2:14 This is renovated "Fachwerkhaus". Instead of the exposed bricks in between the wood beams, back in the old days, the in-between the wood beams would be cross-sections of wood like a fence. And this then was filled up with a mixture of mud, cement, and dried straw/hay (leftovers from the late summer harvest of grain like rye, wheat or oats). If the owners had more money, they actually used stone, like here: at 3:54 ua-cam.com/video/X8urHJpuXW8/v-deo.html Some of these old houses built before 1900 have a protected status, heritage, and modifications are limited and have to be restored historically accurate.
Dang you missed all the frat houses, Marburg has like 30 fraternities with tremendous old houses! And most of them are in the same street, and you walked basically right past it :D
this is crazy :D i just watched all of your videos from the newest to this one and i thought you were just somewhere in southern germany and now i see this video and i actually live in marburg
Around 5:14 when you were talking about getting fastfood....There are like 5 "fast food" shops within 50m from where you are standing. Did you ever hear of this wonderfull creation called a "Döner"? No? Otherwise you would not have ended up at bloddy subway ^^
hope you had the hell of a good time hanging round in maybe one of our nicest cities ! But beware of Frankfurt . . . it's kinda 'crime capitol' :-) Trotzdem kann man es sich hier durchaus gemütlich machen
Wow I've just scrolled back on your videos to find this! Marburg is one kf my, if not my favorite city and it's only an hour away from where I live! Honestly shocked you went there🤩

yes there are several items from Grimms Märchen all over the city
Marburg has so many cute and nice restaurants, but you americans only go to Subway and McDonalds. A little bit sad...
