I just discovered a huge wad of dried gum on a New sports (neoprene material) jacket. I put the jacket in the freezer, but due to the material, freezing did not harden the gum enough to get it off. I then searched UA-cam and this was the second video I watched (the first recommned the freezing method). I was concerned, as I didn’t think duc-tape would adhere to fabric still damp from rubbing alcohol. But to my surprise, the gum stuck to the tape. It took a lot of dabbing and several pieces of tape, but it did remove ever bit of gum, even in a deep double seam. Thank you Rachel Ray ❤️
was 100% skeptical, but desperate to get gum out of a navy, chiffon business dress. This totally worked!! I had already scraped as much gum off as I could, which left a thin, kind of rubbed-in residue that dried and was no longer very sticky. I was traveling so it took a week before I could try to get the gum out. Then I took a couple q-tips, 70% rubbing alcohol, and about 1 yard (1 meter) of duct tape cut into 4" (10 cm) pieces. Dabbed the gum very carefully with rubbing alcohol. Too much alcohol is not good, bc the gum started to melt into the fabric. Let it dry. If alcohol is too wet, tape won't stick and the gum won't be dissolved enough. Keep using new places on the tape to not spread the gum around on the fabric.Repeated until dress clean. Gum is now 100% gone. Duct tape left no residue. Brilliant!
Used this method with black eurothane windshield sealant. This stuff was black and sticky like tar! Took several tries, a little coming off each time. After i had removed as much as possible, I used a brush and some stain remover and it's barely noticeable now. Much better!
It worked for me and was spread over a dress. I didn't have duct tape but used my lint roller and with some time, patience and elbow grease it came out.
I just tried it on week old gum on my son's pants. Of course it didn't work like they show in this video. I dabbed alcohol on it a few times, then I just kept using duct tape over and over to pull it off. It did come out!! It just takes a bit more work.
It actually works, just won't as easy as in the show. For gums already bonded with the fabric, you will need to rub the area with alcohol and use tape to remove any loosed gum. You will need to do this several times but eventually the gum will be gone.
I couldn’t use the ice method because my son decided to try and wash his jeans and T-shirt out in the washing machine (so the gum was really stuck onto the fabric) . So I gave this a try (even though the gum looked fake sitting on top of the shirt) And it took 4 small pieces of duct tape. As I placed each one on the gum it kept pulling more and more, until literally nothing was left.
Took my puffer to a rave, even after telling myself not to bring nice clothes… when I got home of course there was a huge smear of chewing gum across the bottom of it. Found this comment and 5 mins later, gum is completely gone
I'm going to try this and give feedback. It may work on freshly chewed gum, however what about if it's old and you other find out when you're doing the laundry??
I got to try this!! I have a bad and unsafe habit of falling asleep with a piece of chewing gum in my mouth; only to find it on my pillowcase, nightgown and sheets!! Unbeknownst to me, I even dropped a piece of gum from my mouth into my shoe; which is suede - inside and out! I will let you know how it all turns out ‼️ Loloud
I stepped on a chewing gum today. Thankfully I had both alcool and tape in my house. Removal took a bit of time as my plastic sole was not flat but completely solved the issue. Fantastic! Thank you so much for the tip :)
2024. Just tried this on gum stuck on a nylon jacket (one of those "quilted" styles). The gum was smeared in good as it was on the back of the jacket and I had been sitting on a chair for some time. I tried the alcohol just like she said, BUT used masking tape to remove the gum as I thought it would be a little softer on the material. BAM...worked like a charm. I can't even find where the gum used to be. I am so glad the Internet is timeless.
My jeans are currently in the wash with Oxi hoping to get the stupid gum color out now! I hope it works on mine too! I actually knelt down into someone’s dark nasty gum with the knee of my jeans. Growls!!
OK, I lleft some chewing gum in my stomach pocket (on my FAVORITE hoodie) & my wife washed AND dried it. I have multiple melted gum stains on the hoodie, will alcohol work on these gum stains??
So I was a bit skeptical but reading the comments people said it worked so I decided to try. My daughter got gum on her top, she tried to remove a bunch of it by hand and basically just the gum really sticky on the material is what's left. I used the qtip put alcohol 70% on it and then used packing tape to remove it (didn't have duct tape but I'm sure it would of went a lot faster) and it is working just taking a while since my tape isn't that great. But definitely recommend you just need some patience
Well... I did not believe it will work when I was searching for tips to remove chewing gum from my my son trousers. I had nothing to lose and gave it a try. 😳 it dose actually work you know! Not exactly like on this video, I had to work with the tape for quite long but I’ve managed to remove 90% of it! Tiny bits left deeper in the fabric but I removed it in washing machine adding scoop of vanish. Worth to try. Far better than freezing which I tried before in the past :)
Thanks for the tip, It helped me get out gum out of my daughters blouse, it didn’t get it out right away, I had to press with the tape several times before everything came out. But it definitely worked
i was skeptical but got a nice gum smear on my sweater sleeve at work. Used isopropyl alchohol and some duct tape i had here. Had to dab abit but actually worked great. Very pleased.
I just dowsed the shit out of the gum on my new adidas track top... it looks like it has come out. Need to wait and see once it dries. But overall it looks amazing. Thanks for this video!
My daughter was “saving” her hubba bubba tape gum on the ottoman and I sat on it with my sweater. It is the worst gum ever. It stuck on really badly. I used this trick and while it did not take it off in one clean glob it still worked. I had to do this step multiple times and it took small bits of the gum till it was gone. So not as perfect but it DOES WORK. it really depends on the gym. Cheap gum = more work.
THIS IS THE MOST FABULOUS WAY TO REMOVE GUM FROM SHEETS, ETC.. PERIOD.. NO QUESTION. PAT OR SATURATE A BIT.. AND CAREFULLY SCRAPE WITH A KNIFE IF STUBBORN USING ALCOHOL AS NEEDED.. ALL GUM DOES NOT COME OFF AS EASY AS SHOWN BUT, THE ALCOHOL METHOD..IT WORKS FAST... LIKE GUM ON SHEETS OVER NIGHT..
I just came from the Dr. and I accidentally sat on a piece of gum while waiting for my ride home. Yuk! Anyway, I tried this method and it didn't come off by simply pulling the tape off. I had to use more alcohol and a cloth to rub it off and that got all of it. But thanks for the tip which worked with a bit more effort than the demo.
Didn't work for me. I sat in gum earlier and pulled off as much as I could so there was only a little residue left. When I got home I tried this It wouldn't even get the little bit of residue off.
I've just came from a store and found gum inside a dress (last one available). The gum was already dry... I pulled a good chunk of it with my hands and use a cotton swab to soak it with rubbing alcohol. I could easily remove it just with the cotton swab. Tip: once you start the process, go on until you remove it all (eventually use more swabs and keep removing it). If you wait, it will "activate" the gum again.
I was looking for a video to get gum out of my bed sheet but instead I came across this to see if it would work but I ended up just ripping it out with the duct tape it's a easier method for getting gum out of bed sheets
This didn't even almost work littlerly 0% of the gum came off. Trying another trick where I put my shirt in the freezer and the gum should harden up and peel off hopefully
I hate walking out on my cement front porch and getting chewing gum on my socks when I'm just going out in my socks to go get my duplex mail in my mailbox
This video was not very convincing. It looks fake. like the gum is jus sitting on top of the shirt & isnt actually embedded in the shirt. But guys this really works. instead of putting tape on top 2 remove it (which doesn't work) dip the q-tip in rubbing alcohol & maneuver it over the gum repeatedly ...until it comes off.
"But will the alcohol damage the fabric?" I hate when women ask questions that make us all seem dumb af. Like would the lady be using it ON FABRIC if it damages it...dumb!!
really? was that gum even sticking on her sleeves? that gum has to be way less sticky than Ive ever imagined. Seriously that was the less stickiest gum Ive ever seen or even wanna chew in my life
i noticed that the chewing gum was already like.a dried.plate.and it was already out. they sticked it this way.

Well you can't just put the gum on the shirt just like that. Mine is all spreaded on
Just use the duct tape then. Works great
It worked for me and was spread over a dress. I didn't have duct tape but used my lint roller and with some time, patience and elbow grease it came out.
Mine was spread out too. I repeatedly dabbed with the duct tape focusing on different spots and it did all come out after a few minutes.
It worked expect i used a plastic butter knife...it came right off
😊⁰@@sarahhofhine2557
Can I use this method but with vodka as I can then drink the rest 🧐
Just *dab dab dab dab* on them haters
Kadz lol
Kadz ha

Thank you for this! My boyfriend just did the same thing to his work shirt and I have no idea where to start lol. Doing this now!!! 😊
Great idea. I sat on a kids bubble gum. Ugh
This comment is more helpful then the video
Fake fucking news!!!! I just tried this on my grphic T. It ruined my graphic way before the gum came of f**** this B****
Took my puffer to a rave, even after telling myself not to bring nice clothes… when I got home of course there was a huge smear of chewing gum across the bottom of it.

Omg same!! I’m lucky I’m still alive cause I don’t choke or swallow it in my sleep
Happens to me too...nighttime dry mouth has me falling asleep while chewing gum...now it's stuck in my flannel Snoopy throw 🙃
Did it work for y’all?
I stepped on a chewing gum today. Thankfully I had both alcool and tape in my house. Removal took a bit of time as my plastic sole was not flat but completely solved the issue. Fantastic! Thank you so much for the tip :)

Works-ish but stain from gum color is still on the fabric- was. Luckily I was able to get it out with oxy clean. That's the power of oxy.
AND THAT'S THE POWER OF OXI-CLEAN! Damn, we miss you Billy.
My jeans are currently in the wash with Oxi hoping to get the stupid gum color out now! I hope it works on mine too! I actually knelt down into someone’s dark nasty gum with the knee of my jeans. Growls!!
ideal gum situation how do you get out when it got washed in?

mouthwash works as well, and a scrub sponge
So interesting, I'll gonna try this today.
Thanks for sharing this video.
I'm so happy I read the comments before doing this
Lol. It works. Should have tried before commenting.

Worked for smeared gum that went through the wash. Definitely needed more alcohol than an ear swab, but it worked.
i was skeptical but got a nice gum smear on my sweater sleeve at work. Used isopropyl alchohol and some duct tape i had here. Had to dab abit but actually worked great. Very pleased.

Can you use hydrogen peroxide?
Worked for me. Thank you!
Success! Totally works. I had tried ice cubes and scraped it off as much as possible. Then used the rubbing alcohol and the rest came right off!

"You'll Never Believe this Amazing Trick for Removing Gum from Clothing" - BECAUSE IT DOESN'T WORK - LAME
SAXONWARLORD1000AD righttttt
*Really? Do you know what does work❓ I'm desperate‼️*
Lol
@@moonglow1311 I've read that ice cubes freeze it enabling to peel off. I need a solution myself so I'll try it.
It does work to some extent
I just came from the Dr. and I accidentally sat on a piece of gum while waiting for my ride home. Yuk! Anyway, I tried this method and it didn't come off by simply pulling the tape off. Worked amazing! Thanks!
They barely even stuck it on, I sat in chewing gum and it's all hard and stuff and it's on sorts leggings so I really need help.any tips?
Worked perfectly! thank you so much :-)
I never believed a video could be so stupid...
Where the fuck am I supposed to pull out rubbing alcohol from in the park?
Didn't look like the gum was really stuck on there very well... Skeptical but worth a try.
It worked expect i used a plastic butter knife...it came right off
Thank u it worked for me. A week old gum on my grand girl new jeans. Happy!
Will this work with slime
Didn't work for me. I sat in gum earlier and pulled off as much as I could so there was only a little residue left. When I got home I tried this It wouldn't even get the little bit of residue off.
This works so well, thank you
I just tried it and it actually worked! 👍
I tried the alcohol and duct tape...Just the duct tape worked much better by itself...thanks
no, you doubters! i just got gum offa red bedsheets, it worked!
it worked omg thank you ❤
I got a hack if u got some stuck in ur hair apply toothpaste wait for it to dry then it would come off
that shit was fake!!

What a cool way to make a fool!

I had mentos gum on my nice shirt really bad. This actually worked but without the q tip. I poured alcohol on it and the gum came right off.
did she go there with a dried gum on her shirt? I doubt it.
It worked like a charm. Wait 1 minute for alcohol to dry not 30 seconds.
whats is the name of that chemical she poured..please
alcohol.
Nail polish remover?
This didn't work at all! We used anti-stick spray that you use to remove gum off stickers and it scraped right off
It wasn't embedded in the fabric
good grade duct tape actually worked once I scraped down the ground in washed a dried gum wads with a dull chisel
That gum looked like it was barely stuck. I'm talking about gum that's truly stuck on your clothes
This didn't even almost work littlerly 0% of the gum came off. Trying another trick where I put my shirt in the freezer and the gum should harden up and peel off hopefully
I tried it, it did not work the gum is still on there, what a bummer!
Try gum that was left in a shirt and then put in a dryer
OH REALYY >>>!!!! WHEN YOU WERE DAB DAB DAB WE CAN SEE THAT THE GUM WASN'T STICK O THE CLOTH ....
This does not work if the gum has go thru the cloth. Just apply an icecube on it for some seconds and then remove using a knife
1:22 got me dieing
Not amazing if you put dried out gum on the fabric then pretend to pull it off using duct tape!
Dang Rachel Ray, let the lady explain!
I hate walking out on my cement front porch and getting chewing gum on my socks when I'm just going out in my socks to go get my duplex mail in my mailbox
This does NOT work on dried up gum on carpet. 🙄🙄🙄
Would have been helpful if the gum was actually stuck.
How to remove gum that’s barely stuck on clothes
Likewise mine spreaded
Very nice Excellent video
Yes, pretty amazing
did it work or nah
+Leonel Cruz nah
+JRoss614 it did

You can clearly see the gum is not properly stuck
"But will the alcohol damage the fabric?" I hate when women ask questions that make us all seem dumb af. Like would the lady be using it ON FABRIC if it damages it...dumb!!
Yeah but like, my shit's all embedded in the fabric. Idk how tf I'm gonna get this out but we'll see. Duct tape and alcohol
Umm that not the gum on my clothes looked like
Just tried it. Doesn't work.
ORRRRRR you can just leave an ice cube to sit on the there for 5-15 min and then peel tha’ gum, AND YES I TRIED IT, IT WORKED
It worked for me 😊 on work pants.
And gum in hair?
hi who,s the girl wearing te dress and black shirt? she,s sitting down I,d thaught I,d ask its not the one standing up
really? was that gum even sticking on her sleeves? that gum has to be way less sticky than Ive ever imagined. Seriously that was the less stickiest gum Ive ever seen or even wanna chew in my life
Praktična žena
What if it’s on a rain jacket
I shit in my yard how I clean thet
Just rub ice on it people
didnt have ice but had the achohol and tape, worked great
Thanks
It worked for me 🎉
This did not work. I just tried it on my jeans which got him from last night sitting on chewing gum accidentally.
THIS DID NOT EVEN WORK.
Alcohol concentration must be 70% and higher.
That gum wasn’t even stuck on the fabric... 😂🤦🏼♀️
or put ice over it freeze it then peel it off
It worked expect i used a plastic butter knife...it came right off
It does work to some extent
I tried this but the gum is still on my skirt my mother is going to kill me when she comes home I'm scared 😳
