A week in a half? Lol. What a job. I got to be honest I didn’t know how they would react to the very high weeds and grass. Very nice work. John Deere might be worried.
Yeah we were very pleased with how they knocked it down! Will have to get the Deere out to finish it but they definitely made it easier to walk through!!
I have questions for you. How long do your Kune Kunes take to make weight for freezer camp and at what weight do you process? What is your opinion on their meat? I’m considering adding pigs and the Kune Kune seem like a perfect fit as I’m very limited on space. Thanks and appreciate your great content.
We have just been raising Kunes for about 2 years now. We started with breeding stock and they are slow growing. We have yet to butcher any yet but we have 4 from our last litter that will be our first to head to the freezer. We will probably butcher next fall depending on their size so they will be around 16 months. I have yet to try the meat but have only heard good things about it. The only negative that I have heard is that they take longer to grow out. We like the idea that they are smaller and we feel for our family of four we won’t have an issue using all the meat compared to butchering a 500lb hog. We will have updates when the time comes to butcher and also talk about the meat. Thanks for following along hope I answered your questions. If you have any other let me know
I’ve heard that pig manure isn’t good for vegetable gardens for human consumption. Do you know anything about that? I’ve got kunes and this would really help with end of summer garden. I’ve got a bad nutsedge problem they may be able to help with
That is so cool. We get our piggies next week. Can’t wait
Congrats you’ll love them

I’ll shoot you an email when I’m ready for pigs on my homestead if that’s ok with you.
Once again great video. How many net fences do you connect and what charger?
We have four fences hooked up for the garden project premier 1 says you can use up to 6 for the 60 charger
I am turning my garden over to the hens Nov 1.
It is quite enjoyable to be able to do that!!!

I’m not 100% sure on that but I have heard it needs to be composted longer
The only manure that is okay for fresh use on food crops is rabbit. Anything is suitable with sufficient composting.
