I followed your guidance and, lo and behold, I have a great result! The only difference between mine and yours is that once I was done, I went back with Athonian Camoshade and I put two thin even coats down over the wood. It darkens it up a little, but the green in the shade wash really ties it back in with the green of the primer/basecoat. Thanks for a great video!
So I followed this guide tonight. First time I've ever painted a terrain piece, even though I've been painting minis for a few years. Pretty happy with how it turned out. I wasn't digging how it was looking after the celestra grey stage, but the pure white final highlight made a huge difference. Now I just have to get my hands on some corrosion at the shop tomorrow. Thanks for the tips!
Who doesn't love some terrain?! Have you all got your copy of Warcry on pre-order? I can't wait to get started - what's your favourite model from the box?
@@halmartin7417 thanks for taking the time to comment! Yeah the terrain is lovely - in fact I think the whole set is great! Can't wait to get some games in
Just found your channel looking for tips to paint this terrain. This is my first miniature game. This guide was super helpful and I look forward to your future videos!
This is great. I'm going to essentially follow this method, except keep the wooden bits loose - assuming that's possible - and prime them separately with a different base coat color to save time on those parts.
The wood in this part is attached to the top stones - there is a lot of wood in the set that isn't however abd I've primed that differently like you said - massive time saver!
Hey! Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment! Google Translate is fine! I will continue with the whole box - and will add to my other Warcry tutorials here Warcry: How to Paint: ua-cam.com/play/PLOhXGMui3T4rT1go9i8WqiLfwQVs6AtpJ.html
Great Tutorial! Thanks for posting it. I don't see links in the description for the File and the Brush you mentioned in the video. That nail tool looks great for cleaning up terrain.
Hey thanks for taking the time to comment! Glad you liked it! I'll be doing the stone head at some point over the next few days - my plan is to base it black, then dry brush incubi darkness, thunderhawk blue and then fenrisian grey
Just watched this and the warhammer guide and think I'll go with this method as I'm not a big fan of using washes and inks on stone work as it slows you down waiting for it dry and you have less control them spraying and drying brushing so love working dark up on scenery. Plus are GW off there heads 😂...telling you to wash the whole warcry set in larmy medium 💰💰💰😉
@@ThePaintingCoach that's what I was thinking. Though I feel the Celestra having that tinge of blue gives it that faded out look without resembling stone. I think Administratum would contrast too much in a way. Hmm, time to find a local retailer who's still shipping I think.

The terrain is my favorite, lol. The iron golems are.... not bad. Untamed beasts are better.

Great video! Looks better than the Warhammer TV tutorial and fewer steps too.
Thanks Danny!

Nice tutorial mate, I'll follow this loosely and add s few washes in. Cheers!

Can the Death Guard Green be applied as a drybrush?
Yes a heavy drybrush should be ok

Loved this video will definitely be trying this method. Are you planning on doing any more videos on the other bits of terrain?
Hey thanks for taking the time to comment - I've got a video up for Sigmars head- is there any other bits you'd like to see?
@@ThePaintingCoach it would be nice to to see how you do the wooden walkways, the spike barriers and the bell tower.
Cool I'll see what I can do- I've got a few more Warcry tutorials planned so I'll try and add them in!
Nice look forward to seeing them.
Love the tip for using the nail tool - cleaning all this terrain was tiresome! The results of the paint job look terrific.

Another great vid!! Thanks!
So how do you think rattle can color “The Fang” would look instead of the green as a dusting right after Chaos Black??
I think it would look good - it would make the buildings look colder with a blue ambience
Amallya Volek - Ha yep, know what you mean!!
The Painting Coach - I might try it on a smaller piece to see since a have the Fang and not the Deathgaurd.
By the way, loved the sanding idea!!
@@Tombonzo cheers - perfect for buildings just not your soldiers haha! I think the fang will work well
can you please link this specific terrain piece from the warcry page?

@@ThePaintingCoach wow sad times :( thanks for looking tho

Do you have a suggestion for not having Celestra? Being quarantine time, I only have Administratum and fenrisian grey. Think they'd be too blue?
Administratum would probably work the best out of the two 🤔
@@ThePaintingCoach that's what I was thinking. Though I feel the Celestra having that tinge of blue gives it that faded out look without resembling stone. I think Administratum would contrast too much in a way. Hmm, time to find a local retailer who's still shipping I think.
No problem - might be worth doing a test on some spare bits or even some cardboard
