They are sounding great, kind crazy they are touring with Metallica … because I was at a pantera show back in the day and Phil was on the mic talking mad trash and calling them sellouts, was around far beyond driven or great southern tours, didn’t realize how lucky I was back then , was really young , but I saw Pantera 4 times, and got to see tours for vulgar, far beyond , and great southern, and I was supposed to go see during cowboys, but I wasn’t to get to that show I was like 13 or 14 years old at the time, also saw Metallica only 2 times , but both were black album tour, just to add the band I have seen the most is deftones, 14 times, and been way too long since last time…. Definitely too long of comment lol, my bad, but yeah Charlie is playing drum’s perfect as can be played in my opinion, and Phil sounds as good if not better than ever live.
Benante surprised me during this tribute tour, he does an excellent job at staying the most faithful as possible to the original drums arrangements. Regarding Phil dissing Metallica back then, well i'd say he was probably right. Metallica became the main commercial, accessible metal band, certainly with the restyling after AJFA. But money talks, plus these feuds and dissings are usually hype, nothing else.
This can't be easy trying to match the energy of your twenties and thirties at this age...Respect to Phil and Co for attempting this at this age. It's no Rolling Stones music that you can play into your 70s.
@@bridgetgidget1446You can't compare them. It's a totally different kind of music. Pantera can't sound like The Rolling Stones, because they play metal. I love The Rolling Stones, and yeah, they were legendary. But Pantera was a very talented band, with best riffs and drums that world ever seen. Unfortunatelly 2 great artists passed away and band will never be the same without them. But I'm glad they still keep playing, because they're ambitious and they know that thousands of fans are still waiting for them.
Only thing I do t like about it is that they’re opening for Metalica when they come to Detroit, would much rather see this in a smaller place as the headliner.
