@@reitplace4765 it's the iridescent paint from Tamiya changing from pink to gold. Really good stuff, but you need a body with edges and curves to see the effect without moving😉
Hey Dirk, wonderful finished Supershot and many thanks for a shout out on the channel also 👍🏻🙌🏻 You are the best!! I bet you can’t wait to run it like me. I am holding off until we get some sunshine so I can drive it on the dirt track where it belongs! I am looking forward to see how your motor works out…. I feel mine will need an upgrade at somepoint 🤔
It was a pleasure for me Craig. Yes, weather is terrible here these days. Today we had sunshine in change with heavy rain. And as I drove home, my ice alert turned on in my car. So I have to be patient with the first run😒. I'll report about the motor. I use the same combo in my Turbo Scorpion and there it's a beast. Assuming Kyosho's using a higher gear ratio in their buggies than Tamiya in their F-1 cars.
Your Hot Shot looks fantastic, Dirk! I love the gold and the minimal use of stickers. I need those big clips for my big fingers, too! I'm sure your buggy will be a great runner. Nice talk about the build and buggy with some good tips - all the best! 😁👌👍
Thank you so much for your kind comment Carmine😊. Indeed this chassis construction is not the best when it comes ro absorbing energy, but it gives the car a slim look. I think and hope that there should be no issue with it, because I hadn't found anyting about it in the community😉.
Thanks for your great comment. I wasn't a fan of it either. But back in those days Tamiya choosed this colour. I really wasn't happy to change the chrome looking friction dampers into yellow oils on my Lunch Box in the 80s. Great working but awful looking, and there were no other. I can only guess, that this colour was the result of heat and silicone resisting indrigents in the plastic. And was happy that they did black and grey ones in the 90s.
@@RCBirds regardless, the two tone paint looks great. I’m thinking of buying one for nostalgia.they say never meet your heroes, so I hope it’s as great as I remember. Have you done a top 10, 80-90s Tamiya RCs?
Never meet your heroes is right, if you take it serious. I'm just driving around, no racing or other stuf hunting for milliseconds😁. Just forfilling the dreams of my youth, now as electronics and batteries're cheap. Tge top ten's a great idea. I'll do that in the next months. Not as an absolute list, only with tge car's I've. Thanks for the input.
It came out beautiful Dirk! I love the color and I think the amount of sticker you applied was spot on. Just enough to add to the look but not too many to take away from the cool paint. great build series and thanks for pointing out both the good and bad points of the buggy as well. They all have them and it is better to be aware of them and not surprised by them later!
Baconator1582, I wonder how your black Super Hotshot with Hotshot II stickers turned out. I am thinking of doing the same, since Tamiya caused a huge letdown for me with the "Blockhead" Hotshot II.
@@RCBirds I agree it's a nice car and really good looking, I really like the aesthetics on it, but it's not a real Hotshot II. 4 shocks and ball bearings is a legit reason. RCBirds, may I ask how long the front and rear shocks are (decompressed and compressed)? Can't find any precise data on this.
Okay that might be right. And I forgot to mention this long skid plate reinforcing the chassis. So yeah, many of the original characteristics get lost. Shocks Rear 100 mm, Front 80 mm (builded in and around, from the middle of eye to eye)
Interesting noting the structual integrity. After purchasing the original hotshot i considered getting either the super shot or hotshot 2 but they done my head in concerning the varying stabilisers or sway bar configurations. I bought a can of ps52 and was wondering if its the same colour? Thanks for the informative video. Looking forward to more content 😊
Thanks a lot for watching. Over all and for me there's three pros for the Super: A complete set of ball bearings The four shock set-up The reinforcing skidplate I know the comparison's on a high level (both versions're great). For the painting I used the iridescent colour PS 47. The strength or colour change depends on the amount of layers. Jave fun with the build
Ist das ein gelungenes Modell! Sehr schön bemalt. Kompliment! Sehr sehr schön gemacht! 😍👍👍

Thank you for watching and commenting bro 😊
Beautiful Dirk, The color is probably even better in person.
So true my Friend

@@RCBirds Nice you can definitely see the colour change.. The blue in my LC kinda does that its a purple and blue change. It really looks sharp..

Thank yoo so much Steven 😊
Currently building one of these. So far it’s a nice build 😎 Looks Great
Thank you so much and have fun with your build👍
I love the tiny personal details on these builds. Great looking rig! Cheers

Thank you so much for your great comment Mark.😊 50197 is the number of the Tamiya set with 10 big and 5 small body clips.
@@RCBirds Thanks for the part No., Dirk!
Good job showing off the strengths and weaknesses.
I hope to get one.
Hope you'll get one soon. It's so much fun do drive, and really fast in this high gear configuration.
Looks amazing. Love the paint job. Great info about this classic RC 🙂
Thank you for commenting. I really appreciate it😊

Looks great, looking forward for seeing it in action 👍
Thank you. Storms over now, just waiting for sunny and dry weather😉
Dirk, I'm convinced that you are an outstanding painter!! You did such a great job! 👍👍
I like the look of less stickers.
I'd be a little concerned about the rear Gearbox mount.... I hope it holds up.

They have been around a long time, and there might even be Alumininium braces available, IF needed.
Incredibly neat job, you have made a beautiful model. Time to take it outside and get covered in mud 👍
Thank you for watching. I really appreciate your comment (with yout personal note😉)
Nice work man, well done 👍🏾

Bold colour job. Looks great. I always loved this RC, but I never grew to love the yellow suspension

The color you chose is outstanding.
Thank you. 😊 Black should look very good, too. Hope you´ll show it when it´s done.

The Blochead is a nice car. For me the decision for the Super felt because of the four shock suspension and that the kit comes with all ball bearings.

The mounting cannot hold the anti-roll bar firmly
Okay, please tell me more details about it.
