  • Near the Nile River, just 35 minutes drive from Downtown Cairo, is the Cattle Market of Al-Manashi. Here you will find men buying, selling and trading livestock, and in preparation for Eid Al-Adha (a big Muslim holiday which involves a lot of cattle), the market was especially busy. I wanted to check it out before the holiday kicked off to see a "behind-the-scenes" look into such a big part of Eid al-Adha. Come with me on my motorbike to the cattle market Al-Manashi!

      @@ramyobserver8596 Yeah I loved it. I enjoy the country and village roads, much more so than the highways or the Ring Road. Driving in the city can be fun too, but I find the country to be more interesting to observe, and it is definitely more peaceful. In the city you must constantly be aware of the road and traffic. The highways always suck, nothing fun about that.

I used to go to the camel market near Imbaba to buy knives from the drovers who brought the camels down lhe forty days road from Sudan.This chaos was never like this. @@andrereyes93 Yes that's true, many Egyptian men have the idea that foreign women are "easy," and often they will say or do things they would not say or do to an Egyptian woman. That is not to say they do not say or do inappropriate things to Egyptian women, because they do, only that the approach is quite different, and they are more blatant about it with foreign women. The class system is very much part Egyptian society. Nowhere is this more clearly illustrated than in this instalment of Gventures. I have to say, I have never seen anything like this before in my life. But then as Christians, we don’t sacrifice live animals for our sins; unlike our Muslim and Jewish brethren. You work very hard to bring us these interesting scenes of Egyptian life, but please be careful in these situations.

    • @Gventures
      @Gventures  2 місяці тому +4

      You are right, there is a class system here, and although it may not be spoken about much (that I am aware of), if definitely still exists in attitude and treatment of others, and is very clear when you start getting around to different circles and different sides of society. I don't know about them sacrificing animals for their sins though. I mean, the act of sacrificing on Eid Al-Adha, for example, is commemorating Abraham's obedience to God when he was told to sacrifice his son. I am not an expert in religion so there may be something I am missing, but as far as I am aware, it's not about sacrificing for their sins, but more to like, honor this event. Anyways, I am not really sure. As always, thanks for watching Cherif! ❤🙏

Before I get around to doing that though, I can just kind of tell you, they are selling normal stuff that they would at a convenience store. Candy, snacks, cigs and beverages like soda, water, juice, etc. Prices should be roughly the same as any other koshk or convenience store/shop for the items.

      Well...my "guide" Mostafa worked here, I just met him outside in the parking lot while I was parking my bike, he is from "this class of people" too. And he was very kind and respectful. I don't mind if dozens of men propose to me, that's not scary or dangerous. If there was some tradition of bride kidnapping in Egypt (there isn't) then it would perhaps be a cause for concern. But all these men did was talk, and words don't bother me. I have also traveled all over the world solo and trust in my instinct; if I feel something is dangerous, I leave. But there were no feelings of malicious intent here - just curiosity and an exaggerated level of excitement, that's about it.

      When I first arrived to Egypt I had 400 subscribers, now I have over 17k, and it's growing more every day. So that right there is evidence enough that you are wrong. Egypt is also a touristic country that will always attract more travelers, and new people will always be searching for videos about Egypt, so you're wrong about the audience retention as well. Lastly, I live in Egypt, so most of my content is here, but I do travel to other places and have made videos about that, and in the future I will be making more vlogs around the world. But when I do that is my decision and will have nothing to do with "growing my channel." There is a lot more I can say with numbers to prove you how wrong you are with this little comment, but it's not my duty and none of your business to know what's working for me or not, so, I'll just leave it at that.
