Peter - the broken jars were at the Fitzwilliam Museum Cambridge and they are polychrome - our favourite story ! The person that took them out said it was the museums fault for having them on the stairs! 😊 thanks for all your wonderful content watch every week - Simon UK
This was such a treat to watch. What an informative and fun video to watch. Many thanks to Dessa Goddard for taking the time to do this interview with you Peter.
This is my favorite episode thus far. I loved your including Dessa in the conversation and the viewing of the works for sale with her commentary and your take. I hope you can do more episodes like this!
Its great catching this now and then going through the catalogue and seeing the results, along with the great pictures they provide on their site, great seeing all this authentic old Kangxi bases and the quality of porcelain which was so famous for the period and historically.
This is a sad event for the donors, collectors and their family.i am sure these were special pieces, well studied and appreciated.as mentioned already loan them out to state museums and colleges.
This auction has really caught the attention of the international museum community at the most senior levels and of course their patrons. It will certainly stimulate many to finally give impetus to long-pending deaccessioning programs. Not before time!

Thanks! Peter, for this delightful interview.
That was a real joy! Some of those ceramics had colors and saturations that I have never seen. Thank you very much for presenting it to us.

I visit the Walter's Art Gallery in Baltimore MD often & the Asian Art Gallery is incredible. It is FREE admission to the public as well.

What is sad is this would be a fabulous collection in a lesser museum.
