It's a coming of age witch fantasy set in modern day london, where the main character, Anna, has her view on magic drastically altered when she mets some new witches from a different section of magic and Anna has to decide whether she wants to explore her magic leaving her family behind or give it up and stay with what she's always known. I loved this book, the magic system is really broad and Anna has a unique knotting magic, the characters are compelling, there's a hint of romance but the friendship drives the character development, and has very contrary vibes of a light simple high school and then the dark creepy home life (tw there are themes of bullying and child abuse)

I went to B&N yesterday and I was so frustrated so many of the books I wanted to buy the spines and the covers all had some type of damage on them and I can’t see paying for a new book tht is already damaged. If you are looking for great fantasy stand-alones Fun Fantasy Books did a great video not to long ago of the top 50 fantasy stand alones.
