How would you compare the Team Pro to the new Union Force for dampening and shock absorption?
Pretty similar for both. A touch more shock absorbtion with the air bag for the Team Pro at slower speeds but overall pretty comparable.
I’m torn between the phantom and phantom+. Which would you choose?
I’d be putting them on a ride berzerker and peace seeker, nitro alternator, otto+, and dart. Switching bindings regularly, but would end up on the peace seeker, dart, and otto+ most of the time.
Other bindings are rome black labels, union ultras, and flux CV. The phantoms would be replacing the CV.
Phantom +. If you click through to the review on The Good Ride it's a favorite. Much better fit. Black Labels would be a good call too.
How would you compare the regular phantom to the Arbor cypress? Both have tall highbacks and dampness?
Pretty similar in some ways and two very good bindings. The Cypress is more damp (but its very close), has a little easier flex underfoot, and has a better ankle strap but the Phantom has a little more response and shock absorption with that. You really can't go wrong either way if you want a responsive mini-disc binding. I'd go Phantom Plus if you can though if you are considering Nitro.
Nitro Phantom vs Jones Mercury? Going on a Burton Kilroy twin, mainly resort mountain riding on the east coast
Depends on your boot with the Mercury. Some boots with soft soles will cause arch pressure and fatigue you. Could also cause long term damage. Phantom is almost as damp, about as responsive, not arch issues and way more adjustiblity.
Met you at bend whitewater park last spring! Was wondering if you have tried both the team opt and phantom opt ankle straps and which one you preferred?

I preferred the Team Pro and Phantom + better. I like the versatility and the width more. Usually I'm more into the minimal straps like the Opt but it just didn't feel wide enough and wrap around my ankle as much as the Locked down ankle straps
@@thegoodridesnow the regular team has a different ankle strap this year, different to the team pro and phantom. Did you happen to try it? Just trying to figure out if I should order a new set of straps. The padded ones can get wet/ heavy and ice up but are super comfy otherwise.
Yes. I know. That's what I'm talking about. I tried the 2024 Team, Team Pro, Phantom, Phantom + and compared them all to each other. Almost all reviews are in that link and up on my Channel here. Still have to publish the Team though. Yeah maybe order them but they just don't feel as good as the Pro and +.
@@thegoodridesnow I ended up getting a set of 2024+ phantom straps. They're pretty comfy and locked in for what I am looking for, as well as lighter and not prone to holding water and freezing. But I think the padded team circa 2023 ankle straps are comfier cruising and jibbing. Keen to try the bindings and see how it compares to the rest of the lineup given the shock absorption tech.

You didn't tell me anything about you so hard to say. I'd go Phantom + if you like a balance between shock absorption and dampness. I'd go Cleaver if you want more response and more shock absorption but less dampness/chatter absorption. why did they get rid of the padding on the 2024 phantom.

For dampening, which is better? Union Force, Union Ultra, Nitro Phantom plus, or Team Pro?
Team Pro has dual airbags which is probably design more for big jump. Does it make a difference in resilience/bounce versus the Ultra or force in jumps and aide hits?
For dampening/vibration absorption it goes Phantom + is the dampest. Phantom second. Ultra 3rd. Then Force and Team Pro are pretty similar.
@@thegoodridesnow interesting. Do you think the airbag plays a big portion in the dampening or is it more of a gimmick?
It's more for shock absorption and not a gimmick. It's great to have those air bags in all the Nitro bindings.
@@thegoodridesnow i am thinking of investing in the Phantom Plus and Team Pro. I just wished you analyzed if two or one shock absorber made a difference. It’s minor.

I'm not sure what you mean by "I just wished you analyzed if two or one shock absorber made a difference" Could you clarify? Regardless I really liked both the Team Pro and Phantom +. They are favorite bindings for 2024. Hard to go wrong but the better binding all around is the Phantom + if you want the most response/shock absorption/dampening.
