Greta is going to live for such a long time, I’m so happy to see her doing so well! My mom has a golden pothos that she’s had for 33 years.....yes that’s right, 33. She also has a 30 and 26 year old golden pothos. They were gifted to her every time she had a kid, and somehow after decades of leaving them alone they thrived! I hope that the marble and snow varieties live just as long because I’d love to have a huge collection.
@@SometimesLaix they are in hanging baskets so they’re medium to small on the vines, closer the root there are occasionally some bigger hand sized leaves.

i’m glad to see your monstera leaves are small when they first unfurl, i was so sad when mine put out a tiny leaf and then when it started hardening off it got so big :0
Making a moss pole as I watch. Doing a repotting of my monstera adansonii. The largest plant in my collection. She’s about 3 feet and I’m giving her a 4 foot pole. Thanks for the video!
"I'd like to think they didn't know it had scale" hahaha that's what I always tell myself. The hoya imbricata reminds me of scale so much, I just can't with that hoya.
Fern made so many videos before moving. Every one I watch are like: "I'm literaly 2 days from moving you guys..." I guess she moved and still we see "I'm moving like tommorow.." videos" 😅 Can't wait to see your moving vlog 😁
My grandma has a Maranta Leuconeura that my great grandma adored. So it's easily 40+ years old. I'm the next in line to take her on when my gram passes she won't leave it to my mom because she'll kill it. But yea. They live forever
Plants are not like animals, they have primary and secondary growth that occurs and have indeterminate growth. Basically they can live and grow forever as long as there life span is not ended via an abiotic or biotic factor. Hope this is helpful!
Loved this video Fern! Your monstera is beautiful. I recently used your video as a reference to make my own moss poles for my adansonii, they turned out great so thank you! 😊
My girl's getting sponsors and getting back together with her man. I'm so happy for you ❤️ edit: seriously tho, I've been a subscriber when you had a smaller channel. I took a short break from watching plant channels because I wasn't in a good headspace, the fomo got me bad. I came back to see all this personal growth from you and it makes me happy.
I just got a marble queen! I NEVER see them anymore, but I was at home depot and I found a small one and it was the only one so I snagged it. I'm so excited.
I can't wait until my plants are as mature as yours! But I'm new to plants and I prefer to buy small so I can see them grow. And you know...budget reasons.
This video was very welcomed to watch while I eat dinner. I just had to say goodbye to my 14 yr old boxer today. And its just been a tough day and this was relaxing to watch
They are all so healthy and beautiful!! I have the Monstera and I keep her in LECA self watering and she is growing like mad!! I have have the Krimson Queen, (6 inch pot) and I LOVE HER!! So pretty.
I absolutely love your fern and ferns in general, but watching this this, I felt sooo greatful to my past self for getting rid of my boston fern 😂 they are so thirsty and sheds worse than a hairy dog
Your Monstera is quite impressive! I took mine outside due to its large size, but hearing what you paid for yours and all, maybe I should create room to keep it indoors (where it was doing so well, but outsized in the small space with air-roots 2 ft long!). They are among a few plants which do better indoors. Re Greta and Pothos - I don't think there is a lifespan. I've had the same original Pothos for 40+ years through propagations of the original (like yours hanging down the height of the wall). Plants are amazing - same for African violets, spider plants, other philodendrons ....they all keep on giving for decades.
That's incredible. Plants really are amazing. I'm debating putting my monstera outside in the summer.. but we shall see. It's just so large to find space in the house lol.
So basically the biggest trick is to buy established plants that are already big huh? I can't keep a fern alive for the life of me 😭😭 you have some gorgeous huge plants and thanks for the care tips i love that ❤
I am kinda worried I got a super mature monstera leaf cutting. its just one massive leaf, the new leaf thats unfurling doesn't have any fenestrations. the mature leaf has fenestrations and holes in it. I think its me not giving it enough light but I can't give it much more than its getting now sadly.
I have an idea but it's kinda funky lol. Maybe you could create like a facebook account where we can all share our plants and give advice. I know some exist already but I think it would be even cooler to interact with you like that.
going to need to see how you move Gretta. My golden pothos (Patty) was so hard to move and she wasn't even half that size yet. Now she's a giant and I'll be moving in a year so she'll probably be even bigger by then.
I hope my monstera grows as large as yours!! I just found two of those Boston ferns at my grocery store, and bought them since they were looking so rough and neglected. I just had to try and save them.🌿 I’m soon gonna be moving to another state about 12 hours away and I’ve got approx 60 plants to move. Forget about the furniture fitting in the moving truck, I need to take my plants first!! Also way off the plant topic, but what type of stud do you wear in your nose? Is it corkscrew or just like a flat back with the screw on top? I cannot seem to satisfy my nostril ring. They are always too long and stick out like a pointy metal booger. Thanks Fern!!💚
I would love to have an update on how you got rid of the mites in the cabinet..I am experiencing the same bugs ( I think they are mites in the earth and go mainly on the bottom part of plant)... Thank you so much for your videos 😊

This is the first time I'm watching your video this soon! Hoping my plants will also be this long and strong soon! Keep going! ❤️ Also, I have 2 adansonii cuttings with roots and it's been few months since I've potted them up. I do not see any growth, few leaves are even getting crisp.
