i was told directly from an old timer years ago there was a wooden high lead tree full rigged on the east side of Alouette lake across from the boat launch about a third of the way up the hill. it would have fallen over though long ago.
the older timers would run a highline, which would hook up to a huge eye bolt that would then be attached to either a stationary or a machine yarder. Witch would then pull the logs up and out of the forest to the loading area where it would be than processed to length and loaded onto waiting trucks.
