This 10km route takes you through beautiful Berowra Valley National Park located only approximately one hour north of Sydney CBD (City Centre). The route we took connects two train stations along the Sydney rail network. Start at Berowra station and finish at Mount Kuring-gai station. The hiking trail will take you past Naa Badu lookout with a bit a of a detour before heading down the steep hill to Sam's Creek. Naa Badu means 'see water' in the Darug language. The people of the Darug nation are the traditional owners and caretakers of the lands in this area.
Along the way, we saw many birds including sulphur-crested cockatoos, Wattle birds, Wrens, Lorikeets, and even a male Lyrebird with its beautiful tail feathers. We also saw five lace monitors (Goannas) and a few Australian brush turkeys. During spring, many wildflowers bring beautiful colours to the entire walk. The hiking trail is not an easy one for beginner hikers. Good, sturdy shoes are required and be prepared to climb over big rocks from time to time.
Enjoy the footage!

Another walk that I have loved seeing you do. I also love the music that you have on here. I definitely would love to do this walk in the near future - it just looks so beautiful here
Lovely video
It's a good walk, I have done it many times.
Great video, really enjoyed it! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you - we are glad you enjoyed it!
It's a great walk I did this a while back. I did it via Berowra Waters. From memory the climb back up the hill from Berowra Waters was a bit of a killer.
That's fantastic. Yes, it is a bit of a climb up to Berowra. There is also a steep hill heading up to Mount Kuring-gai from down in Lyrebird gully. Slow and steady makes it easier, though!
Do you know if this walk is open? I’m very keen to do this walk in the near future but not sure if it’s open or not. Last I heard it was closed due to the heavy rainfall in the area that caused some damage
We recommend checking the NSW Parks website for all of the latest information about track closures. :)
how long would it take to do this hike at a leisurely pace
This is very hard to estimate, sorry. Depends on the person and what a leisurely pace would be for them. I recommend viewing the track information and recommended duration listed there and estimate based on that.
