  • This is the first video of a new playlist/series on my channel which will include cleaning, organization and decluttering videos. I have been struggling with keeping my home tidy for my entire life and since my kids were born I have seen "some" improvement. I am hoping to tackle this topic as part of a personal development project. My goal is to have a home that is easier to manage which always gives me a better sense of peace and makes life feel less hectic and less heavy.
    Clean and declutter with me!

    I am so grateful that you are doing this, Susie. My life and house are so disorganized that I am overwhelmed to the point of paralysis. I do not know what to do first, so instead I do nothing. I cannot wait to go on this organizational journey with you. Even though I am decades older than you, I feel like I can totally relate to you. Thank you ever so much for sharing with us!

      Hi Suzy with a Z!! Just pick one drawer, just for fun, or one shelf, but something you see every day. Take everything out, throw away all of the garbage, decide what should live in there and find new homes for everything else. If you haven't used something in years & years, get rid of it. You deserve it.

    This was so unlike the usual same-o, same-o YT video, almost like watching a TV show, hearing someone's story unfold, and what will happen next (like the times you said you'll probably cover a certain topic you brought up today later on in a lot more detail). I was like "oh! I want to hear more now!" I really believe talking about all these things will be so beneficial for clearing your mind out and that in the process you will help so many others at the same time, on a huge scale.
    The finished drawer looks great! I simply love doing drawer organization like you just did here; it's exactly like a puzzle, finding just the right place for everything and working it all around to where each thing needs to go, and when it's completed, what a feeling of satisfied accomplishment! I have been needing to clean out and reorganize 3 stuffed cabinets in the pantry and laundry room that have had too many things put in them and are now overcrowded and messy, and I will be taking care of that little chore now one by one! I look forward to the feeling of satisfaction when I've finished them!
    Oh - I forgot to say this earlier and had to come back and edit the comment - thanks SO much for putting the link up above to your intro music!

    Susie, you need to think of “systems” that could work for you in this season of life. Like the shoes near the bench or a charging station in the kitchen. Find things that your family naturally does and set up a “system” or spot for it. My friend put all of her kids and all of her kids socks in the mud room since that’s where everyone put their shoes on. I split laundry by person so I don’t have to sort afterwards. I just put one person’s laundry away. And I never fold anything that goes in a drawer- for kids of myself and husband. Folding is overrated. I hang stuff up I want to keep wrinkle free. I know this is very therapeutic for you to share. I
    Enjoy listening while I do chores. I think you grew up and changed. You’re still the same person but that experience molded you into
    The beautiful woman, wife, and mother you are today. ❤

Looking around at the piles and clutter makes me overwhelmed to the point of panic. Thank you for sharing your story. I can totally relate. In my younger years I had that shame and the thought of letting anyone is my house was terrifying. I also know that feeling of letting someone help you. The shame and guilt it overwhelming but it is one of the most amazing gifts to give someone who struggles with living in a mess. Exactly like you said, it feels like a huge weight is lifted. That's why I love videos like by Clutterbug when she goes in and helps someone who is overwhelmed. The transformations are so emotional and I cry with them because I know how they must feel. I love when people share theirs stories like you are doing. It helps other feel less alone. I'm looking forward to your next video.
    P.S. I know it's none of my business, but I see that you have a Beta fish. I see that it is going after the other fish. They are also called fighting fish because they are very aggressive, and it is recommended that they not be in a tank with other fish. Which is why they are often alone when you find them in a pet store. Sorry if I'm overstepping. Just and FYI.

    Hello Susie, thanks for opening up a conversation about how mental health problems both mild and severe can manifest themselves in surrounding ourselves in clutter. It’s such an important and potentially debilitating aspect of many underlying problems so any discussion, whether lighthearted or deep can only be a good thing. So thanks again for that. A place for everything and everything in its place…..and put it in its place when you’re done with it! Clutter and mess makes me feel agitated. I wouldn’t say my house is totally clean but it is organized partly because I don’t like a lot of stuff. When bad/sad things happen and overwhelm us some things take the back burner, try not to be so hard on yourself. Also, everyone needs chores…..including husbands and kids and be responsible for their own things.
    TIPS: use twist ties to hold those device cords together; get a basket for those dog treats on the counter.

    Susie! This so off topic but if I could ask, did you lose Kyle? Where did willow come from? Kyle always seemed like the cutest little buttface😂

    • @CurlySusie
      @CurlySusie  22 дні тому +1

      We did lose Kile. He was only 12. Its been almost a year and I'm still not ready to talk about it on camera. He was THE dog. I will never ever EVER get over how much we loved him. My neighbours dog had puppies and we got Willow when Kile was still alive and they were perfect siblings. She is goofy and sweet but she's a "dog" if you know what I mean lol..... Kile was more like a person, he was our child that became our roommate. He was the best.

    You exhibit all the positive stereotypes of a Eastern Canadian. I'm not good at eastern accents. PEI?
