Thank you for continuing to make these videos, they help immensely. Question: I'm installing QLC+ and a show control software in my second community theater. This one is lower budget so I'm considering SFX Show Control or Multiplay3 (Windows only). Which would be better right now in your opinion? SFX seems more complete but development is stopped. Multiplay3 is less complete but with semi-active development. My plan is SFX until Multiplay3 reaches feature parity or comes out of Beta but I just wanted to make sure SFX hasn't been broken due to no longer being updated. I have used both but just for simple sound effects, not really a demanding show yet. Thanks for your opinion.
Hi Matthew My absolute favorite is still CSC Show Control but you would have to pay approximately $150 for a license. The license fee is just a one time expense and is good forever. (unless they come out with a major update of the software) I just find the features to be better than the other two programs. See my videos: ua-cam.com/video/UwbAaJYZT7g/v-deo.html If not CSC then I think I would opt for Multiplay. I think it takes less work to create cues that are associated with one another and you do have OSC cues available. The only bug in the Multiplay program is that you cannot use the same midi interface to send midi note cues and midi sequence cues or else it locks up. The work around is of course to either use midi sequence cues or midi command cues but not both. For most people this is not a huge inconvenience. Ed Richards
@@edwardrichards7722 Thank you, I plan to be using OSC commands with Multiplay to control QLC+ as they use lots of volunteers at this location so having one spacebar to control both sound effects and lighting is ideal (I plan on programming, just volunteer operators to run). I noticed you did a video on OSC on CSC Show Control but not Multiplay. On QLC+ it should be the same, but an idea for a future video might be setting it up on the Multiplay side (just to have complete tutorials). Thank you for everything you do, you made my journey into theater tech much more enjoyable!
@@MATTHEWVALERI Hi Matthew On your suggestion I made a video about how to send OSC commands from Multiplay to QLC+. ua-cam.com/video/JYWg1MTLMe0/v-deo.html Sorry about the leaf blower in the background. Ed Richards
Hello Edwards, i have managed to get the live audio from my dj mixer to trigger the "audio trigger" and mapped it to a clock and the clocked is mapped to control a certain chaser. Sadly the chaser timings dont get affected by the clock even when i use the "tap" function. Have i mapped something the wrong way? I want to make the chaser loop on 8, 16 or more beats so it is synced to the music playing. I hope you can help me somehow!
Thankyou from a 60+ year old trying to remember analogue methods to convert to digital. 35 years is a long time to relearn. Cheers Edward.
cheers very useful
Very clever use of the audio trigger to affect the bpm. I'll definitely use that

🎉Great! Had no idea its so versatile! Thanks for your time working out the video
This is GREAT! Thank you so much, as always, for sharing these amazing tips and practices.
