I thought it was pretty fun. it could be a little silly, didn’t take its time in some places, and a few things felt forced... but overall, a neat, semi-original movie. the STEM voice should’ve been Green’s voice, just filtered or something. the humor was good... I could’ve used more, and more ultra-violence. I feel bad for Logan Marshall Green... he’s a pretty good actor, I wish people wouldn’t always call him discount Tom Hardy. Tom Hardy always seems kind of arrogant or pretentious in his roles, this guy feels genuine.
My wife and I were stunned by the time we got to the end. It has several unexpected twists in the last minutes. It’s one of the best stories I’ve seen in a movie in years. We watched it a second time immediately because the ending is so unexpected that you really need to watch it again once you know all of the twists and turns, then you can pick up on all of the the elements that now make sense. I am disappointed at most movies because I can usually predict where they’re going. I didn’t see that end coming. If you haven’t seen this movie, I highly recommend it if you want to see something that is not the same formula Hollywood makes every movie by. WARNING SPOILERS: I didn’t predict that Stem was running everything from the beginning. I didn’t think Stem was running the entire corporation, even the inventor. Stem had to get rid of him because he was the only person that could build another Stem. He killed all of the other implants so there wouldn’t be any other threats to him. He was talking about the internal guns and the violent way they killed in the movie, my favorite being the one that Stem took over and broke his arm and blew his head off with his own implanted shotgun. That one was great and made my brother and me bust a gut. Him and I have a sadistic sense of humor and love to see bad guys dispatched on creative ways. The other great comedy was the way that the main character had a weak stomach towards graphic violence, so he turned the fighting over to Stem, who was violent as hell. The way he was closing his eyes and getting sick at his own body violating bad guys in the most sickening ways. I had to laugh at the first guy he gave Stem permission to fight and he kept begging the guy to stay down because he couldn’t watch the damage Stem was causing. A great movie that I have suggested to many people I know. Every person I told contacted me back to say thanks and how much they enjoyed this movie. I even thought it was going to take the crappy way out by having everything just be a coma dream right at the end, but when they cut back to reality, you realize that he is stuck in a fantasy, just like all of those people he saw at the Hacker’s place wearing virtual reality goggles. She/he told him that sometimes the fake world is better which set up the end perfectly. He/she specifically asked him not to inquire it’s gender, so I write “he/she”. They were quite sexually ambiguous.
Bloody hell. I walk away from my pc to make a snack and can still hear his review, and then Jeremy did the Alexa bit, and I thought to myself that it would be hilarious if she actually listened to the video. Well, lo and behold, La Macarena was playing quietly from my Echo when I got back..
Only saw one add for this movie and watched it the night it came out. The trailer drew me in with the camera work, and the movie itself went beyond amazing with it. The main lead, camera work, and ending were all CRAZY phenomenal. I wasn't even close to getting bored once the movie picked up and it's definitely gonna be a movie in gonna remember for a while.

I'm the best critic I know. I hate 98% of ALL MOVIES but Upgrade was Class "A". Period. Great premise, plot, screenplay. Most of all - plausibility. The story was never stupid or off the rail. It all flowed harmonically. The ending was superb. Just watch it.
