The whale footage makes me wanna buy a drone for my next vacation and see if I can capture anything.. but I'm so scared that with my luck it's gonna go crazy fall in the ocean and be swallowed by a shark 😂😭
There are actually multiple things to help with this... if you were worried about it being swallowed by a shark, it wouldn't. They don't want anything to do with it. It won't fall in the ocean if you buy a good quality drone such as a Typhoon or a DJI, I would recommend DJI, and if you are really that worried about flying it over water, cut up pool noodles and zip tie them in equal lengths under the drone and on top of it(not in the way of the propellers, mind you) and put a GPS signal transmitter with a waterproof casing on the side. At the very least if you recover the drone you'll still get the footage, and maybe even salvage the electronics, which can be put into a new drone body. One more tip, ( I know this works, I've done it with all the electronics from my R/C float planes that I've crashed in the lake and pond) ever dropped your phone in water? Put it in a bag of rice? If the electronics in a drone are soaked but salvageable, first of all make sure they're decontaminated of salt, if you were flying it over the ocean.(basically just rinse it off nice and good with hot water and then some cold water) and then put all the electronics, (and the drone body if it's not too mangled and still usable, mind you, open the casing of the drone up first if you put the electronics in with the body so the rice gets in around the electronics too and not just the shell) in a large amount of rice.(like maybe not a whole garbage bag but enough that it fills the garbage bag enough to cover all the electronics) Did I mention I recommend to use a garbage bag for something bigger than the palm of your hand? I hope this helps with your decision and have a great day! Smile More!😀
