I had issues when dropping or loosing a stitch a row or two down. I found this ingenious young lady that threaded thin cord through the small hole of her interchangeable needles and carried the thread/yarn/dental floss as a life line! Mmmmmm I could share your video with other knitters or keep it all to myself! LOL. I will share it with anyone who needs the help. I don't want to go through the hair pulling out experience I was going through. I am going to post this video on the designers forum or help area! The shift also changes color yarn every two rows!!!!! Wooooohoooo I hit the knitting jackpot today! I am thrilled, thank you!🎃👏👏🤗😘
I don't know if this will help, instead of getting the neat edge as yours if you were looking at an icord edge, my edge has my yarn has wrapped around with yarn being horizontal. Thank you for any advice.
I Cynthia, I have this video playing when slipping off current yarn to the front, then bring it between two needles. I then take my second color from behind the first, bring it up and begin knitting. I don't know what I am doing incorrectly, in does not look the same as yours. When you are slipping the first stitch off where do you lay your yarn before bringing it to the back of the needle? I don't know why something so well explained is not turning out the way it should for me.
It's hard to answer without seeing what you're doing, but when I slip the first stitch off, my yarn is in front as if I were going to purl. Go check the video I did on slipping the first stitch, which shows the "wrong" way to slip the first stitch. You may be doing something like what I show in that video?? You want to make sure that yarn is in front, and then goes between OVER the needles, not under it. You're working as if from purling to knitting. Does that help??
I am adding a color for the first time in a project. The pattern starts off with "with color B slip knit wise wyif. I understand what the initials are and how to do that but do I knit the first stitch and add new color as you show above?

That sounds right, if I understand you correctly, and you're at the edge of the work. Try it.
