Luckily most e girls are stuck on hyperpop or wannabe goth boy rap and don't really mess with post punk/ darkwave aside from the Tik Tok bands like Molchat Doma.

Eh… post-punk is shit like Echo & the Bunnymen or The Au Pairs. I think the closest to this sound you’ll get is in certain electroclash artists. It’s almost cold wave… but has just a bit too much energy for that 💀♥️

This makes me want to go back to drinking three or four Quad Mocha Grandes with mint and scarfing a couple of bags of chocolate-coated espresso beans in a single day, like I did semi-regularly in my vampire-like Design major Uni daze of the mid-'90s - just so I can feel *almost* as wired in the instances when I'm prevented from listening to it, as I am feeling when I can. I don't remember exactly when I first discovered this song (probably due to all of that caffeine 😆), but I'll just say that I've come back to it *many* times before I ever even thought of posting this comment.
Never heard of these guys until they opened for APTBS at the Casbah in June. I think their sound guy might've screwed them over for that show. This song is awesome.
