However buying crypto onchain is like buying things online. The vast majority of crypto's to buy are onchain. Only a small limited amount are on exchanges like Coinbase. And if you want to buy a crypto thats onchain you need to use a wallet because wallets are how you interact onchain. That help?

You wallet balance is $0 because those funds are on coinbase not in your wallet. Your wallet is different from your coinbase account. It'd be like if your bank account said $1000 but you pulled your wallet out of your pocket and it had $0 in it. If you send funds from your account to your wallet the wallet balance will update and reflect this.

For crypto to be accepted generally as a payment system, it'd have to be simplified. If it's harder than using a credit card or cash, most people will never be able t use it. It'd always be for geeks. Particularly, most people won't be able to manage their private keys themselves.

You would have to find the USDT wallet address on Binance and send your USDT to that address and select the right network. I would recommend doing only a small amount to start and making sure it works.

You would have to find the USDT wallet address on Binance and send your USDT to that address and select the right network. I would recommend doing only a small amount to start and making sure it works.
