@@archalys0 Merry Christmas to you as well and thankyou!! 🥰🎄🙇‍♀️ Haha, yeah you would never think of KFC as Christmas food, but it's one of the most popular Christmas traditions in Japan! I have no idea how it started though. 🤣 I know here in Texas a lot of people do barbecue as well, along with Mac n cheese and tamales! :D

@@thehoustongeisha KFC for Christmas started with Western migrants to Japan craving turkey as a holiday food, which is not available there (especially not at that time). Chicken is naturally the next best thing. KFC saw a marketing opportunity and deliberately starting advertising to get those customers. It then spread to the general Japanese population.

@ oh! Well today I learned! :D That's fascinating and actually makes a lot of sense, can't really find turkeys in Japan! 😅 Now i know the origins of this tradition! Thankyou for sharing! 🥰🙇‍♀️

@@IEMAIEICH Merry Christmas! 🎄❤️ I remember reading it's a big thing in Europe! Kind of a surprise it's a thing in Japan as well! We tend to have potato salad more in the summer here in the US (though I will happily eat potato salad any time of year! 🤣). And you are very welcome, thankyou for watching! 🥰🙇‍♀️

I think that every country has a different menu for KFC. Wishing you a very merry Christmas, definitely having a white Christmas in Montreal this year. Expecting 4 to 6 inches of snow tonight...

@@trainglen22 I think that's true- I'm sure the menu is catered to the tastes of people from different countries and regions! :) and thankyou so much, I hope you have a Merry Christmas as well! 🥰🎄🙇‍♀️ I hear we are expecting thunderstorms in Houston, but I'd rather have your snow! ❄️ 🤣

Geeetings from Texas! Merry Christmas! I recommend trying a traditional drink called eggnog. I once asked a Japanese person if they have ever had it and they said they had never heard of it. If you can’t find it in a store, there’s plenty of videos online on how to make it.

@@alexiakelley4245 merry Christmas to you as well, also from Texas! :D 🎄🎉 I have actually had eggnog before, it's yummy! (Though a bit heavy lol). But brings back memories of Christmas past. 🥰

I wanted KFC but settled for a McDonald's $5 chicken meal 😂. KFC is pretty big for Christmas dinner. I love my Christmas ham and pumpkin pie and many chocolate sweets! Merry Christmas hisako-san!! Arigato gosimasu!!
