wait in line to get in? First one waiting gets in first. Here people just almost push and sneak up before other people to get in first.
Hi there guys, I’m from malaysia here, maybe planning to go to Rovaniemi for solo travelling since I haven’t been travel for 2 years. Few questions here: 1. May I ask that if I’m travelling to Finland with just cash without any debit or credit card , would it be ok? As I’m just a teenager, just travelling with cash , haven’t own a debit or credit card yet. 2. What type of buses u can get from Rovaniemi airport to Rovaniemi city ? Also I saw the Airport express buses has been temporarily halted their operations too . 3. If I on board the bus in Rovaniemi like example from Rovaniemi bus station to the Arctic glass igloo village bus station , can I pay with cash directly to the driver , without using any credit or debit card?
I've been in Finland for over 3 weeks. I've only seen the inspectors once so far. A local Finn said if you don't have a valid ticket, you can just get off right before you see the inspectors get on. She also said that if you don't have a European ID number, you can just throw the ticket into the trash because they can't get you. Is either of this true? (In Sweden this is what some people do)
I noticed how organized and clean public transportation is in Finland. It's impressive.
Thanks for the comment Jan Marjamaa!

This helped me get around like a boss for 3 weeks! Thank you!
I appriciate your info about transport
Perfect , very usefull and clear. Just question , should I validate 2-day paper ticket at tram ?
No. You will choose the starting time when buying the ticket.
Amazing and useful videos. Flying there this weekend. Thanks for the info
The 'cash only' in buses varies from city to city. Some companies accept cards, but cash is the safe bet if you are buying the ticket from the bus
I've never seen that one can buy tickets to local buses. In long distance buses you can tho.
My local busses accept cards. But like I said. It varies so if you don't know. Have cash in hand
Where is that?

I see thanks for the comment!
Also one difference between a bus and a tram is that you don't have to wave the tram to make it stop
Does it work that way? Didn't know!
I’m going back to Finland 🇫🇮 in 2 weeks ....... so I’m intrested in this amazing channel

Good question! There are no lines. First one at the door gets in first.
0:54 same in Turkey

To be honest I don't know how it works without EU ID. Evading the inspectors is still against the rules.

I'm coming to Finland in November - I have a visual impairment and use a cane. Any tips? I'm going to Tampere :)
In tampere u can't use hsl app so make sure u have right ticket
Tips regarding what exactly? In Tampere they have their own app. I think it's called Nysse. The are only buses in Tampere at the moment.
I'm happy with your lesson plan! 👌👍
Thanks for the comment Teomezghi Mogos!
Helsinki sell old trams to city Łódź 🇵🇱
